Chapter 19
I followed the others and we all got out and headed outside where the mythical creatures were waiting. I silently prayed that they would understand what I was saying and would already be gone. I was just following them from behind when suddenly Sandra screamed.
"Where are they?" she exclaimed.
I sigh in relief. Thankfully, they're gone.
"I think all of you should take a rest." The Headmistress said to us, smiling. "They're gone. Maybe they saw Princess Kara awhile ago." she added.
I mentally smirked. It was a good thing, though, that they came. This must serve as my first move to reveal her.
Everyone agreed with what the Headmistress said, "Let's take a rest." Vandel said to all of us.
We immediately followed him as he was about to walk towards our dorm. Sandra quickly walked beside me, pouting, "I want to see those mythical creatures again."
I smiled, "Is this the first time you've seen them?" I asked.
"Yes," she quickly replied.
I didn't respond, I just put a smile on my face. When we arrived,I immediately sat on the couch along with others.
Elara immediately went up the stairs, perhaps to see the Princess. While Sandra and Realm were already talking, I was just staring at them. I was startled when someone just sat in the empty space beside me. When I looked at it, it was Vandel.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
He just shook his head and smiled, "Nothing, are you tired?" He asked.
"Not at all."I answered. He nodded and just stayed beside me. I didn't say anything because he was gently closing his eyes.Maybe he's tired.
Elara appeared to be running towards here when she came in gasping for air.We looked at her confusedly, but she just roamed her eyes around, "Where is Kara? Did you see her?" she asked.
We shook our heads, "She went to her room, right? That's what she said. " I answered.
"No! She was not there!" she said, almost screaming. Their eyes widened at what she said, especially Vandel's, who was awake now and stood up.
"Where do you think she'd go?" Vandel asked Elara. But Elara shook her head repeatedly and was about to cry. "I don't know!" she answered.
"We're doomed." I heard Sandra whisper from behind.
"Let's find her outside! Maybe she's just wandering outside. " Sandra said.
We immediately got up and went out. I followed them as they wandered around the academy, but no trace of Kara was found. Even the student that we asked didn't see her anywhere. When I looked at them, they were serious. Vandel couldn't take his eyes off the road as well as Elara. Copelan seemed to wander his eyes and Relm just asked a lot of students.
I turn my gaze to Sandra, "Maybe she just went home, or went to her parents." I abruptly informed her, but everyone just stared at me with wide eyes.
"You're right, Meliora!" Elara said with a sigh of relief.
"Maybe she got bored or missed them suddenly." Relm added.
"This is my fault. If only I had accompanied her. " Elara said.
"No, it's not your fault! If I hadn't stopped all of you from following her, maybe she was still here." I quickly replied to her.
I stopped when Sandra held my hand and said, "It's nobody's fault!"
"Let's go to the palace!" Vandel announced to us that it makes their eyes look nervous.
"What?" I heard Sandra's reaction.
"Do we need to ask permission from the headmistress?" I asked.
Vandel suddenly stopped walking.
"Let's go to the Headmistress first, maybe Kara say goodbye." he stated.
We chose to take the road to the Headmistress's office. Vandel opened the door first while we followed him. The Headmistress was sitting in her usual spot while Miss Violet was on her right side. They looked at us in wonder.
"What brought all of you here?" Headmistress asked.
"Did Princess Kara come here?" I asked the Headmistress gently.
"No. Why? Did something happen? "
I bit my lower lip. What will we do? I even saw Elara shaking her hand in nervousness.
"Kara's left." Vandel said suddenly.
"What?! Who's with her? " The Headmistress shouted.
"Sorry!" Elara and I suddenly said.
"This is not good." Miss Violet commented.
The Headmistress sighed heavily. "Find her right now!" she exclaimed emphatically.
"We'll all be screwed by the King and Queen if something bad happen to her," she added.
We all nodded.
We are all leaving the academy. Elara kept blaming herself for what happened. It is not actually her fault.
"If we go straight to the palace, Kara might actually be there. " Relm suggested.
He has a point, though.
"What if she's not there?" Elara answered worriedly.
I looked at them. Copelan and Vandel were quiet, which is always But Sandra's also staying quiet. I looked at her. What is she thinking?
I tapped her shoulder. "Is there a problem?"
"Meliora! I'm hungry!" she said while pouting.
I sighed. I thought it was something serious.
"What are we going to do?" Relm asked.
"We don't have any other choice," Vandel said.
Our foreheads furrowed while looking at him. "Let's go to the palace and face the consequences of our actions. Let's embrace it and be respectful to the king and queen," he added.
Elara suddenly bowed down while Relm was dumbfounded. Sandra was suddenly anxious. Copelan, on the other hand, remained silent, but you can see her fear. But why?
"Why are you acting like that?" I suddenly asked.
"Meliora, we're doomed!" Sandra shouted.
I frowned. "Yes, I know. I mean, why did you react like that when Vandel mentioned the King and Queen?"
Suddenly, they looked away. My eyebrows rose. As far as I remember, the Queen died in the first war, and I haven't seen the new Queen as well as the King that they look up to now.
"I don't know them." I added gently because they didn't even say a word. I mentally rolled my eyes.
"They're nice, but we're not sure what they'll do if we don't complete this mission properly."Vandel answered me.
"And you're part of it, Meliora. Also, they don't know you yet." Sandra added.
"Don't worry about me. Lets go! " I said, then smiled.
"What vehicle do we have?" Relm suddenly asked.
I looked around. I don't see a single carriage wandering around. It's not as usual that when we go out there is a rickshaw waiting outside.
"Wait! I have a question!" Sandra shouted.
We all look at her. She rolled her eyes before speaking.
"What if Kara returns to the academy and we just get lost on the way? How will we know that? "
I did not think about that.
She looked around at all of us, waiting for an answer.
"Don't worry, Headmistress gave me this thing." Vandel answered as he pulled out a box-shaped thing that lit up and had a clock on it.
Woah! What was that?
I can see the confusion on their faces. Perhaps they don't know either.
When Vandel noticed that, he sighed.
"This thing can be used for communication. Just one tap and you can call other mages. It is simple to use". He added, "We just got it today, and we will return it to her when we get home."
They looked at it in amazement. I just saw it too. Nice!
"Let's go find a carriage. The palace is so far! " Elara said to us.
We all move. Sandra circled her arm around my arm and walked with me. While Vandel was ahead of us, Copelan and Elara were our backs, and Relm, who jumped up and down while walking. I heard Sandra snort as she looked at him. I mentally laughed.
"We will walk to the town, and there we will look for a carriage going to the palace. Is that clear? " Vandel said to us.
Sandra giggled at my side. "Meliora, is the leader cool?" she shouted at me while clapping her hands.
My forehead furrowed. "Huh? What's cool about that? "
I'm confused.
She just rolled her eyes and didn't respond.
We walked the road to town in silence. I looked at the sky. It was almost night.
"We're almost there!" Vandel announced.
Indeed, it is. In the distance, you can see the vast town. As we got closer, I could clearly see the people there. There are markets, flower sellers, people walking around as if there was no problem. There are people showing off their power and accepting money.
"Do these mages know each of you?" I asked.
"Yes! Just don't mind them, Meliora," answered Sandra.
I just nodded.
When we arrived, we immediately looked for a carriage to ride in. Almost everyone looked at us walking.
Of course, they are aware of the elite. They are one of Tamora's most admired mages.
"There!" Relm shouted as he pointed to the rickshaw similar to the one we rode from Bora.
We immediately walked towards it and talked to its coachman. It's good that he knows them, so it's not difficult to ask him. Copelan will drive it again. We immediately thanked him and got in one by one.
Copelan and Vandel sit in the front. Copelan is the driver, and Vandel is on his right side. I chose to sit on the right side while Elara sat next to me. I saw Sandra snort when she saw her sit next to me and sit on the left side while Relm was next to her.
I laughed when she kept rolling her eyes.
When Vandel saw that we were seated properly, he looked at Copelan.
"Let's go!" Vandel said.
He nodded and started the carriage.
"How many days until we get there?" I asked them all.
Sandra laughed. "What's with a day, Meliora! It's only a matter of time! "
I bow my head in embarrassment. I haven't yet been there!
"All of you can sleep. I'll tell you when we're close!" Vandel said to us.
They immediately adjusted their seats and closed their eyes. But I preferred to observe the scenery outside. The sky has turned orange, so it's very comfortable outside. The butterflies that disappeared earlier have also returned.
It's good. I sigh.
"You can't sleep?" Vandel asked me.
I just smiled at him. "I'm not sleepy."
"You sure?"
"Yes!" I answered.
"Ok," he said, turning away.
I also looked outside.
