CHAPTER 28: REWARDS

Time flew just like that and K busied herself with school, the boutique, the company she left in Paula’s hands which progress was faster than she imagined. Everything was producing fruits which made her feel at ease.

The most important thing was the fact that the agencies where she sent her songs, she got replies and positive ones. She managed to sell the whole five songs earning herself one million Edji dollars in total. What they do with the songs was not of her concern. She was just happy seeing an extra million in her bank account.

As for J, the reaction was much greater which made her happy. She received the response after two days and sold the song for two hundred thousand just like the other songs.

They even asked her for more songs and since she had already kept them aside, she decided to sell the other nine to them. She just couldn’t wait for the album when it comes out.

In a period of two weeks after taking the missions, she managed to sell a total of fifteen songs, earning three million and three crystals which she used to buy more CDs and books to browse through while she expands this new career of hers.

As soon as she received the money for her songs, she received the reward for finishing the first sub-mission, and days later, she received the final reward for sub-mission two.

J had been in a very good mood especially after listening to the CD he had thrown aside when he received it but later retrieved it. It wasn’t the first time he received something like that. To think that when he was in despair, he received such a blessing in disguise, he was very happy.

He spoke with his manager who then sent the issue to the management and in the end, he bought the song for a huge amount after all it was worth it. When he was preparing to record the song, he heard about the new song ghostwriter who sold five songs to different agencies and when he confirmed that it was the same person, he knew he had to do something fast.

In the end, he had his manager contact the mysterious songwriter K for more songs. He was very shocked when he received nine more songs which suited him perfectly. He could tell that this person was probably his fan which meant that he will never harm him.

So, the first thing he did was to record the first song for his new album and had the agency release the audio while he shoots the video.

When the song was released, it garnered a lot of attention as his fans had been waiting anxiously for a song from him. So, seeing how his audio and music video was taken so well after working hard for two weeks, he felt elated to the extent of sending his fans a message.

J: “I have so many words that I want to say but they all come down to just a few after so much contemplation. Thank you once again for your continuous support and belief in me. If it wasn’t for you who are always supporting and encouraging me every single day, I would have not been where I am today.

The song I released is part of the album I will be releasing soon, so I hope that you can all be patient with me and wait for the good news @ HAND IN HAND (J’s new album)”

When the fans saw this post, they went crazy with happiness and began to post their comments, supporting their idol over and over again. As everyone now anticipated the release of the album, the song quickly hit the top and remained there for five days without wavering.

It was because of this popularity that caused K’s reward for the sub-mission to skyrocket that she was shocked when she saw it. For every person that saw the music video or listened to the song, she received one point each so seeing so many points against her name she danced for five minutes celebrating. She was someone born without the gift for singing or dancing so it was more of a luxury to her.

When those other agencies realized that the song that made J viral and gathered more fans was written by K, they began to bomb her account with requests which made K be famous in the entertainment industry earning her a number of fans of anti-fans from those that were jealous of her achievements.

To make matters worse, J tagged K’s account and expressed his gratitude on her wall which made the netizens go crazy for a couple of days, and in that time the culprit was nowhere to be seen online.

Krystal was busy studying for her end-of-term exams and the luxury of going online was something that she couldn’t afford. Even though she could just spend a few minutes browsing through and sending some songs, she wasn’t willing to do so.

She wanted her products to be rare and not just easily available to everyone. She didn’t want to be just ordinary as this had an impact on her life.

J was seated in his sitting room having a glass of juice while frowning. He had been trying to contact K for a while now and yet the other person was nowhere to be seen. Just what kind of a businessperson was K to not check his inbox like this?

What he really wanted was to meet this person in person otherwise he wouldn’t feel very good. When he listened to those songs, he fell in love, he knew that this person was for him. This person was that muse he had been looking for and yet he used all his connections to look for K’s identity and yet nothing came up.

K was just using a secondary account; his details were not available and there was nothing that could be used in finding him. K didn’t even leave a phone number which meant that as long as they want to find K, they all needed to be patient till K appears online once again. Was K an eccentric?

J was never bothered by the fact that K might be a man. It’s not like it matters anymore nowadays. Society was now very accepting and many stars came out of the closet and even married partners of the same sex.

He wasn’t going to stop hunting for K, he was going to get K even if K belongs to another. This was his first time wanting something so bad that he was willing to walk into the depth of hell just to have it.

Because of that warm feeling he had when he listened to the ten songs provided by K, he named his album Hand in Hand as he wished to do exactly that with the person who made his heart race.

The culprit of all this wasn’t aware that another guy was busy searching for her and just like B.B who had the perfect physique suitable to aid K with her cultivation, J was the same.

If K would have known that everything that the system does was calculated beforehand, she would trash it and thanked it later. Even though she had the right to choose or decline, the system was doing everything for her.

Krystal wasn’t aware that her dream of forming a harem was soon to be realized as two gorgeous men were willing to do anything just to be with her and stay by her side.

Since J couldn’t find K at the moment, he decided to record his album seriously so that he won’t be ashamed when he finally meets his muse.
