Chapter 34

The announcer started pulling out the number of contestants again, but because Copelan was done, they didn't bother to look at what was happening.

"What's the next round?" Sandra suddenly asked us

"Whatever it is, We have to win. " I whispered to her.

"I have a question." The princess suddenly said.

We all looked at her because she was sitting in the middle and we could hear what she had to say.

"What if the prize doesn't include the book?" she whispers to us.

"We will find it." Vandel immediately answered her.

"Celes said it was the students who took the book. Who would be interested in that book in Salla except the students and the headmaster? No one knew what it was or what it was for. That's why I knew it was just here, inside the academy. " I gave them a long explanation.

They nodded and did not say a word.

I turned my gaze to Headmaster Kane. He was just sitting at the top of the stage while happily looking at the students below. I wonder what's going on in his mind? Like him, I also looked at the participants below.

It was a boy from the group Tribes and also a boy from the group Shin. I turned my gaze to the big screen.

"Sunny versus Zeke." I read it and the ten minutes were almost up.

Their fight was intense. Sunny has strength magic while Zeke has gravity magic. Zeke didn't do anything but avoid all of Sunny's punches and kicks. Even though Sunny's movement was very fast, Zeke was still catching them. When Zeke was suddenly punched in the face, he flew up to the wall of the stadium. Luckily, he had gravity magic. He uses it so he doesn't crash into the wall; he instantly makes himself float and returns to the middle of the stadium.

"What the heck?" I heard Sandra complain from my side.

Sunny was about to kick him again when he suddenly knelt right in front of Zeke. Sunny lost consciousness. Zeke wasted no time and did a roundhouse kick to Sunny straight in the face.

The crowd immediately cheered. The ten minutes were over, so the announcer went up to the stage with Headmister Kane.

"Congratulations to all the winners." Headmister Kane said.

"Let's move on to the 3rd and last round."

"All participants go to the center," the announcer said.

We immediately followed and got down one by one and walked to the center. I can feel the tension building in all of us. We looked at everyone in the entablature.

"It's an all-around battle!" Headmister declared loudly.

I was almost deafened by the shouts of the audience. But none of us made any noise. Suddenly, the circular walls came out in the middle, so it was as if we were trapped in the middle. But the other students can clearly see us.

Each group immediately separated. Some went to the side, and some stayed in the middle, but we had a great distance from each other.

"Let's go to the edge!" Vandel softly whispered to us, which we immediately followed.

"We called this the Last Group Standing! Whichever group remains the winner. "

"Let's start now!" added the headmaster's announcement.

We all got ready immediately. Suddenly, the loud bell rang and the big screen lit up. That's where the letters of our name and the number we hold are formed.

The audience cheered immediately. Just like them, Headmaster Kane was also at the top, watching us from below.

"So? What's the plan? " Sandra whispered softly to us.

"Defeat all of them," Vandel answered.

 

We nodded at him, but within a few seconds, they instantly surrounded us. We were in front together with Vandel and Copelan, while Sandra and others were behind us. It's a good thing we were on the edge, so no other mages were behind us.

They look at us deadly, especially Clover, who is with May now. I looked around at them all.

W-wait? Where is the group Alpha? W-wait? Where is the group Alpha? I just thought their name. I saw them just standing in the back looking at us.

What are they all planning?

"Who the hell are all of you?" a woman suddenly asked us. I can't tell who this group is because they are all mixed up, except for Alpha, who is all behind.

"We're just nobody." I answered her.

"What are you doing here? You don't belong here? " asked a man more insistently.

I looked at him intently because of his question. How little do they think of us?

Just as he asked those questions, he suddenly released a black cloud and it was coming towards us. We were just standing in the middle watching it slowly coming to us. When it was only a span away from us, it suddenly returned to them. Their eyes widened in disbelief, but that was the signal for them all to run.

We split up as they branched out to attack us. I ended up in the middle as someone attacked me. I was suddenly bent down by the locusts that suddenly passed me. I looked at the person who made it, and it was a man from the Clover group.

He changed his pistol into a dagger and rushed at me. I even saw him smirk. What makes him think I don't know how to fight without power?

He attacked me without hesitation, and I simply avoided him as he attempted to aim at my face.I kicked his leg so hard that he tripped. He abruptly switched his weapon to a sword.What the?

I sighed heavily and made a sword made of ice. I concentrated, and suddenly a sword appeared in my hand. I raised my eyebrows as he looked at me in amazement.

We clung to each other's swords, and I could hear the sound of swords clashing. He's fast and I admit that he can match my speed, but it's still not enough.

"Sorry." I said before I slammed my sword into both of his legs. Now he is sitting on the floor holding his two bleeding legs. He gave me a hard stare, but I ignored him.

"This is a game." I only said it to him and left. I suddenly put down the sword I was carrying and looked for an opponent.

I looked around at all of them. Sandra had an opponent who was a woman, but she was at a disadvantage at the moment. Sandra was even smiling. The Princess and Elara were together while there were two male opponents, and Relm was sitting while there were three mages dug underneath. He made a big hole. What the?!

I immediately came to him. "Hey Meli!" he still greets me. I looked down, and he was following me. There were two men and a woman at the bottom; their feet up to their necks were buried under the bottom and only their heads were not. The two of them are from the Clover group. I looked at Relm. He raised his eyebrows.

"I'm great, right?" he happily said.

I stroked his shoulder. "Continue," I said as I walked away.

I was about to go to Vandel when two mythical creatures belonging to Charles suddenly attacked. I immediately avoided it and they voluntarily returned to Charles.

I secretly smirked. Really?
