Chapter 28
"W-what the?" Relm shouted.
Our mouths dropped at what was happening. The woman and the man who were fighting earlier are fighting now. The whole room is almost on fire because of them. The boy had lava magic while the girl had cloning. The man's eyebrows are raised because he can't even hit the woman, while the woman moves around and just avoids every magic of the man.
The one who was screaming awhile ago left to go to the owner while the remaining mages were here to watch.
"Is this legal? The house might burn down. " The Princess said like us, only a few remained calm.
I took a look around at the mages present. The girl's companions were here earlier and seemed to be interested in what they were watching. They just sat and focused on the fight that was going on. On the other hand, a group came, but instead of stopping it, they just sat down to watch.
What the?
"Don't interfere. We'll wait for the owner here. " Vandel told us.
We all just stood there watching what was happening. Many women's faces were scattered as the man burned them one by one. But when he burns one of its clones, it comes back whole and unscathed. I even saw the woman laugh, and the man's nose almost blew with anger. Their fight was intense. I can already feel the heat even though the climate is cold.
The girl threw a punch, which the man couldn't avoid. He was very confused because he couldn't even see the real body of the woman.
"As the saying goes by, Don't anger the hungry girl. " I heard a man say who was with the woman earlier. He shakes his head while looking at the fight.
Another girl chuckled. "And don't underestimate a girl," she said arrogantly.
When she looked at us, when she saw me looking at them, her eyebrows rose. I quickly changed my sight and looked at the fight in the center.
Suddenly, the owner came and stopped them. The two were panting. The man went to his group while the woman went to the other side. I even saw the group of women laughing while the group of men left.
The owner used his magic. He swayed his hand a little. Suddenly, everything returned to its previous form.
"Whoa!" Relm said in amazement.
"He has creation magic. Let's go. " Vandel said, and we started walking towards the room.
I even saw the group of women look at us, but we ignored it again. As much as possible, we must avoid chaos.
"Does that normally happen here?" Elara asked when we got inside.
"Actually, it's pretty normal. That is why the owner has created magic, because if anything breaks here, it can be restored immediately. " I answered her.
"That man's magic was rare." Copelan suddenly said that they agreed.
Indeed, it is. Mages are rarely gifted with creation magic. It can be had by only one person. Although it's rare, it wasn't that strong, but it also depended on its user.
"Is everyone here going to Salla?" The Princess asked
"Actually, they only have two destinations: going to Salla or Nama." I answered her.
She nodded.
"Let's rest early. We'll leave early tomorrow. " Vandel said to us.
We tidy up and change our clothes. The girls are next to each other, and the boys are on the other bed. Make sure that our door is locked as well as our window. We are surrounded by powerful people. We still have to be careful.
We woke up early the next day. Before the sun rose, we were getting ready to leave. But it looks like we're not the only ones leaving. We heard the conversation and laughter of others here. Their voices were too loud as they passed our door.
"Are you finished?" Vandel said to Sandra. We sat on the couch waiting for Sandra to finish. The two of them actually because Relm had been awake the last time earlier, so they were fighting over who would be the first to take a bath.
"Wait! Wait for me! " Relm shouted inside the bathroom.
"We're leaving Relm bye!" Sandra shouted back. She opened the door and slammed it shut even though she didn't come out. I silently laughed.
"How many hours until we arrive at Salla?" the Princess asked Vandel.
"We used to spend half a day traveling through the forest." When Vandel answered her, he didn't even look at the Princess.
Relm rushed out of the bathroom, and when he saw that we were still sitting, he sighed loudly.
"Hurry up there!" Sandra said to him irritatedly.
"Yes!" he snorted.
After Relm arranged and got his things, we went out. We still meet many mages that we didn't see yesterday. Vandel returned the key to the owner. We have seen others here who have started to go out and travel.
We immediately left the house and started walking in the forest. The forest was tidy. There are often only leaves that you can see scattered on the road. You can also see birds flying high.
We walk all the way out in silence. Good thing the forest has an aisle towards the exit. So you won't get lost inside. Unfortunately, it was a long aisle. You can hardly see its border because it is so long.
"Let's take a rest." I said to them. We have been walking for about two hours.
Everyone agreed. We just sat on the side of the road and quietly observed the surroundings. Until now, we have not met or been with any other travelers.
"What do we do first when we set foot in Salla?" Elara asked.
"What if we ask first who knows Celes?" Sandra suggested
"Yes, we can do that. It's still too early. " Relm seconded.
"They're right. We have plenty of time, and we're close to the border. " I said as I pointed down the road.
"Okay. Let's do that. " Vandel finalized. No one objected anymore because we needed to do this mission as soon as possible.
After a few minutes, we decided to leave. We just walked until we saw a border leading out. We immediately crossed it.
They hugged themselves when suddenly the wind blew. Why don't they wear a jacket?
"It's so cold!" Sandra shouted.
"Wear your jackets." Vandel ordered them.
I looked around. Salla was still the same as before. There is a large gate ahead that is open, indicating that anyone who travels can proceed. There are sellers of various items, people who cook on the side, people who compete, and so on.
"This is the center of Salla." I told them.
I went in first and Vandel went with me while the rest of us followed.
"Let's eat first." Then Copelan, who was silent, suddenly talked.
I even saw Relm holding his mouth.
We went to a nearby restaurant. It's a good thing there aren't that many mages here. They immediately looked for a seat. They chose the one near the window and sat down.
"Why can't I see a house?" Sandra asked as she looked outside.
"This is the center. The houses are on the left side of Salla, and the Academy is on the right." I answered her.
She frowned. "What? I don't understand Meliora. "
I sighed heavily. "Let's eat first." I only replied.
The food was immediately served to us and we chewed quietly. But no one recognized me. Has my face changed?
Then we immediately went out. They had decided earlier that we must be together when to ask about Celes, so that what happened in the past in Bora would not happen again.
First we went to the dueling mages. They were clinging to each other and shouting while looking at something in front. We went there.
There are two men fighting in the middle with no power. They use their own hands and feet. We immediately asked the first mages we saw.
"Hello," Elara called him. He looked at us with a frown. He probably didn't recognize us and just saw us now.
"Do you know anyone named Celes?" I asked him.
He looked up as if thinking. "Celes? There's only one Celes here. Ask there," he answered, while pointing to an old library.
We immediately thanked him and followed his instructions. It was an old library; books and papers were scattered outside, and no one entered. It was chaotic. It looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a long time.
When we entered, we saw how spread out it was. There were crumpled papers everywhere; books on the floor and not put back in their cases; and books with scattered pages.
"What happened here?" Relm asked.
No one answered him. We picked up the mess one by one and placed them on the only table here. We put all the crumpled papers in the trash. We immediately shook hands afterwards.
"Why is no one here?" Princess asked. She chose to go ahead, and we followed. We found a metal box-shaped thing with a small hole in the middle.
"Let's press this thing," the Princess said to us. We nodded and she pressed it. We were startled when it suddenly made a loud noise. We immediately gathered and looked around.
"Who's there?" Suddenly, a woman screamed inside. We could feel she was coming down the stairs because of the sound of her footsteps walking. Suddenly, the front door opened and the old woman spat out. Her hair was white, she was wearing a vest, and her skin was wrinkled.
"What do you need?" she asked.
