Chapter 21

That was not the reaction that I expected. I thought that making me reassemble her features would make a huge difference, but no, it was worse.

How ironic.

I was still looking down while sitting here inside the carriage. Vandel just sat quietly by my side.

I was hurt deeply.

"Are you sure you are okay?" Vandel asked me for the nth time.

I looked at him and smiled sadly.

"Yes, let's just go back and find Kara ."

He looked at me intently, but I turned away. Maybe they think that I am doing this because of what the King said. Yes, a little, his words kept flashing through my mind, but no, there was a profound reason why.

I mentally sigh.

I looked outside when I saw Sandra and others exiting the big gate. Her face showed a lot of worry and confusion. She took big steps as she approached us.

"Are you okay, Meliora?" Sandra said instantly after entering the carriage. He looked at Vandel before looking at me.

"Yes." I answered honestly.

Yes, I'm okay. I just thought that the King would only react that way because it was her daughter that was being talked about.

 

"That was too much. Kara is strong; we know she can handle herself! " Sandra said loudly.

"Yes!" Relm was seconded.

"That's right, you duck, stay by my side!" Sandra said to Relm.

"That name again!" he snorted.

I silently smiled.

"Although Kara can handle herself, she is still the Princess and her safety is our mission." Vandel suddenly said.

The two did not answer and became silent. Suddenly, Copelan and Elara came in and went to us.

"Are you okay, Meliora?" Elara said softly.

"Yes, let's go. Let's find Kara. " I replied with a smile.

Copelan just smiled at me with concern. I sigh.

Copelan nodded and went to the front with Elara. As always, Copelan will be the driverwith Elara. As always, Copelan will be the driver, with Elara at his side. While in the back were me, Vandel, Sandra, and Relm.

"Where should we look for Kara first?" Relm asked us all.

"Yes! Where? Our land is so wide! " Sandra said and rolled her eyes.

Relm suddenly screamed when the box-shaped thing that Vandel was carrying earlier rang.

"Oh God! What's that? " Relm shouted as he pointed to the glowing box shape.

Vandel sighed before taking it.

Sandra looked at it in amazement. While Relm was still like a stupid scream,

Vandel clicked the green button and placed it in his left ear.

"Hello?"

He suddenly frowned.

"Okay. We'll be right back! "

He immediately put it down and looked at us.

"Kara's back! She's at the Academy! "

"Pardon?" Sandra asked. She's already at the Academy? Where did she go?" she added.

"The headmistress didn't say anything.She just said we should go back because Kara is already there. Then she hung up. " Vandel answered.

Their foreheads are still wrinkled.

I mentally smiled. She must have wandered around.

"Let's hurry, Copelan!" Elara said in front. She was restless in her seat. Of course, she wanted to see Kara.

I looked at Sandra. She caught me looking at him. I teasingly smile at her.

"Don't give me that look, Meliora! I won't cry anymore! "she whispered.

I laughed.

She rolled her eyes. "Go back to Meliora, who was crouching earlier!"

I kept quiet and looked at her intently, but she just stuck her tongue out like a child.

 

"But why all of a sudden? Did Kara just go out for a walk? Get some fresh air?" Sandra asked.

They were all thinking because of what she said. If I'm not mistaken, she only lost about three hours.

"Maybe yes, maybe no! We won't know until we talk to Kara. " Elara answered softly.

"The king won't be angry anymore!" Sandra said and rolled her eyes.

I held my breath and chose to look outside.

I knew we were close to the academy because I could slowly see the paths we used to take. Little by little, it became familiar.

After arriving, Elara immediately got off the carriage and went in first, while we got off the back and followed Elara. We agreed. Copelan decided that he would deliver the carriage to its owner, and we agreed.

There is no noise between us. I sneak a peek to see their faces. There is still a trace of confusion and frowning. They will surely throw a lot of questions at Kara later.

Let's see!

Relm opened the door for us. When we entered, Kara was just casually sitting next to the Headmistress, while Elara was next to her with a hint of worry. Miss Violet is sitting and looking at us. We immediately sat in the empty seats.

"Where did you go, Kara?" Elara asked, breaking the silence.

But Kara was just staring at the wall; she didn't even pay attention to us.

"We went to the palace. You weren't there." Sandra said.

She suddenly looked at Sandra. "W-what? You guys came from the p-palace? "

Elara sighed. "Yes, we are looking for you there."

"You shouldn't have gone to the palace!" she shouted.

"Why? We thought that you came home. " Elara asked softly.

Kara didn't answer and looked away.

"Are you sure you're alright, Kara?" The Headmistress asks her, there is a trace of worry on her face.

"Where have you been?" She added

"N-I'm just getting some air," she stuttered.

Their foreheads were furrowed. I stare at her actions and expressions. I hope he did a good job.

The Headmistress casts another glance at Kara."Go back to your dorm and rest," she advises.

Relm and Sandra said "yes". While Miss Violet just looked at us and didn't say a word,

"Let's go." Vandel abruptly said and moved ahead of us.

Sandra accompanied me as I followed him.Elara immediately followed Kara out, and Copelan walked casually while Relm was juggling up and down.

Sandra hit him when he was on her side. "You're like a gay duck.A jumping duck! "

"Shut up Sandra. You're just jealous! " Relm snorted.

"You're so irritating! What an eyesore!" Sandra said, irritated.

I laughed out loud.

"Shut up Meliora!" the two said at the same time.

I just rolled my eyes in response.

"Let's go!" I said and went ahead of them.

After we arrived at the dorm, I immediately went upstairs. This day is tiring. I open the window and stare at the moon.

I sigh.

It's a good thing we got back right away, and it's a good thing that Kara is back.

I changed my clothes and wore my sleeping clothes. I want to go to sleep, but what the king told me earlier comes back to me over and over again. Does he love Kara that much? Did he not recognize me? Has my face changed?

However, at least I've started. It's just a matter of time before everyone knows.

I chose to lie down and close my eyes.
