CHAPTER 44: THE TRUTH

The room was dark as there was no light in it, her hands and legs were both tied to a very ridiculous chair. She couldn’t believe that she had allowed herself to be kidnapped by those lowly scumbags.

If she didn’t want to see how this show was going to end, she wouldn’t have let those people touch her like that. The thought of breaking the bonds and the chair came up to her but before those two arrives she was going to play dead and that she did very well.

“I can’t wait to fuck that b***h up!” a female voice could be heard sneering and one could hear the hate the owner of the voice has towards K.

“Don’t worry darling, you can do whatever you want with her. The day I and your dad left her we cut all ties with her. If it wasn’t because that foolish cousin of mine left a lot of money behind when she died, I wouldn’t have agreed to take that bumpkin in,” Mary spoke with hatred in her voice the same as her daughter Emerald.

At that moment K who was pretending to be asleep woke up and opened her eyes. Her eyes were filled with grief and shock, for someone who just overheard how her biological mother and sister were treating her even though they were in front of her, her eyes were filled with tears.

“How…how can it be you?” K asked while trying to keep in her sobs from being heard.

“You thought you were all high and mighty that the Holmes adopted you? No matter where you go you will be known as an abandoned child that wasn’t even wanted by its parents. How dare you try to climb a ladder that you can’t afford?” Mary spoke and slapped her face with a force that left a handprint.

“What did I ever do to you? I never asked for anything from you except for you to just look at me and give me some love and attention. When did I ever do anything to cause you to hate me so much? Aren’t I too your daughter?” K threw these questions as tears flowed down her face that had been messed up with the slap that she had received a minute ago.

“So, what if I am your mother? To me, you are just a stain that I couldn’t get rid of. I should have aborted you when I had the chance or strangle you when I gave birth to you. You are just one carrier of bad luck. Our lives were messed up because of you, what gives you the right to crawl yourself back into our lives?”

“Mo……….moth_’

“Don’t let me hear that word coming out from your mouth?” her words were cut off instantly without her finishing calling her.

“You don’t have to look that pitiful elder sister, today I am going to mess with you so bad that you will either die today or suicide yourself after this.”

“Just what did I do to you? Were you also the ones that posted those lies on the internet?”

Like an innocent soul who wasn’t aware of the scheme of the world, K asked the most important question and waited for the two idiots to reveal their own crimes.

“Are you really that curious?” Emerald asked as she stomped on K’s foot making K scream with pain.

K could only nod her head in response as tears kept on streaming down her cheeks.

“Umm yes, I did it. What are you going to do about it?”

“I can’t do anything to you but I just want to know why are you doing this to me? When you pushed that girl back then two years ago, I took the fall and served two years in juvie and after everything, I went through why can’t you just let me off?”

“Umphh, who told you to aim for the guy that I chose and want? Because of your foolishness and greediness, you fell for the ploy, if there is someone to blame then blame yourself. Why didn’t you just die when you went through all that?”

“But ….. How….” K kept keeping the wronged and shocked version of herself which only made the two gloats more.

As a result, the pair of mother and daughter confessed to every tiny thing they did to her in order to make her suffer. To be honest, what she heard was really angering but as someone who had suffered worse than this, she wasn’t bothered much but she had to keep on the pretense after all the camera was rolling.

For one-hour, K was beaten, kicked, and slapped while they continued to gloat over her misfortune. K was tired of being used as a punching bag, her face was swollen and she needed some hot meal. Seeing them done confessing and shaming themselves, K decided that it was time for her to end this show and go back home.

She coughed three times which was a signal to her gang to cut off the live stream that had been happening from the second she got tied into the filthy room. When she heard the camera stops shooting, she straightened her head as well as her muscles which made the foolish pair look at her with curiosity.

“What do you think you are doing?” Mary asked as she had an inkling of what was happening.

“We have played enough, I am so hungry I want to go home and eat some hot food,” K said as she broke the restraints that were tying her thereby freeing herself.

Seeing this strength, the two women were shocked and fear was written all over their faces.

“Did you do this on purpose?” Emerald screamed at K as she realized that they must have been played by K.

K laughed out loud that it attracted the attention of the gang members who were outside.

“Beat her! Just get rid of her!” Emerald yelled at the burly men and they all came to her at once.

Seeing these ants’ K simply gave them one strike sending them to the ground. Since she knew that the police will be here shortly, she didn’t leave too much damage. She looked coldly at the two who were now cowering with fear trying to escape but she didn’t let them go.

K blew some sleeping powder towards the two making them fall to the ground and blackout instantly. She looked for a phone and called the gang.

“Are the police on its way?”

“Yes, it is. There will be there in five minutes.”

“Good, was the live stream a success?”

“It was; the feedback is great. You will not be disappointed when you see it.”

“I am glad to hear that. Now get rid of anything that can be traced back to you. Leave no records, understand!”

“We already got rid of everything.”

“Oh, post the materials on the Reid family online. It’s time to end this,” with this she ended the call and turned the phone into ash.

When she heard the sirens approaching, K inhaled the powder and fell on the ground too. So, when the police arrived, they only found a room full of sleeping people. As for whom had saved or caused this nothing could be traced.

On that day they were all taken to the hospital and it was lucky that K was alive just sleeping. She got treated for all the cuts and bruises she received during the beating and arrest warrants were issued for both Emerald and May Reid as they had confessed to a number of crimes that live unknowingly.

The police force couldn’t do anything to keep this news quiet as everyone was waiting for the updates. Thanks to the live stream the police had to hold a press conference to communicate with the public on the health of K as well as progress into the whole case.

That same day the Reid’s dealings were all exposed on the web and a video of Emerald being intimate and smutty with a group of men was also released smashing the innocent image she had created all these years. This worsened the issue since her nature had been exposed during the live stream.

Elvis had a heart attack when he saw how everything he had tirelessly worked for was just getting destroyed in just hours. Why did they have to go and attack K when she made it clear not to be disturbed?

He was sure that K was behind all of this, she had played those fools so well and now they had to pay. This was his retribution, he lamented but it was already too late. When his company’s shares dropped nonstop and when the police came with an arrest warrant for him, he simply accepted his fate.

He just prayed and hoped that his son will be able to make it through this tough time as he was the only one who had not been implicated by the whole kidnapping case.

Elvis Jnr. didn’t know whom his family had offended but he knew deep down inside that this outcome was just fair. His mother and sister had really dug a grave for themselves.

He didn’t even suspect K as he was aware that she was a fool that couldn’t fight for herself. So how will it be possible for her to scheme like that?
This was truly retribution.
