Chapter 26

"Meliora, wake up! The Headmistress is calling us." Sandra shouted outside my door.

I don't feel like getting up. I shivered when the fresh air came in. Right. I forgot to close the window. When I looked at the sky, there was no light to be seen.

What time is it?

"Meliora?" Sandra still shouted outside.

I quickly stood up and opened the door. She frowned at me.

"I've been here for a while! Get dressed and we'll go to the headmistress," she said.

"Okay." was my only answer.

What are we going to do at this time? I sigh.

I chose to shower and get dressed. I didn't bother looking in the mirror and instead combed my hair.I opened the door and entered the living room.

When I arrived, I found them all sitting, and I was the only one waiting. I secretly frowned. Why do they wake up so early?

"Let's go." Vandel said softly.

They all stood up and followed him while Sandra joined me.

"What are we going to do?" I asked. Did the Headmistress forget that we came from the Princess's party last night? How many hours did I sleep?

Sandra sighed before answering. "The Headmistress said she needs us as soon as possible.I don't even know why."

I didn't answer and just walked quietly. Vandel and others didn't bother to talk as well. We walked silently to the Headmistress's office.

When we arrived, Vandel immediately opened the door. I glanced at the Headmistress. She was just looking out her window. I frowned when I didn't see Miss Violet. Perhaps she's asleep.

She then faced us. "I got a letter again."

"Headmistress! You keep saying that over and over again! I want to sleep! " Relm frowned. He was still wide awake and leaning on Copelan's shoulder.

The Headmistress sighed heavily. "This is different."

She showed us the letter. As before, it is still written on brown paper, but the letters written on it are different.

"Find the sacred book." I read what was written.

Their brows furrowed, but my pupils dilated. How? Their faces showed that they did not understand what was written.

They didn't know about this book?!

"What's in that book, Headmistress?" Sandra asked.

"I've never heard or seen that." Relm seconded.

The Princess and the others just listened silently.

I've been looking for that book for a long time, but the one who hides it is naturally good. We didn't know then where it is now. But this book is written by the last queen. It is significant to the Tamoran. It contains a lot of useful things.

"As written, you need to find that book." The Headmistress said

But why? Is this really necessary, Headmistress? "the Princess suddenly asked.

"Yes." The Headmistress immediately answered. I don't know what's going through her mind, but I need to find this book.

"Give me a good reason, Headmistress. We don't know who sent that, but we'll follow it anyway. Who does he think he is?" the Princess insisted.

"We don't know what the purpose of the person sending that letter is. What if it's for evil?!" she added.

I was secretly shocked by her reactions. She never reacts this way.

"This is your second mission, Elite." The Headmistress said she did not listen to what the Princess said; she just looked at us.

I silently smiled. It seems to me that the Headmistress knows what the book is for and who owns it, but instead of banning us, she herself encourages us to find it. It looks like they're on the right side.

"As your headmistress, you have to find it." She looked at the princess. "For you to not get hurt, you have to stay here, Kara. We still have to protect you." She said to her again.

"No! I'll come as long as I want!" the Princess insisted.

Sandra's eyebrow suddenly raised because of the Princess's answer, while Elara's brow furrowed. Copelan and Vandel seemed not to bother, and Relm was sleeping in his chair.

"You don't act like this, Kara. Do you have a problem?" Elara asked softly.

The Princess suddenly came to her senses and sighed."No, I'm sorry for being rude. But I want to come, Headmistress. " She said softly.

The Headmistress couldn't do anything but nod. The Princess smiled because of her response.

"Where do we find that book, Headmistress?" Vandel asked the Headmistress seriously.

"I've been keeping this book from one of my best friends for a long time. Her name is Celes. I know she lives in Salla, so you will find her there," she stated.

The book was in Salla!

I looked at Vandel, who was looking at me. It's our hometown. When Vandel left Salla, I also left there.

She gave me a mission to find this book. She also gave me a heads-up that this book was in the hand of a sorcerer. That is why I flew to Tamora to find it, but it was nowhere to be found. I didn't see a single sorcerer here except for the Headmistress, and I was too young to enter here.

"When are we leaving, Headmistress?" I asked.

Salla is in the eastern part of Tamora, and like the land of Bora, it is more than a day's journey to reach it.

"Now. Pack some things, like the first mission; you will be traveling for more than a day. " The Headmistress answered.

She took out a picture on her desk and gave it to all of us.

"That was the sacred book. That's what you'll be looking for. "

I looked at it carefully. The cover was black. There was a sacred book. There was a woman. She was wearing a long dress and had long black hair.

"Who's this?" asked Relm, who was now awake.

"She's the owner." The Headmistress answered.

"Get ready. I'll take care of your carriage. You may go and please take care of each other, especially Kara," she added.

"Yes, Miss." we all answered.

We stood up one by one and went out the door. Vandel and the Princess are ahead, while Sandra and Relm are behind us.

"Until now, I still can't believe that we are being given a mission." Relm said with a snort while clinging to me.

"You're just lazy! And don't cling to Meliora! " Sandra snorted and even separated me from Relm. She exchanged our positions, so she is now in the middle and next to Relm, while I am on the side.

"Then I'll cling to you!" Relm said and held on to Sandra.

I mentally laughed when Sandra suddenly blushed. She turned to stone as Relm walked up and clung to her arm.

"Don't take it too seriously." I whispered. Suddenly, she looked at me with wide eyes. She quickly separated Relm from her and took her place with me.

I sigh heavily. What do I do here?

"Y-you can h-hold on to Meliora ! I'm giving you permission. " Sandra stuttered.

Relm said "yes" and really clung to me. I don't feel like walking among them. My head aches for both of them!

When we got to the dorm, we immediately got ready. I didn't see the others because we were late with Sandra walking. I only get some clothes to wear. I put them in a backpack. I changed my clothes into comfortable ones. I put on a jacket because the temperature in Salla is too cold compared to here in Tamora.

I chose to go down and lock the door. When Vandel came down, I sat beside me on the sofa.

"Where are the others?" I asked when he sat down.

He looked at what I was wearing and what I was carrying before answering. "Maybe they're not done yet," he answered.

"Did you tell them that's where we used to live?" I asked.

"No, maybe later."

"We can stay at my house there." I said.

"Are you sure?"

I smiled at him before answering. "Yes," Isn't your house already destroyed there? "

He ruffled my hair and chuckled. "Okay."

They came down one by one. When we were ready, I stood up as well as Vandel.

"Let's go." Vandel said when he saw that we were all complete.

"Let's go to the headmistress first," he added.

We all nod. The Princess and Elara were walking together while the boys were behind them, and Sandra and I were at the very back. I looked around, because it was too early and there were no students wandering around now.

"I'm so excited." Sandra whispered to me.

"Huh? Why?" I wondered.

She rolled her eyes. "What are you doing, Meliora?" It's also vacation and I haven't been to Salla yet. " She answered happily.

I chuckled. "I used to live there."

Her eyes widen. "Really?" she shouted.

I covered her mouth. "Yes, don't make it too loud!"

She nodded simultaneously. "Let's go!" she said loudly and pulled me forward.

I facepalmed. Sandra's eyes glistened with excitement. She dragged me into the Headmistress's office, leaving everyone behind. She sat down first while looking at the Headmistress.

"Headmistress, where is our car?" she instantly asked.

"Why are they so slow?"

"Where are they now?"

It's one question after another. I smacked her."It's not even a minute before we get here, Sandra." I replied softly and took a seat next to her.

One by one, they came and sat down.
