"What do you mean by you don't know?"
As Sloane asked her best friend, she literally facepalmed herself. She couldn't stay at the brothel as she felt so worried about Marcus' recent change. She decided to come over and meet Ivy, who unfortunately couldn't provide the advice she needed.
"I mean... your mate went to meet his Ex-mate. It's clear enough, Sloane. What else do you want me to say?" Ivy exclaimed, half yelling at her friend.
"Nothing is clear. It might be visible to you but not to me. I don't even want anything clear me, as it is." She replied, dragging out a seat and placing herself down on it.
"Well, I want it clear to you. Him going to meet her only means he wants her back, girl. Do you understand now?" A mischievous grin was pasted across Ivy's face as she watched Sloane cover her ears but it was too late, she spoke already and she's heard.
Sloane grunted, frowning deeply. "You're evil. Just like him. How could he?"
Of everything she expected yesterday night, she never thought Marcus was going to come back from Alexia's place rather than where she thought he went- the woods for a run.
"He did because he can. I have been telling you since forever he doesn't deserve you. Of course, you didn't heed to my warning." Ivy shrugged indifferently, taking a sip from the wine in her hand.
"I... I don't know. I just couldn't watch Alexia have a mate while I stay there, mate-less. That was poising to be a threat on my ego." She whined, pouting as she thought back to years back.
Mere looking at Alexia alone were enough to anger her. Even when she saw Alexia was pregnant, she just can't help her jealousy so she did what she had to do... snatch him for herself.
And Marcus who seemed to have been lusting over her, couldn't resist himself. In one simple word, that was how she was able to get him to reject her.
Was it even her fault? It was Marcus who couldn't resist a temptation.
"Your ego? Seriously Sloane?" Ivy scoffed as audibly as she can get. "Did you think of that same ego and realize he was a mere guard at the brothel?"
She heaved a sigh. "I was blindfolded by jealousy and couldn't see. All that mattered to me then was ruining Alexia,"
"And when I did, I felt pride in it. It's an understatement telling you how I felt."
Ivy wasn't surprised by her friend's proclaim. By now, she's used to it. "Then I hope you know how to go about it again now that he wants to have her back and doesn't want to stick with you."
Sloane fell into silence. She's pained. Has he forgotten the promises? All those times he'd sworn he wouldn't leave her and he's forever going to stick with her. What about when he'd speak about how being with her was the best decision he's ever made?
What now happened? His change can't be no less than because Alexia was now with a new identity- A Lycan princess.
If Marcus wants to dump her now because of it, he better understand she's going nowhere and won't accept his reception. He might have done it with Alexia but she's a different person entirely.
After all these years, trying to dump her now is utterly impossible.

Since yesterday night when Marcus was taken to the Alpha, Alexia found it out to step out knowing she was going to cross way with Steele whether she likes it or not.
It's hard seeing him now. What could he be thinking of her now?
He probably knows about who Marcus was to her. And to say he was looking at them from upstairs while she spoke with him... it gave her chills. She didn't even know he'd been watching them until Kade appeared out of the blue to summon Marcus. Then, a slight raise of head and she saw him in his glory, staring down at her with that look she couldn't fathom.
Rage? Anxiety? Jealousy....? No, it can't be.
She must be delusional to think so.
Her stomach growled at that moment and she grew startled. Okay, it seems the right time to get something inside her stomach before she collapses or die of hunger.
Slowly she opened the door and crept out of it. A sound reached her perked ears and she almost stormed back inside but she halted... the sound had stopped.
Possibly she was hearing things. And whatever that might be... it won't stop her from having her breakfast.
That decided, she repositioned herself upright and walked her way to the kitchen. She's just going to grab the nearest food her hand reaches and bolt out of the kitchen!
"Here you are. Caught. Red-handed." A voice suddenly sounded behind her back and she froze, her movement pulsing upon the refrigerator's handle in which she was just about to close.
A full plate of lasagna in hand, she turned around at a snail-pace. And the Alpha? Alpha Steele leaned against the entrance door, arms crossed tightly over his chest in such a way that made his bicep flex.
She saw that and he seemed to notice, earning a huge smirk from him. Oh, what has she done? She can't seem to have her eyes in one place.
"Good morning, Alpha." Coughing, she cleared her throat and bowed in greeting.
"Morning? it's noon already. Seeing as you were hiding from me the whole day, you wouldn't know." He replied, a humor peeking out of his voice.
She blushed hard, her cheeks a noticable shade of red. She ducked her head in her hair as a cover as she approached him, "Sorry Alpha, but I have to leave."
He did leave the way but he followed after her. When she reached her room and was about shutting the door, he'd already slipped in.. Her eyes widened, turning huge as she closed the door a minute later, fingers shivering against the doorknob in the process of her anxiety.
She awkwardly placed the place of food on her lap as she sat herself down, feigning oblivion to him checking her room out. He's never been here. It's a surprise he followed her in and even stepped inside.
Even though she felt honored for that his rare, she can't help but bottle the nervousness she's feeling. It wasn't as tightly closed as she wanted anyways. She can still feel a huge anxiousness surrounding her.
"You have a nice room. Kade did a good job, I see." He was the first to speak and break the silence barrier.
She almost choked on her food at his complimented. And when he went as far as seating down beside her on the flooring, she almost lost it.
A whole Alpha seated on the floor? Oh, no. She jerked up her feet. If any one gets to see him this way, she could be executed.
"No, Alpha Steele. You can't sit on the floor. Here's a chair for you. Not worthy of you but manageable, please." She went to stand by the small chair at her study desk, her tone pleading.
"No. Come and take your position here back beside me now that I command. Three... two..."
Before he could finish his counting, she was already back there on the floor beside him, heart thumping inside her chest.
