"Wait, what?!"
Alexia was forced to abruptly stop when she was on her way to visiting Ava in the cell at night but crossed paths with her halfway, she didn't know when she smiled. The Alpha had listened to her, and let her out of the cell.
Ava saw Alexia but walked past with a roll of eyes and a disinterested look.
Unaffected, Alexia changed her path and was knocking on the Alpha's door the next minute. She heard nothing from him and pushed the door open, sensing he was probably still mad at her and truly, when she entered, his face disclosed his anger.
"I met her on the way, thank you for releasing her." Hands behind her she bowed her head in gratitude and turned around to leave.
"You won't do anything?" He asked her, his voice surprisingly calm.
"About what?" She asked, confused as she looked back at him.
"Nevermind. The deed is done." He looked away from her and gave his attention to his finished files, pretending to tend to them as he awaits her exit.
"I know what you mean and I'm sorry, I didn't mean to turn things upside down for us, you should know. I was just bothered."
He didn't look up from the files, chosing to ignore her. Something she knows she deserves.
"I'm taking until you chose to speak with me. Other than that, I'm not leaving. I'll keep apologizing." She remained at the door, her back against it as she stared blankly ahead at him.
"Shouldn't you be out there dining and wining with your amazing Ava?" He finally quited the pretense to smirk, his voice shaking with annoyance.
"Is this jealousy am sensing?" She asked, face flushed red. So this was it, he didn't want her close with Ava, something she'd never do in her right senses but he doesn't know.
"Me not wanting you to relate with her isn't jealousy, ma'am." He almost snarled, and this time he dropped the file in his hand and got up his feet, turning his back at her, he said. "I need to sleep."
"Sleep." She shrugged indifferently as she responded.
Which has him looking back at her with the why-you-serious face.
"Sleep. I'll be here watching over you." She confidently said and smiled all over, shifting her seat even more closer to his desk, "Or I can just lay my head on this and rest. It's really that simple."
Arguing with her wasn't one of the options, he did a few going here and there before getting into bed, and truly like she said, her eyes didn't leave him.
He couldn't get a wink of sleep either, her soft snores was what alerted him she's asleep. He sat upright and there she was, head on his neck, sleeping… the same person who had promised to watch over him.
He got closer to her and his eyes strayed to her plumpy lips in which he quickly looked away from and fortunately got different by the strand of air blocking a part of her voice.
He leaned closer to put it behind her ear and got starstruck along the way. More like he's getting more clearer view of her face… she looked prettier while asleep, her long lashes making her look even more sophisticated.
If only she knew how pretty she is. She's going to have to hear it from him tomorrow but for now, a hand went under her legs and one behind her back as he carried her in his arms and conveyed her to his bed.
This was the surprise gift the moon goddess has been preparing. Who would have though he was going to sleep with her tonight again.
He wrapped his arms around her when he got into beds, that too after wrapping the bedsheet up their bodies.

When Alexia woke up to find herself in her mate's arms, securely, she smiled and rather than getting out of bed she slept back and it was about two hours later when she a tap on her shoulder from him.
"Good morning." She greeted him as she yanked the bed sheet aside to stand up. He pointed at the bathroom as he acknowledged her, and she went there to brush her teeth and came out… before him was his coffee and a cup of tea of her.
They both sat together and spoke over the drink.
"You should have told me you wanted me to sleep on the same bed as you that badly." Her voice was low not meant for him to hear but he heard it, his hearing quite sharp.
When he met her gaze was when she realized what she'd done, how can she forget he's an Alpha and it's normal for him to hear things clearly even from a long distance.
"No, that wasn't me. My tongue slipped." She blunted almost immediately saving herself.
"It certainly did. Seeing as you came into my room first I can see the situation is the other way round." He has his usual unreadable expression on his face but there's the teasing tone this time around.
She wants to be able to read him like a book soon, she just needs to be comfortable around him and make him let down his walls around her too.
She left for her room after some time to take her bathe and do some other things before time for breakfast came and a maid came to call her over to the dinning hall. Oh, how she missed yesterday morning, a chance so rare that she lost all because of Ava's case.
And speaking of Ava, her face was the first thing she saw when she got to the dinning, the Luna nowhere around which eased her mind and assured her some comfort for a while.
A chair was pulled out for her by a guard but seeing as the Alpha is approaching she only walked up to her seat once he's near. However, just as she was about letting herself down on the chair, she slipped…
