Chapter 16

The two next to me were leaning towards me. I sighed. Sandra leaned on my right shoulder while Vandel was on the left.

What do they think of me? A big pillow? I'm so thin.

We have been traveling for more than five hours, but I am still not sleepy. I haven't seen any people or even houses on our way. It was pure green. Green trees, grass, flowers, and even birds. It is very pleasing to the eyes.

I looked at them. Relm was silently sleeping in his area. While Eliora was leaning on Elara, who was also just closing her eyes to sleep. He was still driving while Miss Violet was guiding him.

"Miss Violet?" I called her.

She looked at me. "Why Meliora?"

I took a deep breath and looked at her. "I was contemplating something. When you were given a task.. then there was something wrong. It can harm or hurt certain people. Would you still do it? "

She then looked outside as if she was thinking deeply. At first she didn't say a word, then she smiled at me.

"If that is the right thing to do, you should do it," she answered.

She looked at me sadly. To be honest, I was battling against myself and my own decisions before. And one thing that I want to do now is to make things right, because that is the right thing I should do, "she added.

I smiled at her.

"I should be grateful to you someday."

Her forehead furrowed. I just laughed. She seemed confused by what I was saying.

"Don't take it seriously." I stated.

Suddenly, my eyes caught the view outside. It wasn't pure green anymore. They are weird. The trees are in different shapes and structures. Its leaves have different colors. In the distance, I see a town. Wait? Another land?

Even though we are still far away, I can clearly see it. The lights were extreme. I felt like I was in another dimension, another world.

I looked at Miss Violet, confused.

"What was that? Where are we? " I said while pointing at the scenery outside.

She chuckled. "We're in Namorn, the land of light."

"Lights?" I asked.

"Yes," Did you see that tree?" she said, pointing at the tree in front of us.

I nodded at her.

"It's colour is changing? Am I right? "

C-changing? I intently looked at it. My eyes widened. I was stunned by this. Indeed, it was changed. From pink to blue to green. Fantastic. That was awesome.

"Because that was made of light." Almost everything you see here is pure light," she explained.

I was still in awe. I never thought this land existed. I really don't see much in this world.

"Are there people living there?" I asked softly.

Miss Violet laughed hard. "Of course," she said.

"That land was the same as the land of Tamora. In power, schools, kingdoms, palaces, and of course, royalty. They have a King and a Queen. As far as I know, they have two children. A Princess and a Prince," she added.

W-wait? W-what?

I held my head as if processing what she was saying. Yes, I know that there are lands other than Tamora. But I had no idea they had their own heirarchy.

"You don't know this?" Copelan suddenly asked

I shook my head. "I know that they are from other lands, but I didn't know that they have their own school and kingdom."

"Our history sucks. What is always taught in Tamora is only about us. Yes, they mentioned the other land, but not that broad. Just their name and the royalty. " seriously he said.

"Because they were not close." Miss violet stated.

"We can enter that land." I suggest that we spend the night there, especially since the princess is with us. It's too dangerous, and I know you're hungry. " she said.

Copelan and I nodded.

I just looked outside while feeling the wind coming into the carriage. We were nearing the gate and I could feel the happy environment of the people inside. Even though there is a big gate before you enter, you can still see the lights dancing above. It was very alive and luminous. It looks like people are having fun inside.

I glanced at others. They are still asleep. Sandra had already moved and closed her eyes in her seat. while Vandel was still leaning on my shoulders. I even managed to fix his hair that was hitting his eyes.

"How can we get in?" I asked Miss Violet.

"They don't just let in someone they don't know. However..." she looked at the Princess.

"The Princess is here. I know the King and Queen know her. "

"Copelan, stop it on the side," she commanded.

Copelan stopped the carriage while Miss Violet suddenly got off. She went to the guard at the gate. I looked at them intently. She kept pointing at our carriage while talking to the guard. Another man came and ordered him something.

She returned to us and sat in her seat in front.

Let's wait. They inform the King and Queen of this land. I said, "The princess of Tamora is with us." She suddenly said.

I cannot wait. I want to see what's inside.

I often move in my seat because they might wake me up, especially with Vandel leaning on me. Until now, they are still sleeping soundly while I can't even sleep for a minute! Psh.

In the distance, I saw someone—the guard. He walks straight to us. I thought Miss Violet was going to meet him, but when I looked at her, she was also just waiting in her seat.

When he arrived, we immediately became silent. "The King says that you can enter and you will go to the palace. You will rest there. " He then bowed down.

"Thanks a lot!" Miss Violet said, smiling.

Copelan immediately drove the carriage in.

"Meliora, wake them up first." Miss Violet said to me.

I immediately followed it and woke them up one by one. Relm woke up first while rubbing his eyes, followed by Sandra, who was dumbfounded, and Elara and the Princess, who immediately arranged themselves on their seats.

I looked at Vandel. He was still sleeping. I slowly shook my shoulder to wake him up.

His eyes widened when he saw I was staring at him. "Wake up!" I said.

Does he know that I can hardly sleep because of the two of them?!

He smiled. He adjusted his seat while looking around.

"Where are we, Meliora?" Sandra asked while yawning. She looks outside. Suddenly, her eyes glisten, her mouth is open.

"We're at Namorn." I announced.

"What are we doing here?" the Princess asked gently.

"It's getting dark soon.We need to find a place to stay." Miss Violet answered as she looked ahead.

As I entered, I was even more amazed. I heard some comments from Sandra. This place was purely bright. We passed through the rushing crowd, and almost all of them were looking at us with smiles. It was a warm smile. They seemed to welcome us to their place. I scanned the whole place. There were people happily selling goods on the side, people dancing in the middle of the music, and I even saw someone singing while people could freely hear it.

"Is that their school?" Elara asked while pointing to the school standing above. It looks like a castle.

"Yes, it is," the Princess answered.

It's just like Tamora Academy. in the structure and the designs, but not in color. It is red in color with some green lines. We could hardly see it because there was a long aisle to walk down before entering.

"Where will we go?" suddenly Relm asked. He has been looking outside for a while.

"We're going to the palace." Miss Violet answered.

"Really?" Sandra exclaimed.

She looked at the princess. "I'm sorry, but we told them you were with us. We can't just walk in here, "she added.

The Princess smiled. "It's okay."

"We just have to spend the night here. We'll be leaving tomorrow morning." Miss Violet said to everyone.

And of course, we all agreed.

I frowned when I didn't even hear Vandel say a word. I looked at him. He only looks outside as if he's bored.

"Are you okay?" I suddenly asked He doesn't appear to be.

He looked at me and smiled. "Yes."

"You sure?" I asked again.

He just nodded. When I looked at them, they were all looking at us except for Miss Violet and Copelan, who were in front.

Sandra looked at us nonchalantly. She looked like a dumbass to us as both her hands were folded in front of her.

Relm suddenly coughed, followed by Sandra.

I just rolled my eyes.

I looked at the princess who was looking at me. My forehead furrowed. "What? Do you want to say something? "

"Nothing," she only answered, and looked outside.

I shrugged.

"Wow! We're close to the kingdom! " Relm said loudly.

He looked outside in amazement. He even waved his hands as if he was feeling the wind blowing us. I silently laughed.

I've never been to a palace before. This is actually my first time.

I chose to look outside. I no longer see homes and people here. It was pure trees, different kinds of flowers, butterflies that were flying freely above, and birds.

The carriage we were riding in suddenly stopped when we were in front of the red gate. There was a guard on each side of it.

Miss Violet went down first, and we followed. Our hair is flying freely because of the wind.

I took a deep breath.

Even the wind smells so sweet!

A guard stepped forward and gave us a wide smile before speaking.

"Welcome to the land of Namorn."
