Chapter 5

We were silently walking towards the garden. When I said we were, I meant Vandel and I.

Yes, and almost everyone we pass is either shocked, dumbfounded, or gaping.

I don't know if they are too exaggerated or if that's just the effect he has on people. But I can't blame them. As I looked closely at him earlier at the door, he was like a beautiful bird that sang well, so that everyone looked at him.

 

Nevertheless, for Pete's sake, we haven't seen each other for almost seven years and yet he's going to do just that?! From what I saw today, it is better to go to him than for him to go to me. It's less hassle, less crowd, fewer people. But what happens now?

My eyebrows still met and frowned as we walked. when he suddenly spoke.

"Mel, you should talk to me!" he said, while fixing his gaze on mine.

 

I looked back at him but instantly regretted it. I felt my cheeks starting to burn a bit. I faked a cough and replied, "Didn't I say I'd go to you?" I calmly said.

 

He looked confused. "You never said that!" he replied.

 

He's right, I was stun at the moment. All I did was stare at him, mouthed 'later', and continued to eat. What a stupid reply from Meli.

 

He suddenly chuckled. "Why? Do you know where I was?

I frowned. "I will ask the student."

 

He did not reply and just ruffled my hair. I pouted about what he did. I instantly fix my hair and try to change my attention to other things.

 

But my eyes widened with amazement. This garden is freakin' awesome. The bench is made of wood that has been carved to look beautiful. The flowers are dancing with the wind with their different colours and variety. The trees are lined equally.

 

Fantastic!

I took deep breaths. Even the wind smells fresh and feels so good.

 

We sat down . "What brings you here?" he asked.

 

I paused. I felt that he intently looked at me. "Why? Am I not allowed to study here? " I replied.

 

He instantly shook his head, "N-no, I mean.. I didn't mean to ask that. I was trying to say, I thought you were in our homeland. "

 

A smile formed on my lips. I looked at him. I paused. "I have something to do here. I-I need to study!" I quickly continued.

I could see the confusion in his eyes. With that look, I knew he didn't believe me. However, he remained quiet and chose to fix his gaze on the surroundings.

 

We became silent. None of us talked nor asked a question. I remain to appreciate the looks around the area. I secretly look at him, but he's just staring at the tree from afar. I sighed. I didn't know what he was thinking about.

 

"I miss you," he suddenly said.

"Hmm, I miss you too." I responded consciously.

 

"How are aunt and uncle? Where are they? " I started to ask.

He smiled. "They are okay. They are here in Tamora. Surely they miss you. "

 

I smiled. "Good to know." I teasingly looked at him. "You're an elite now. I heard elites are the powerful students here. You're too far." I laughed. "Before, you were just a kid asking my help to pick a flower from a tree." When I think back on those times, I smile.Those were some of the best days of my life.

 

He was about to say something when a group of students passed by. I looked at him confused. He straightened his back, returning to his emotionless face but maintaining our distance. I silently laughed. This is his image.

 

"Protect your image." I suddenly said he didn't respond, not until those students were nowhere to be seen.

He chuckled. "No, I was just keeping my distance from others."

"Then why are you here?" I asked.

He didn't reply and just scrawled his back. I secretly smiled, "Go back to your dorm, the sun is about to set." I said as I looked above.

 

He ruffled my hair again. "You too. I'm going to take you to Girl's Dorm," he said.

 

I looked at him. "No, I can go home."

 

He insisted, but I won. I looked at him, walking. He dominated the aisle with his presence. Every person turned their heads towards him. I was about to look away but my unconsciousness wouldn't allow my eyes to fixate on everything else. I quickly shook my head with that thought.

 

When I couldn't see him anymore, I chose to leave. I could still see people glancing at me, but I managed to ignore them. Perhaps they just want to know what connection I have with the leader of the elite and how I talked to him.

 

When I entered the dorm, I first saw Ava's frowning face. She was still stunned at the moment. I sighed.

When she saw me, she shouted. "Meliora! OMG! Tell me quickly, I need some details. Where is V-Vandel? Where is he? " She shouted.

 

Then it occurred to me that she was asleep earlier. I laughed at that thought.

 

"He left," I answered softly while preparing something to cook. I'm so hungry.

 

She quickly went to my side. "What?! Why did you send him home? Meliora, you should have fed him here." she said, with that creepy smile on her lips.

I laughed. "Wow, it looks like you didn't pass out earlier!"

"Don't talk about it; it is so embarrassing!" She frowned and said "I couldn't handle it. Meliora, he was so close to me, I feel like I'm going to pass out! Which I did! "she added.

 

I laughed and chose to cook instead of listening to Avalie, who until now was talking about Vandel and other members of Elite.

 

"Avalie, let's eat." I called her and that made her stop.

 

 

"Meliora, what happened after I passed out?" It's a shame I didn't see your Vandel for a long time. " She said with a sneer.

 

I hit her in her arm, "What are your? Shut up! "

 

"It hurts; look at your face; it's all red now!"She laughed hard. I ignored her words, and said, "Your Drake brought you here." I teasingly said, she choked for a second. That made me laugh. "What? Drake brought me here!

I laughed, "Have you seen your face in the mirror? It is all red now!"

" Be quiet!" she shouted.

"Tell me, Meliora. What happened to the both of you?" She then asked.

I looked at her confused. "Talked?" I replied uncertainly.

We were probably talking What should it be?

"Really? Is that all? It's weak!" she said sadly.

"What was that?! Your thoughts, Avalie! "

"Are you okay? Your thoughts, Meliora! "she said, mimicking my voice. We laughed.

"Hurry up, you're the one to wash the dishes." I said, then left.

I entered my room smiling. I will surely miss Avalie. My day was very long today. I chose to take a shower. I wear silky sleeping clothes, which are black in colour. I was about to put some skincare on my face when I heard a sudden knock on my door.

I opened it, revealing Avalie grinning. "Meliora was just right on time. Skin care time!" she said, as if it was an announcement.

 

She grabbed my comb and used it as a microphone. I sighed. "Okay fellas, everybody! Attention everyone, we will witness the most promising skin care of all time." Then she clapped her hands. I sighed again.

She gave me the comb back."Come on, Meliora, show it to me and tell me about your skin care!"She said it like a child.

 

I sigh, "Come on!" I said while entering my bathroom. The bathroom is pure marble. It has a medium-length mirror on the right side, together with a faucet and a mini table. On the left side , another door for call of nature and strong call of nature.

Her eyes were glistening in happiness and excitement. I smiled. "This is my skin care routine. Tada! " I said while preparing the products. These products were all natural; they were purely made from the plants in the forest and some of them were produced by me.

I wash my face with water. "First I use this kind of thing, then this..." I demonstrated.Her eyebrows rose, but I continued to show her my products.

"Meliora, where did you get this?" she asked.

 

"I'm going to sleep now, Ava. I'll tell you tomorrow." I lazily replied.

"Yes! Okay, sleep well Meliora," she said and planted a kiss on my cheek.

"Goodnight, Ava." I smiled.

I lay on my bed and stared at the ceiling. Then I remembered the time when I was about to go to Tamora Academy. Our conversation was still vivid.

"What is your plan?" she asked.

"Do the same thing." I casually said.

"What?! abduct the princess again? " se asked, confusedly.

"Who knows?" I shrugged.

She sighed. "Make sure to be safe always, Meli."

I smiled, "Yes, you too. Be safe always! "

"Don't worry about me, worry yourself. You're alone there. I'm not there to protect you," she calmly replied.

"Yes, I will."

I don't want to rush things, but I need to do this as soon as possible.
