Sitting at such close promixity with him gave her chills. She couldn't even hold herself and eat her food. By now, it must have turned cold. She's not used to this nor was she sure she can ever be.

The way he stares at her. The way he speaks without a care. The way he goes into action without thinking. The way he reads her like a book. It's all making her go crazy.

She can't seem to fathom how to get him out of her room. She can't chase him away; He's the Alpha and owns basically everything in here.

She began to rise, her hand reaching for the edge of the plate, ready to stand and move away from him. But just as she shifts her weight, his hand shoots out, seizing her wrist before she knew it.

"Not yet. Stay with me just a bit longer."

"I mean... I need you here with me." His hand tightened.

Minutes passed and her eyes flutter shut, her head gently tilting onto his shoulder. He stilled for second then nodded softly, gathering her closer.

He slided his arm underneath her and gently lifted her into his arms. Although, her body stirs slightly, she remained asleep.

He carried her across the room and gently laid her down on the bed, her arms falling softly to her sides.

Carefully, he tucked the duvet around her,

As he pulled the door closed behind him, a he said to the guards stationed outside.

"Secure this room. She is not to be disturbed."

As he walked away from the door, his steps quickened, only stopping until he's reached his room. He shut the door to his chamber and went unclad, as he changed into his night wear.

Then he went to switch off the lights.

Alexia sat upright, and a soft sigh escaped her lips.As her gaze roamed the room, a memory of the previous night was refreshed into her mind. The Alpha's presence...! A blush bloomed across her cheeks as she wondered if he had indeed been the one who tucked her into bed.

Alexia retreated into the bathroom, and as she stepped out, her fingers ran through her damp hair, but then with a sudden change of mind, she turned to the vanity.

As she exited the room, the guard's snapped to attention... all shocked to see the Alpha's mate dressed extraordinarily today.

She was known to be pretty without makeup. A Lycan princess who doesn't dress to impress but today was an exception.

Even Alexia herself wasn't sure of what she's doing. Considering she just went for all without thinking twice... it's now too late to back out.

She's getting closer to the Alpha's door, hoping she'd one way or the door escape him. But how? When he was the reason she was dressed this way.

She's not so sure she did the make-up well since it was basically her first trial but she hoped it ain't bad though. That would feel so embarrassing.

She finally escapes the hallway and didn't come across him. However, as she stepped into the dining room, the Alpha's presence was unmistakable. He was seated at the head of the table, his form at first bent over the table seeming to have been waiting for her for long.

Alexia approached, for once since she's under his roof, she kept her posture straight and relaxed. As she drew near, she dropped into a deep bow, her hair cascading over her shoulders as she greeted him.

"Alpha," she murmured, and when she rose, she could feel his eyes on her, taking in the transformation that had taken place.

He noticed immediately. He's never felt the reason why she'd need any makeup done. A reason who assigned no makeup artist for her.

To him, she was pretty enough. Her face and her body are already in a perfection of their own.

And now that it seemed she felt the need to have those on her face, he can't protest either. Somehow, he hopes that's her way of impressing him and perhaps it was as a cause of last night.

'Was she finally starting to budge to what's between us? Is she done denying?' He thought to himself as they ate.

Meanwhile, at the doorstep stood Luna Celeste. Having just arrived from an urgent trip last night, she was so hungry she rushed to the dinning but to her surprise, her son was there already with Alexia.

That was enough to make the hunger she was feeling to vanish. Her mood is ruined already.

Steele doesn't seem to notice her. Of course, he's too busy intently gawking at her to take a look at his hungry mother by the door.

Perhaps the time is here. She's had enough trying to be patience.
