She opened the door, her eyes widening in shock as she saw the former Luna standing before her, arms by her hips..
"When are you leaving?" Luna Celeste was the first to speak, making reference to the building. "You don't belong here."
Alexia stepped back. It seems impossible to have a minute of peace without the Luna having to disrupt it.
"I...I'm not leaving." She stammered, her voice barely audible.
The former Luna's face twisted in a cruel smile, her voice dripping with mockery.
"How will you make the Alpha happy? How will you give him a child, when you are nothing but a useless wolf?"
"I don't know. I don't know how I'll give him a child but I will. We shall work it out." When she replied, the former Luna laughed again, seeing her as nothing but pathetic.
"Love is a human emotion, Alexia," She hissed. "It is weak, it is fleeting, it is nothing more than a delusion. The Alpha will not let love stand in the way of his duty, his destiny. He will take a new Luna, a real Luna, one who can give him the child he needs. And when he does, you will be cast aside, forgotten and alone, a discarded toy."
The former Luna's words echoed in Alexia's mind, and she stepped back, her eyes filling with tears.
"Please. Please, don't say those things. You're wrong." She's tired already. Walking out on her out of the option.
"I'm not wrong, Alexia." She pointed. "I'm telling you the truth, the truth you refuse to see."
The former Luna's eyes gleamed with triumph, her voice a poison of fear and hate.
"You are nothing but a pathetic person a weak and useless creature even though you've managed to gain the royal title. You are a stain on the pack, a disgrace to the Alpha's name.
"And when the time comes, when he realizes the truth of what you are, he will cast you aside, like the garbage you are. He will take a new Luna, one worthy of his name, one worthy of his love and devotion. And you, Alexia, will be nothing but a fading memory, a discarded dream."
"You have three days, Alexia. Three days to pack your things, to say your goodbyes, to slink away in shame and disgrace.
"After that, if you are still here, I will take matters into my own hands. I will make sure that Steele chases you out himself." A promise.
The former Luna turned and walked away, her footsteps echoing through the hallway like a death knell. Alexia closed the door and sank to the floor, her body shaking as tears streamed down her face, and her chest heaved with sobs.
She cried for the Alpha, for the love she feared she would lose. She cried for the pack, for the acceptance she feared she would never find.
She cried for herself, for the life she feared she would never know.

The next morning, Alexia stepped out of the palace, her eyes searching the bustling streets for signs of the maid. As she walked, her eyes caught sight of a familiar figure, a man with stabbed her in the back and hurt her so much she had prayed she never see him.
Marcus.
Her ex mate, the man who had rejected her, who had left her broken and alone and had made her even more miserable. Her heart skipped a beat at first, then her shoulders squared higher.
"Marcus. What are you doing here?" She asked, not with concern but in jest of him. Oh, he must have heard.
"Alexia, please..." He began, clasping both of his hands together.
"You are a princess now, a Lycan princess. I should have seen the truth of what you were, the beauty and strength and grace that were hidden from my eyes. Please, Alexia, please forgive me. I beg you, take me back, give me another chance. You know I still want you, right?"
"I can't live without you, Alexia. I've made so many mistakes, but I swear to you, I will make it right. I will be a loyal and faithful mate, a true and worthy Alpha to you. I will protect you, I will love you, I will be everything you need me to be." He blocked her path as she wanted to walk past him. He regretted not having brought one of Steele's men with her.
"Please, Alexia, give me another chance. Give me a chance to be the man you deserve."
Alexia laughed, a bitter and mocking sound. A man deserves? Was he thinking? He thought she was the Alexia of five years back?
"Do you not remember, Marcus? Do you not remember how you rejected me, how you threw me away for Sloane?" She shook her head at his shameless. If he hadn't chase her out of the brothel that night, she just might have not run into the hands of the rogues, nor will she lose her previous pregnancy.
It was painful. The rejection and everything painful he had done to her.
"You made your choice, Marcus," She laughed aloud proceeding to refresh his memory. "You chose Sloane, and you lost me. You lost your chance, and you can never have it back." She let him know, wondering why she even stayed to waste her time on him.
"No, Alexia. I didn't choose Sloane, not in my heart. I was confused, I was foolish, I was weak. But I see the truth now, I see the strength and beauty and grace that I was blind to before." He denied but she still wasn't having any of it.
"Please, Alexia, please forgive me. Please give me another chance. Please, I beg you." He cried falling to her feet.
Alexia pushed past Marcus, her body tensed with anger and over all disgust. Had it been he had a little atom of shame left in him, be shouldn't have come finding her.
"I'm done with you, Marcus. I'm done with your lies, your excuses, your weakness." She spat and kicked at him when he tried to touch her feet.
"Go back to Sloane, go back to your pathetic life. You will never have me again!"
With that, she turned and walked away, her footsteps echoing through the streets like a declaration of war.
She didn't head where she was going, didn't think about where she was going, too pissed she just head back to the pack house.
As Alexia approached the pack, her mind very occupied m, her feet stumbled on the cobblestones before she knew what was happening.
She cried out, her arms flailing for balance, her body pitching forward. But it was too late.
She tumbled to the ground, her body hitting the hard stone with a painful thud. She gasped, the air knocked out of her lungs, her hands scraping against the rough surface.
She lay there, her body still and defeated, her mind filled with humiliation and pain.
As Alexia struggled to regain her breath, her body sore and bruised, she caught sight of the former Luna standing in the doorway, a smirk of triumph on her face. Her eyes were even gleaming with victory, as she laughed, a high pitched one at that.
"Well, well, well," Came her mocking voice. "It seems the mighty princess has fallen."
