Alpha Steele simply stood at his window, his gaze fixed on the distant courtyard below, where Alexia stood speaking with a stranger, both intently drawn into whatever conversation they could be having.
There was something about the man that made Steele feel a sense of familiarity that he couldn't quite place. Moreso, it's better he has no money of whom he was.
His jaw clenched, his nostrils flaring at the same time as he tried to contain the rage that threatened to consume him the closer he sees the stranger get with Alexia. What on earth is going on...?!
Without turning from the window, he yelled aloud, his voice quite threatening. "Kade!"
His Beta approached silently, his footsteps muffled by the way he walked gently across the floor. He stopped a few paces away from the Alpha, sensing the danger that hung in the air and keeping his distance.
From experience, he'd learnt how dangerous it was to be near Alphas at the time of their change of mood.
"Yes, Alpha. You called?" He asked.
Steele's eyes remained fixed on the scene outside, his fists clenching and unclenching beside him.
"Who is that man with Alexia?" He demanded, his voice a low growl as he waited a response from Kade.
Who followed the Alpha's gaze, squinting to make out the figure below. "I do not know, my Alpha." He replied.
The Alpha turned then, his eyes flashing red. Before he could grab at him, he restrained himself on time.
"Find out who he is. And bring him to me." He commanded followed by a dismissive wave of hand.
Raven bowed his head in compliance.
"Yes, Alpha." he said, his voice steady despite the fear he was feeling inside of him.
As Kade turned to leave, the Alpha called after him. "Do not harm him. Yet."
Alone once more, Alpha Steele resumed his silent vigil, watching as Alexia and the stranger continued their conversation. The rain had started to fall, pattering against the windowpane. Nevertheless, he did not stir, his gaze remaining fixated on the pair below.
What was their connection? Why had Alexia not told him about the strange man?
The longer he watched, the more the impatience within him grew, until at last, he could bear it no more.
Before he was able to any action, Kade slipped back into the room, his head bowed in respect as always.
"Alpha Steele. The man is called Marcus, an Omega from this Pack." He informed.
The Alpha's expression darkened at the mention of his pack. Who dare have the gut to come speaking to his mate right under his watch?
Does he have no fear?
"Marcus," he repeated, and as he does, he wished he could go down there and slash at his throat. "What is his business here?" He asked, shaking off his bloody thought.
"He did not say, my Alpha. He asked only for Alexia, and she went to him willingly. That's all I know." Kade shook his head negatively..
Seeing as the Alpha turned mute thereafter, Kade bowed his head, instantly keeping his eyes downcast.
"My Alpha, what would you have me do?" Though he didn't expect an answer, he asked away anyways.
The Alpha turned away from the window, and worded bit by bit, as he looked at him.
"Bring him to me, I will deal with him myself." He said. and Kade bowed once more and left.
Marcus was just laying down his last plead after being strong-headed when he caught sight of Kade striding towards him, and by his sides, he was flanked by two other wolves.
His body tensed, his instincts instantly urging him to flee, but it was too late.
"Marcus. Nice meeting you. The Alpha wants me to accompany you to him." Said Kade, his face held in a straight line as he referred for Marcus to take the lead.
Marcus hesitated, his eyes darting between Kade and Alexia.
"Alexia, I..." he began, but she cut him off with a shake of her head.
"Go." She urged, a sly smile across her face.
Alexia wants him to go witness the Alpha's wrath. Since he would never learn.

Marcus stalked back to his home, his mind seething with anger and frustration.
He had gone to the pack house with the hope of making amends, of finally putting the past to rest, but instead, he had been met with a cold Alexia that made him angry.
Talk more of the punishment he received at hands of the Alpha's Beta, Kade. He knows he made a mistake by confessing to them why he had came and how he was Alexia's ex-mate but he wasn't thinking with his senses.
He can't believe he was beaten to a plump. And Alexia... she watched him leave to get thrashed and didn't rescue him.
She's proving tough and he hates that. No matter how stubborn she is right now, he's going to get her back and that's a promise.
As he stormed through the front door, Sloane who has been wondering where he left for, rushed to his side, her eyes filled with concern as she asked, "Marcus, what's wrong?"
Apparantly, she can feel the anger radiating from him even from afar.
Marcus turned to her. "Everything! That ungrateful wretch, Alexia. She's so blinded by her foolish loyalty to the Alpha that she won't even listen to me. I offered to help her, to stand by her side, and she rejected me rather than coming to me!" He snarled.
Sloane's lips pursed into a thin line, anger rising in her chest as she listened to Marcus rant. He had gone to see Alexia, his Ex, and came back to tell her where he went, like she was nothing to him.
"I need to clear my head. I'm going for a run." He said at last, resigning.
Without another word, he stalked out of the room, leaving Sloane alone with her thoughts and the unease she's feeling. Alexia is back! Somehow, she can't help but panic.
