Chapter 38

Today is the day we will return to Tamora, carrying the things we won.

"Meliora! What is this thing doing here?"Sandra asked as she saw the werewolf and Manticore sitting on our living room floor.

I mentally rolled my eyes. I got some water and drank it before I answered her.

"I'll just return it to the owner."

She frowned. "You borrowed that?"

"Yes, I'll bring it back now. There's food on the table; eat first. I'll be right back. " I said before going out.

The two mythical creatures followed me, so almost all the students looked at me with their mouths agape. I just ignored it and went to where Rogue and I were supposed to meet.

It's still too early in Salla, but almost all of the students have gathered in front of the gate to await the mages who will assign them their mission. They don't look tired; maybe they are used to waking up early. Unlike us, Sandra and I were the only ones awake.

I was close to the Academy garden when I spotted Rogue and Charles sitting on one of the benches here. I sped up my pace. They noticed me approaching. They immediately adjusted their seats. I silently chuckled when I saw that Rogue combed her hair that was messed up because of the wind.

"Hi?" I first said the two.

They immediately stood up. "Good morning, Meliora," the two said simultaneously. They looked at each other. I laughed, so they turned to me.

"This is the mythical creature." I said. Charles' face immediately lit up when he saw the two. The two approached Charles and rubbed their heads against his thigh.

"Thank you." Rogue suddenly said to me.

I shook my head at him. "No, I should be grateful to you."

He scratched the back of his neck. "Maybe you want to go for a walk; there is a nice sight here in Salla," he suggested.

I sighed heavily. "We're going home now." They suddenly turned to me with questioning eyes.

"We're from Tamora. But me and Vandel lived here when we were young. But we have to go back. "

"What?! Why are you here? " Charles said in surprise.

"We are not here to cause any trouble, we just need something for which we already have it." I answered him.

He nodded at me and turned his gaze to the two mythical creatures. As I looked at Rogue, sadness was visible in his eyes.

"Hey, Protect the academy as well as the people. The students respect you, and you are strong. Protect them from any form of nuisance. Understood? " I patted his shoulder.

"Are you still coming back?"

"I don't know. I live in Tamora. " I said and stood up.

"Be careful, I'll go first." I added.

"Thank you, Meliora. You too. " Rogue said with a smile.

"Thank you too, Meliora." said Charles.

I patted the two on the shoulder before starting to walk back to the dorm. I can still see someone looking at me in surprise when they see that Rogue and Charles are the ones I'm talking to.

When I arrived, I opened the door and entered. Just then, they were all in the living room, and I was the only one who waited.

"Sorry I'm late."

I took the suitcase I had packed earlier and looked at them.

"Where have you been?" Vandel asked.

"I just handed back the two mythical creatures."I answered.

He frowned. "To Charles?"

I nodded. "To Charles and Rogue."

"Rogue? What about that guy? "

Sandra giggled at his question. I silently hissed.

I looked at Vandel. "They are siblings. Let's go. "

They all nodded and started to leave the dorm. I was about to get my suitcase when Vandel suddenly took it and started walking out. I silently sigh. Before leaving, I even looked around the entire dorm. We're going to say goodbye to Headmaster Kane and return the dorm key today.

"We're going to Headmaster Kane?" asked Relm.

"Obviously, Relm. Let's go! " Sandra said and held on to me. She looked at me teasingly, which I couldn't understand. I look at her confused, yet she keeps smiling like an idiot.

I could feel the eyes of the students. Maybe they were wondering why we were holding a suitcase. After arriving, Copelan immediately knocked and opened the headmaster's door, and we entered one by one, because Sandra and I were the last to enter.

My forehead furrowed as to why they didn't sit on the chair. When I looked ahead, there was the group, Clover and Alpha, talking to the Headmaster. The girls glared at us while the boys ignored me, and Rogue looked at me with a smile. Sandra quietly pinched my side, but I ignored it.

"Oh! Hello to our winner. What do you need? " Headmaster Kane asked with a smile.

"We're here to say goodbye. And we're going to return this dorm key, "the Princess said to him.

His forehead was furrowed, wondering what we were saying. "We're not here to cause any nuisance or trouble. By the way,..." I took the gold that was our prize in the tournament and gave it to the Headmaster. He took it in surprise.

"You can have it." I added.

"What the?! What are you doing here? " Andrea said to us very angrily.

"Andrea enough!" Rogue disobeyed her.

She looked at him in disbelief. The headmaster heaved a sigh before turning his gaze to us.

"You can go." "You are welcome to come back here," he then said.

We smiled at him. I just looked at Clover and Alpha and went out first. They followed me.

"Can we get a ride?" asked Elara.

We are now walking towards the gate. Unlike when we first came here, there weren't many mages in front of it. Maybe the others were already on a mission.

"We'll wait outside. Someone will pass by. " I answered her.

We walked out. It's a good thing that suddenly a carriage came by, so they immediately stopped it. When I looked, there was also a man riding in the back.

"Do we fit?" Vandel asked the driver.

"Yes, that fits.Just come in," he answered.

Elara and the Princess entered first; Relm and Copelan followed; Sandra and I followed; then Vandel. We immediately looked for a place to sit. Luckily, we all fit.

"To the town." I told him. He nodded and started driving.

"I will miss it here in Salla." Sandra suddenly said

"Me too," sad that Relm agreed with her.

I looked at them all. Copelan just closed his eyes in his chair while Elara and the Princess talked. Sandra and Relm are bickering with each other while Vandel is quiet next to me. When I look at him, he is frowning, looking outside.

"Are you okay?" I asked Vandel.

He gave me a look."Why does Rogue look at you like that?" he grumbled.

I tried to look back at Rogue's face earlier. What does that mean?

"Why? What is that? "

He sighed. "Nothing. Don't talk to him anymore," he said to me.

I chuckled and nodded at him. He looked at me pouting, so I laughed even more. Luckily, we were in the last seat, so they didn't hear anything, especially Sandra. He turned my back dramatically.

Our ride suddenly stopped because the other man got off. We were in the middle, then it started working again.

A few minutes later, we were in town. We just paid gold and we went down one by one. As usual, there are people playing and betting; Aling Celes's big library is still there; restaurants and so on.

We chose to go out of the big gate, and the big forest opened up to us in front of it.

"Let's go in."

We started walking inside. In the distance, we saw other mages walking, so we just walked quietly in the middle of the forest.

"Are we still going to spend time in the big house?" Relm asked us.

Obviously, But I didn't answer because I knew Sandra would answer him.

"You know, Relm, do you see another house?" Sandra said and rolled her eyes.

"Just asking." was a snotty answer.

After a couple of hours, we spotted the house. Another traveler was still coming in, so we immediately went inside and talked to the owner. Luckily, he recognized us. We still took our old room that we stayed in before.

"He still recognized us from the many people who come and go here." Elara said nonchalantly.

"Yes indeed!" Sandra promised

"Because I'm handsome!"

"Dream on, Relm!" the two said at the same time, and he went ahead of him.

I shook my head. Poor Relm. Vandel opened the room, and we all went inside and later rested.
