Chapter 18

Until now, we have been sitting in the dining room. I glanced at Vandel. Boredom was obviously written on his face, so I did. We have been sitting here for almost an hour watching the Queen happily talking to others.

Including others, especially Relm and Sandra. You can almost hear their voices in the room because they're so tired.

I snorted as I lightly stomped my foot underneath. I want to go. I suddenly hear Vandel chuckling. I quickly turn to him.

"Why are you laughing?" I whispered in his ear.

He instantly avoided me and mumbled something. I also saw his ears become red and the sound of his chest beating.

He looked away. "N-nothing," he answered.

My forehead furrowed at his answer because he looked sick. "Are you okay?" I suddenly put my hands on his forehead.

"I'll go first!" he suddenly said to the king.

Everyone looks at him, confused.

"I badly need to rest," he said.

The King smiled. "Okay. Just follow the maid. " then he called a name. "Evi, take him to his room."

"Follow me," the maid said, bowing her head. This is my chance.

I suddenly stood up. "Me too. Thank you very much for the food. " I said and pulled Vandel to the side. He looked at me, but I instantly bowed to the King and Queen and followed the maid and pulled Vandel on his wrist.

 

"Here are your rooms," said the maid. She then bows before going back downstairs. We said 'thank you' before she left.

Vandel was about to open the door to his room when I called him. "Why did you leave there?" I asked, confused.

 

"I was tired." He said and smiled, You?" he asked.

"The prince's stare creeps me out!"I exclaimed.

He ruffled her hair. "Just don't mind him."

"Yes," I will. "

 

He nodded. "Take a rest," he said before entering his room. I also did the same thing and opened my room. It was the same room in our dorms. I immediately jumped towards my bed and stared at the ceiling.

How did I end up here?

I sigh as I close my eyes until I hear nothing.

 

 

I woke up to a series of knocks on the door. I immediately got up and opened it.

It was Sandra, who was anxiously walking in front of it.

"What now?" I lazily said.

"Meliora! Hurry! The Academy was under attack by an unknown!" she said loudly.

My eyes widened. "What?!"

I quickly got ready and went down. After coming down, they were all in the living room, and while Kara was crying, she was consoled by the queen.

When they saw me, they suddenly stood up. They're waiting for me!

"We need to be in a hurry!" Miss Violet said.

"Trust Selena and the other students. They will not abandon the academy and the mages. " King said to us, to makes us calm."

"Let's go!" Vandel seriously said.

They nodded. One by one, they said goodbye to the King and Queen and went out.

"Thank you for your help. We'll be going first. " Miss Violet thanked the King and Queen.

"Thanks a lot." Vandel bowed my head a little before following them. I followed him also.

When we got inside the carriage, Copelan started it immediately as I watched them one by one. They were seriously looking into the void. There was not a single sound between them except the princess sobbing.

My gaze landed on Miss Violet, worriedly looking ahead. Why? Is this the first time the academy has been attacked?

I mentally sighed. I hope they're okay!

I turn my gaze to others. "What happened to Tamora?" Vandel suddenly asked.

"The Queen got a message from the Headmistress." She said the academy was under attack. But she didn't include who they are nor what they are. She also said to protect our princess. That's all. " Sandra answered.

"That's why I'm rushing to see you. I know they can protect the Academy, especially the Headmistress, but we don't know who and what they are. " Relm also said to him.

"We just disappeared from the academy. Something was already happening. Just stay behind Kara, your safety is still our mission." Vandel suddenly said seriously.

 

"Just be ready. We don't know what will happen there." Miss Violet said that makes everyone became silent.

 

 

 

"We're almost there!" As Copelan announced to us,

We all nod and get ready to go down.

"Are you okay?" I asked Vandel. Until now, he hasn't moved and he's very serious.

"Yes." He answered and slightly smiled.

I silently sigh.

From here we can see the gate of the Academy, and I can already feel that something is happening here. Before, there were abundant plants and flowers outside here, but now there are none and they are just shy. They didn't bloom . It's like they sympathize with what's going on. The fireflies and butterflies that used to wander around are now gone. This is not good.

When we finally got to the gate, we got off one by one. It was Relm himself who opened the gate for us to enter.

When it was opened, my jaw dropped in an instant. C-centaur? Mammoth? Dragons? That's just one of the things we see right now, and it seems that they are looking for something.

 

What exactly are they doing here?

As the other elites are shock seeing those mythical creatures, I secretly use magic to talk to them. They instantly turn their heads towards us, which makes the others exclaim.

 

"Wait? Are they mythical creatures? " Sandra said in awe.

"W-woah! I just saw them right in front of my eyes! " Relm exclaimed.

"Are we going to fight them?" Elara asked.

"No! Let's go to the Headmistress first. " Miss Violet answered.

"No! They can hurt other mages! "Princess yelled angrily.

I quickly stared at her. How dare she say those words? I was about to say something when Miss Violet suddenly started talking.

She looked at her intently. "They are mythical creatures that are part of our world. Do not try to hurt them. They won't hurt you if you don't hurt them. That is their nature." She answered the Princess, which made the Princess's eyebrow rise, but she didn't reply to Miss Violet.

"Are you really a princess? You don't even know about them? " Miss Violet added, That makes Princess Kara upset. I saw how she clenched her fist, and she intently looked at Miss Violet.

 

"How dare you---" the Princess shouted when Vandel stopped her.

 

"Enough," Vandel said to her gently.

 

She seems to obey him because I saw how she turns her head and takes a deep breath.

"Look at them; it's like they're just looking for something." Sandra suddenly said, pointing at them.

My eyes widened when they were about to walk towards us.

"Let's go to the Headmistress's office and ask what really happened." I immediately said to them

 

They all agreed. I sigh deeply as we start to walk towards the office of the Headmistress. We even met some students who seemed surprised because they had just seen us.

 

I turn to the mythical creatures once again, "Go home, now!" I mumbled in the air.

Suddenly, Princess Kara stopped and looked at each one of us, "I will be at the dorm. Tell the headmistress that I'm tired." she said.

 

"Do you want me to accompany you?" Elara asked her worriedly.

But she shook her head and left, saying, "No thanks."

 

We watched her as she walked away. They were about to follow her when I stopped them. "Let her be." I said. They seemed to look worried, but I smiled at them, "I'm sure she just needs alone time." I assured them. They sigh in relief.

 

"Let's go!" Miss Violet said, and started to walk towards the office of the Headmistress. We immediately followed her.

Vandel opened the door for us. The Headmistress was startled when she saw us. She suddenly dropped the piece of paper she was reading and tucked it under.

What was that?

We sat down one by one. She glanced at each one of us.

"Violet, welcome back!"

Her forehead furrowed and she immediately stood up. "Where's Kara?" she shouted.

 

"She said she was tired and went to their dorm." Miss Violet answered her.

The Headmistress seemed relieved and sat down. She then turned her head to us.

"What happened, Headmistress?" Vandel asked.

"I thought we were attacked. Those creatures—"

"Mythical creatures!" I corrected.

She then looked at me. "T-those mythical creatures. I thought they were going to attack us, the academy, but were wrong. They were after the Princess. They—"

"Wait? Princess? Our princess? " Elara asked.

"Yes, They were searching for their princess. They were waiting for Kara. Selena said while looking at the window.

My eyebrows rose. Their princess? I mentally smirked.

"Why didn't they come to Princess Kara when they saw the princess earlier?" I asked innocently.

Her eyes widen. She clears her throat before she speaks. "A-hm, maybe they didn't see it."

I feigned my confused face. "As far as I know, mythical creatures are bound to the princess. Even if she is far away, they will recognize her. "

Their foreheads were furrowed except for Miss Violet and the headmistress. She looked at me intently. I chuckled, "I was just kidding."

"Why did they suddenly appear?" Relm asked.

"Maybe because they miss their princess?" Sandra answered.

"How did you know they wanted to see the princess?" Copelan asked the

Good question.

"We have a mage that can talk to any animal, including those mythical creatures. She said that those mythical creatures were searching for their princess. They want to see her.

"What are we waiting for? Let's go to the dorm and bring Kara. " Sandra suggested

 

"Let's go!" Vandel said that makes everyone stoop up. I quickly followed them as they were about to exit the room.

"N-no, I think we shouldn't." The Headmistress said anxiously.

"Why? They're looking for their princess, right? " Suddenly, Miss Violet intervenes.

Vandel and others quickly went out while I stared at the Headmistress, who looked at Miss Violet with questioning eyes.
