CHAPTER 60: BROTHER

After settling her butler’s issues and her missions, she was left with nothing to do so she decided to contact her lovers and tell them that she was in Valletta and at the mansion.

The boys were excited but J was busy so he couldn’t come and see her for the time being but B.B was ready to come over and see her but she rejected as she had something to do the next day.

After coaxing her big boy, she went to sleep after having a hot meal. The following day K worked on her array in the morning, cleaned up, and took a taxi to the CBD where she planned on looking at her brother Mason.

In K’s family, there were just the two of them apart from their parents who died unjustly that night. In order to revenge for the death of her parents, she made a deadly choice and that was to follow a gangster. She needed the power to avenge, to raise her little brother but she didn’t want him to join this path which is why she had her brother sent to the orphan.

She sorts of abandoned him, cut ties with him as she didn’t want her to be linked to him. She didn’t want to risk it. She didn’t care if he hates her as long as he was alive and doing well.

With K joining the gang she was known as M, a shortcut of her name Mercy. She made it that she was just a runaway, a child with no family, and didn’t divulge her personal information to anyone. She didn’t want to see Mason meeting any sort of ending.

She was ready to face anything but she was not ready to have her only remaining relative suffer. In order to get the power, she needed in the gang K worked hard, did all kinds of dirty jobs; blackmailing, drugs, etc.

Whatever she was told to do she did it as long as she moved up the ladder and she did it. When she took on some positions in the gang, she began saving some money which she used to investigate the whereabouts of Mason whom she found after a while.

She began to send money to him, look after him, and watched from afar as he went to school, fell in love, and married the woman of his dreams. She made sure that his foster family didn’t take advantage of him as she was ready to make their lives miserable.

Whoever caused trouble for him she dealt with it and never showed any mercy? She still remembered the day when Mason called her name, she froze that day but strongly rejected that she was someone that he knew. It was a close call but she felt happy to know that he could recognize her even after not seeing each other for years.

The other reason she didn’t want to meet him face to face was the fact that she felt very ashamed for what she did to her little brother back then. She abandoned him and left him alone which might have caused some trauma for the young man.

She didn’t want to open those wounds after so many years but now that she is back as K and not M, she can approach him and establish a relationship with him without being wary of getting caught.

In this life, she was going to be with her brother and get to know him once more. If he refuses, then she was going to keep on pursuing as she didn’t fear that brat at all. She may as well coax the kids than the parents which was a good idea.

K visited the kindergarten where the youngest was studying and sat on the bench as she watched the kids playing. Among the children was Kathy, Mason’s youngest daughter who was five years old.

K sat there for an hour watching Kathy playing with her friends and classmates. Just knowing that the child was okay and doing well, made her feel very relieved.

She couldn’t approach the child as she was afraid of having the police call on her.
After watching the child, she finally left and took a walk while she digests some information.

What K didn’t know was that after she left Mason looked towards the direction she was walking. He had been there for thirty minutes after the teacher called him about a young woman looking at his daughter.

He told the teacher not to call the police as this was similar to when his older sister will secretly come to look at his family. He fainted the day he heard that she was dead, he couldn’t bury his owner's sister but he understood why she had been avoiding him all those years.

All he wanted was to see her one more time but she just never showed up again. He had this inkling that it was her. He can forget any other person but not his own sister.

He still remembered the words of that monk when he went to pay his respects to his sister after he learnt about her death.

“Your sister is a blessed individual. Her soul is roaming the place but she will come back to you. All you have to do is be patient.”

If it wasn’t because the monk was a true one and very famous for his predictions, he would have fought the bald monk. Thanks to those words, he believed that she will come to him just like she did for many years. She had this fetish for stalking and he prayed for that every single day and finally, his prayer got answered.

He finally found her and all he had to do was look into her and find her as soon as possible. He knew that she may come and look for him at his workplace and he will be waiting.

It was time to have a heart-to-heart talk with Mercy and straighten out some issues they have between them. With a smile, Mason spoke to the teacher and informed her to call him if the young lady were to come back. She didn’t mean any harm which the teacher agreed on as she had watched the young girl smiling happily as she watched Kathy playing with the other kids.

After settling the issue at the kindergarten, Mason returned back to his workplace and decided to talk with his wife Faith when he gets back home.

K who thought she wouldn’t be found didn’t know that she had been exposed and unmasked. If she knew then she will be so happy and even deliver herself quickly to Mason’s doorstep as she misses him so much.
