Chapter 68

Tank

After Lilly got situated in her room the guys started pouring in a few at a time. I filled everyone in on what the doctor said and told them what to expect. There was nothing left to do but wait and let Lilly rest. While we did that my brother’s and I made sure to accidentally leak information to Nessa so she could send it to Brit. Nessa did tell us that Brit is working with Constantine and they both plan to be here tonight to try and kidnap Lilly. Viper and I went over the plan one more time and even got Silvey involved. I didn’t want to involve her at first but after she heard what was going on with Lilly Silvey insisted on helping out. It seems she has become quite attached to Lilly and wanted to help out anyway she can. Silvey arranged for the security on the floor to be scarce so it looked like the floor was empty.

Lilly slept most of the day because of the medicine they had given her.I got the doctor to leave the bandages on until after we got Brit and Constantine. He wasn’t happy about what we were doing, especially the part about using Lilly as bait but agreed after we assured him Lilly would be completely safe. After making sure everything was set I went to Lilly’s room to sit with her before we got started. I held her hand and leaned over to whisper in her ear. “ Everyone is in place. I will be going out in a few minutes. I just need some time with you beforehand. You know I don’t like this. I wish there was any other way to get that bastard but I trust my brothers and I know you do too.” I feel her squeeze my hand. “ Tank” she whispers. “ I know how much you hate this. I do too. But I am beyond ready for this to be over with and get on with our lives. We need this, honey. And I trust you guys to make this work. I know I am in good hands. The best hands with you on the team.”

I am filled with pride because of the amount of faith she has in me and my brothers. I kiss her forehead “ It is go time. Try not to freak out when the bastard picks you up. We will be right behind you. I love you , Lilly.” Lilly starts to doze off again “ I love you too, Nick. With all my heart.” After I was sure she was asleep I left to take my place. I pressed my com to activate it “ We are a go.” Now we just have to wait. And we didn’t have to wait too long before Lug checked in. “ Both targets just walked in the lobby headed to the elevators.” “ Noone moves until they have Lilly or this isn’t going to work.” Viper said. I heard the chime of the elevator. Then Ace checked in “ Target on the floor headed to Lilly’s room. He has Brit in tow.” I was in the hallway where we were going to herd them too. I hated not seeing what was going on. I know Constine was going to be here but I didn’t expect Brit to be here as well.
“ They have entered the room. ” Goof said. He was stationed at the nurses desk hiding in plain sight. I know Silvey is in the room with Lilly. We know they are going to try to get Lilly out of the hospital and we didn’t want them yanking things out and hurting Lilly. So we have Silvey in there to unhook Lilly the right way. It is silent for a few minutes and it is killing me. Finally I hear Goof “ Heads up. They are on the move. And they are armed.” Fuck. That is the last thing we need. These two nut jobs with guns could make this even more dangerous than it already is.

“ Put the girl down and no one will get hurt.” I hear Goof say. “ Not a chance. I’m taking her and getting out of here. Anyone tries to stop me I will shoot.” I hear Constinte’s nasally voice over the com. I hear Brit yell for everyone to move. “ They are coming your way, Tank and Viper.” Goof says. So far the plan is going just the way we want it.
