Alexia who has been standing at the Luna's door, unbeknownst to everyone including the Alpha, was scared to the brim when the door was suddenly opened at her face.

She wanted to run until she saw it wasn't the Alpha like she expected. It was the lady brought in by the Luna Celeste.

"What… what are you doing here?" Ava frowned, not expecting to meet someone at the door evesdropping on the conversation going on inside.

She looked at Alexia from the head down to the toe, in expectance it was one of the pack house's maids, but the person before her was dressed royally and nothing of the sort.

"Nothing." Alexia composed herself and began to leave. Staying back would only cause trouble. The Alpha must not know she was evesdropping, and now she even heard the entire conversation.

There are still speaking inside at it is but she's curious no more.

She only wanted to know why the unknown lady was brought in and now, she's heard enough to last her a decade.

"Wait, don't go." Ava blocked her way before she could leave, arms stretched outm

"I need to know what you were doing at the door."

Alexia stopped. If there's anything she wasn't expecting, it's a confrontation from her. "I am the Alpha's mate. I didn't trespass and I think I have every reason to be anywhere I want to be around him."

"I don't think I get you. You… you're Alpha Steele's mate?" Ava's arms slumped back to her sides when Alexia nodded her head at her.

"I wasn't told. I didn't expect him to have a mate, I'm sorry for questioning you." She quickly apologized, itching her nape as she spoke, her eyes roaming Alexia's face.

"It's nice meeting you." Just as Alexia wanted to leave, Ava stretched out a palm toward her for handshake and just as Alexia looked down at it, a guard burst in between them. "I'm sorry Ms but you're not allowed to make any forceful contact with the princess."

Not only was Ava taken aback, she was able to confirm her assumption. She knew she looked royal from the start. "And what princess is that?"

When she questioned, and the guard replied with, "The Lycan princess," Alexia was already on her way back to her room.

After all she's heard the Luna say behind the closer door, she's unable to spend even more minute with her.

Her back hit her bed and she sighed into her palms.

She knew the moment the physician annouced she's barren to the Luna that she didn't like her at all, but she didn't think the Luna would bring in a breeder for her mate so soon.

She believed she was going to have some patience for them.

It was basically just yesterday when her mate marked her. They are taking things slow but nevertheless, they're getting somewhere.

No, she's not trying to say getting in bed with the Alpha would result into pregnancy and that the physician was telling a blatant lie on her, but she wanted to give herself some benefit of doubt.

And if the moon goddess has a slight good in stock for her for once, she would listen to her heart cries and not make their assumptions true. Because right now, right from the bottom of her heart, she's getting tired. Although she's not the type to give you easily.

Tears is springing from her eyes. The lady's arrival in here now means nothing other than a completion; something she never wants to be in with anyone.

It's already tough living with a mother-in-law that won't accept her. Now, there's another lady for her mate.

As she was thinking this, she heard loud footsteps approaching which can only belong to the Alpha. Hey eyes widened, she kicked off her footwear and went under the covers, quickly.

She heard everything- the sound of how steps against the flooring as he walked in and even got closer to see whether she was truly sleeping.

She had to steadily make her snores louder before she could get him to leave.

The door closed upon his exit and she sighed, uncovering to the bedsheet from over her head to take a breath.

She jerked the bedsheet away, and set her feet on the floor, about to rise up and alas, the door was flung open… her eyes jamming with a pair of red eyes belonging to the… Alpha!

It was too late. He entered and she picked at her nails, nowhere to hide.

When he got closer, she stilled turning as still as a rock.

"I don't need to ask around before knowing you haven't had dinner. Why?"

Her shoulders relaxed, happy he isn't speaking anything about how he's just caught her pretense red-handed. "I'm full. I don't want to eat anything. I don't have an appetite also."

"Which of the three?" As he crossed his arms over his chest, her eyes strayed to his biceps and she looked away before he can apprehend her.

"The being full one, sorry." She laughed, just so she wouldn't take her eyes back to that enticing spot.

"I'll try and believe you. I'll take my leave now." He waited for few seconds before turning for the door.

However, before finally leaving, he looked behind his shoulder at her. "That was a bad fake pretense, by the way."
