CHAPTER 71: INDEPENDENT STATE

After the house warming party K met regularly with Helen and Charlene for some daughter-to-mother-in-law dates. Life was surely beautiful and she enjoyed every second of it.

Her businesses were also blooming and Paula managed to buy a four-story building which she turned into a studio for J when he leaves that company in the following three months.

His contract was coming to an end so she decided to not let him renew it as those entertainment companies were hungry wolves busy eating lambs. The studio was now in the middle of being renovated and she was not in a hurry.

As for the island business, she found a number of islands but she was just busy checking up on it so she left it to B.B who did a good job and bought one of the islands for a huge amount of money.

By buying the island her coffers were nearly emptied but she didn’t lose any hope as she will go stone gambling once more. It had been too long since she made some money. She really hated using her own money to invest in her business but since her men’s money was used as capital, she decided to use it, after all, there will be no losses in whatever she put her mind to.

She wanted to go stone gambling but all of a sudden, her men decided to take her for a long vacation to Independent State. She will be a fool if she didn’t know the place, it was not an ordinary place to be but she went there just once in her previous life and swore that she will go back there.

She just never expected that before she could return her life was turned upside down and later passed away. Now that she was going there again, she was so happy that she agreed. She even put aside the fact that she needed to make some money.

Money wasn’t the issue here but spending time with her loved ones and making memories was the best thing that she can do. K packed her bags and put most of her things in her storage ring. The boys also did the same thing and kept small bags on them.

They hide the things that they didn’t want K to know of in their storage rings. They have tried so hard to keep the secret hidden and hoped that she will not get a hint of it and spoil their hard work.

The day of departure arrived and the three left on their first flight. The Independent State was mysterious and no one could just easily enter, so when leaving Edji one has to take three connecting flights and one boat ride to reach the lone island.

The journey to the island took three days but it wasn’t frustrating as they were busy cultivating and seeing places. Since they were busy on flights the three didn’t entangle themselves a lot.

The day they arrived and had their passport stamped, received the yellow passes for entry they took a huge sigh of relief and took a taxi to the hotel that B.B had reserved.

When they arrived the three separated into two rooms as the boys took one while she took one. To be honest she didn’t know why the boys decided to do that. They always use one room so this was more suspicious.

When she thought of how secretive these two were, she couldn’t help but show a sly smile on her face. Were these boys planning something behind her back?

What she didn’t know was her assumption was very correct. The boys had been scheming behind her back for a very long time and she was about to find out the reason.

K was tired so she cleaned up and ate some fruits while she waited for the boys. When the boys came to get her, they went to the restaurant where they ate their dinner before retiring to their rooms for some well-needed sleep.

K slept beautifully that night and didn’t think much about the boys’ schemes. They will tell her in the end so she didn’t need to worry about that. The next day was beautiful, after having breakfast the three began to take a tour of the city.

Independent State was more of a country on its own with four provinces that were known for different things. The Jade province was known for its stone gambling and jade prowess, if you want to make money it was a good place to go; the gold province was known as the heart of the State’s economy. It was more of like Wall Street there; Film Province was self-explanatory and the last province was more militant.

K and the boys were currently in the Film province where the streets were bustling. In this province it was easy to meet all kinds of celebrities, it was a good thing that the only celeb that attracted her was J and she already captured him.

They spent the day visiting places, taking pictures, and eating delicious foods. They even bought some of the things they found interesting. By the time they returned to the hotel they were exhausted but it was worth it.

K washed up and entered her space where she cultivated for a while before going to sleep. When she woke up the next day, she felt very refreshed and it was quite early.

She just never expected to receive unexpected visitors who made her freeze. What were these two doing all the way here?

“Moms, what’s happening?” K asked both Helen and Charlene who were smiling at her brightly.

Ever since she gave them the pills the two were looking younger and more refreshed than before.

“Let’s get inside and get you ready or else we will be late.”

Now K was confused but she let them do whatever they wanted. Soon a group of ladies walked into her room and the torment began. It took two hours before she had her make-up and hair done.

She couldn’t recognize herself when she looked into the mirror, she was truly shaken when she saw this reflection in the mirror. Because her face was good and didn’t need any additions, she never bothered to put any makeup on her face.

What followed next was even more hilarious but she stopped herself from crying because now she had a full idea of what the boys had been scheming behind her back.

When she saw the white wedding gown that the stylists brought, she teared up with happiness. These boys planned her wedding without telling her but she was so happy and this surprise was worth it.

She knew that having a wedding ceremony in Edji was impossible but in Independent State it was legal. They really thought it out and she was grateful for that.

K stepped into the gown that shaped her body outlining her slender figure, narrow waist, long legs, average breasts, and long neck. She possessed a body worth of a model but she was not interested in anything like that. Being in the limelight was not her thing.

It didn’t take long before the gown was hugging her curves and the stilettos on her feet. She was taken out of the hotel and into the white limousine which drove to a chapel five kilometers away.

When she arrived at the chapel, she was taken into a waiting room where she sat on the white couch, the waiting room had a bride room sign on it so everyone will know that someone was getting married.

K was nervous as this was her first time getting married in her two lives but she was also happy as she was giving herself to the men that meant the world to her. She didn’t know what the future holds but she learnt to live for the moment as life was too short for regrets.

Her only regret at the moment was the fact that her brother was not here to witness such a wonderful thing. She will look for him and convince him one way or the other because she misses his lot.

It wasn’t a day to cry so she calmed herself down and waited for the time that she will be called to walk down the aisle.
