Chapter 23
It's been a month. For a month, I did nothing but observe. I don't know if they already knew, but who knows?
"Hey Meliora, what are you thinking about? Gosh, talk to me first! " Avalie gave me a snort.
I smiled. I'm with her now here at the cafeteria. It just happened that we were in the same place, because last month we only talked once.
Almost all of the mages in this place are studying and practicing. While we, elites, are the same, we focus more on training.
Because that was the request of the Princess.
Maybe right now, she knows something about what is happening, but she chooses to remain silent. It really got me confused. Because I think she will choose to report to the King and Queen, but no, she hasn't even gone home to their palace since the time we were looking for her.
"Meliora!" Avalie shouted loudly.
I covered my ears instantly. I glared at her, but she just laughed at me.
"What are you thinking about? Share it!" she said loudly.
"Nothing! Just eat! " I answer.
"And where did you go last night? Do you know I almost had a heart attack when they were looking for you?" she said while still pointing at my face.
"Just eat there!" I only said
They always looked for me, except the Princess. I don't know if they're paranoid or not. Because I often leave. I want to know what Miss Violet and the Headmistress plan. After hearing what they were talking about that day, it got my interest and confused me once again.
"What to eat? Hey Meliora, Drake and I are always at the cafeteria! "
I look at her teasingly. "What? Are you always in the cafeteria? "
"With just him?" I added.
Her face suddenly turned red. I laughed.
"Shut up hmp!" she said, pouting.
"Just don't leave so suddenly!" She said and continue eating.
I finished a while ago because she talked too much. She didn't even finish.
"Wait! Where is Sandra?" she asked while chewing.
"She went somewhere,"
Yes. They are already close. Both of them are talkative. It happened when I went to see her with Sandra in the last few days. I just went to our old dorm because I missed her and Sandra's tag along.
"I miss that witch!" she said.
"Yes, you two are friends!"
Suddenly, she laughed hard. Others are almost looking at her because of her loudness.
Who will give her an Elite now?!
I laughed at that thought. I chose to look around the cafeteria. Everything was normal; some were talking, laughing, some were eating quietly.
I sigh. They didn't know what happened.
For a month, the headmistress kept calling us to her office. Because until now, a lot of papers have suddenly arrived at her door. which was written in different words but with the same meaning.
Like the paper that was sent in the past, It was all about the princess.
The Princess is still like that to this day, she and Elara still go out and the boys are always watching her. But she focused more on training.
That paper is a threat to us. That's what the Headmistress said. They just want the princess to disappear. When I heard that, my forehead furrowed, but when I looked at the Princess, she was deep in thought.
Seeing her in that state makes me wonder. I know she knows something about what's going on now, but she hasn't made any moves yet. So I have to be extra careful. I don't know what plans will cross her mind, but I shouldn't underestimate her. She's still the princess who was trained by the greatest and grew up in the castle.
But also, it makes me wonder about the Headmistress. I thought they would make things right, but so far they haven't taken any steps.
How scared are they of the person they are talking about?
"Come on, Meliora!" I was suddenly stopped in my thoughts when Avalie suddenly moved.
I nodded to her and stood up.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"Duh! We're going to find Sandra. "
"Huh? Why?"
"Meli, are you our friend? Probably the more the merrier!" she screamed.
"Don't scream!"
"Yes!" she said, pouting.
We were about to leave when the cafeteria door suddenly opened. All the mages had their mouths agape as Sandra slowly walked towards us.
"Hey ladies," she said seriously.
Avalie hit her. "Stop Sandralita. It's terrifying! "
She was ridiculed. "Is it bad to be beautiful?Duh!" she said, then rolled her eyes.
"Anyways, why are you still here?Let's go! Let's go shopping for clothes now. "
My forehead furrowed. "Why?"
She rolls her eyes. She looked at Avalie. "Hey, Ava! Don't you know what's going to happen tomorrow?
Avalie immediately looked at her with her eyes wide-opened. She held her head as if something important had been forgotten.
"Omg! The Princess's birthday party is tomorrow! "Let's go!" she screamed.
"You do not know?" she asked me.
I shook my head. "Where are we going now?"
"Let's go shopping for clothes in town! Let's go! " Sandra said, with excitement.
The two quickly pulled me while they were clinging to my two arms. Sandra immediately looked for a carriage for us to ride to town.
"Where are the others?" I asked while looking around.
"Kara has her own dresser and stylist. While Elara has many gowns piled up in her closet, The boys are just resting in the dorm." Sandra answered.
I just nodded at her answer. When the carriage arrived, I quietly sat down at the back, while they followed me. I heard Sandra tell the driver that we were going to town, so he immediately started driving.
"Where were you from earlier?" Avalie asked Sandra.
"Duh! Somewhere. The King and Queen will arrive tomorrow," she announced.
She looked at me worriedly. "Maybe the king doesn't treat you badly anymore. The Princess is back," she added.
I didn't say anything.
"Why? What happened? " Avalie asked.
"Don't tell this to others! Last month, we were looking for Kara because she suddenly left. We went to the palace to ask if she was there because we didn't know, but she wasn't. The King is blaming Meliora for that! "
"What?!" Avalie exclaimed. "Why was it Meliora's fault?" she added.
"Just because! The important thing is that Kara came back that same day." Sandra answered.
"Why we don't know," she grumbled.
"Probably! The whole academy might panic! Brain Avalie! " Sandra answered with a raised eyebrow.
Avalie pouted.
That's how they talk.
"We're here!" the coach said.
We went down immediately. Sandra even gave him a small payment before going down.
"Follow me. I have a friend who sells nice clothes."Sandra said while taking the lead.
She walked with us first, while Avalie and I followed. Someone had stopped what they were doing when we passed in front of them. Because we were still in uniform while Sandra and I were hanging the golden pin, indicating that we were elite.
And Elite is one of the most valued mages in Tamora.
"We're here!"
Sandra immediately got in the store while we followed. There are lots of dresses everywhere. My eyes are filled with stunning dresses. There are some that are so bright, some that seem simple, and some that sparkle.
The woman, who I think is its owner, came towards us.
"Hello. Where are your gowns? " Sandra said politely.
"This way, ma'am." she answered, smiling.
We followed her. She opened a door and entered.
"Woah!" Avalie exclaimed.
"This is heaven!" she added.
Sandra thanked her and said that she would only call her when we were done.
"Pick your gown, fellas." she said to us.
"Yes." Avalie's eyes flickered with excitement as I looked at it listlessly. Parties were not my thing. It would be even better if I was just hanging out in the dorm.
They were busy searching while I just sat on the side. After a couple of minutes, they still couldn't choose, so I stood up and looked at the dozen clothes.
I looked around here. But what caught my attention was the black ball gown in the middle. It was a long sleeve that was made of lace. There's no glittery stuff, which makes it more simple, which I love.
"Omg! That will look perfect to you, Meliora! " Avalie immediately said, who was also looking at it?
I looked at her. She's wearing a blue ball gown; it has crystals but doesn't hurt the eyes. Suddenly, Sandra came holding a white gown. I winced when I saw that it had so many layers. That looks so heavy.
"Can you wear that?" I asked.
"Duh Meliora! I used to wear heavier clothes." Sandra answered.
"Come on! I'll pay. "
Avalie's eyes glistened with happiness at what Sandra said, while I just nodded to her.
The girl immediately came to us and put our gowns in the bag. She slowly put it inside as if it was a breakable object. After Sandra paid, we went home. As before, we still rode a carriage.
"Tomorrow go to the dorm. I'll fix your hair and make up with Meliora. " Sandra said aloud to Avalie.
Avalie applauded what she heard.
"Omg! I'm about to set foot in the elite dorm! " She exclaimed.
"Now who are you going to give Elite?" I asked with my eyebrow raised.
She immediately snorted. "Yes! Shut up there, Meliora! "
I laughed.
