"And why is that?" Alexia asked as she took a bite from the cake with a fork. It was only when she's had it in her mouth did she realize she's not the only one at the table.
"Oh, I'm sorry." She laughed and he remained laid back against his seat. "I think you should dig into the food you're so interested in rather than asking why. Or I can call someone to clear it up. Kad–"
"No! No please." She almost shouted and he smirked a little. "That's what I thought."
He was amazed how she payed him no mind as she ate, her head almost inside the plates. She must have been hungry, but then when is she never? He resisted the urge to laugh and concentrated on his own food.
Which he couldn't even concentrate on and when she finished he hadn't even ate enough to pass him through lunch.
Since there's still a lot on the table, Alexia didn't shy away from serving herself more when she glanced at his plate. She's going to go at a slow pace now so as to make sure Alpha Steele eats enough before they leave.
"I have something to discuss with you when we are done." She looked at him over her food.
"And why don't you say it now?" He urged.
She dropped her cutleries and nodded.
"I think you should release Ava from the cell because I think she's spent a night there and that's enough. If you're to even act at all according to me I'd have said you shouldn't bother giving her any punishment, the moon goddess will deal with her when it's time. Now that you've taken matter into your hands, I think you should release her."
When he didn't speak, she looked behind her, "Let me call your Beta. He should go and bring her out, she must be hungry by now and…"
"Stop." He ordered and her head swirled around to face him.
"She's not leaving there. Not until I feel she's learnt a little bit of lesson."
She gulped down nothing. "Your guards are starving her, don't you see? It's not until she dies here, I'm feeling so pitiful towards her. I think Kade is not nearb, I'll go tell him to release her–" She made to stand up.
"Sit down, you're going nowhere or you need me to repeat it? Mere looking at it you are truly not bothered by the shits that lady told to your face or what is the meaning of these pity you're showing? It's getting on my nerves, so you better sit here and don't move an inch!"
"I… I'm certain she's starving. They aren't feeding her, please, just let me go. I can call Kade, they should let her out of the cell. What if she falls ill?" She constantly looked behind at for any sight of Kade as she grumbled.
If it wasn't because of what had happened last night that made her forget Ava is still in cell, it was that same night she's going to persuade him to let her go. She's feeling bad for her, and he doesn't seem to get it.
"I don't care. I'm sorry I look like I do but I don't fucking care. The more time she spends in there the more she learns how to run her mouth and stop blunting the shits that's none of her business, don't you think?" He's pissed, above measure.
How can he say such demeaning statement to her but here is his mate almost peeing her pants because of her? This is absurd.
Alexia frowned, stomping her feet. "She's learnt her lesson. I can see it all over her when I gave some food to her that the maid was depriving her off. Look, her lack of food won't only cause her to be lean but could cause some health issues to. I'm not happy with her being there, and am serious."
"You did what?" He half yelled, shocked. He shouldn't have let her out of her sight yesterday night. She did what? Oh, god-damnit.
"I did what was right. I'm not taking any judgement on my hands, sooner or later she's going to be dealth with in the future so why should I bother myself? Let's finish eating and then we sort this." She noticed his mood has shifted and didn't want to ruin things any further.
"No. I think am done here, inasmuch as you continue to speak of that woman." The Alpha pushed his chair back and stood, rounding the table to walk away.
"Okay, I promise I'll keep shut." She ran over to him and her promise was what made him slow his walking pace, allowing her to meet up with him.
"But…" before she finish saying, a sharp glare at her and she sighed, stopping.
He's not understanding her. Her way of life is really simple. She believes she doesn't need to repay evil with evil, that's one thing karma is there for. When time comes, it'd be there to fight her battles.
All this locking up of Ava she sees it as nothing but mere waste of time. That lady doesn't seem like someone who will stop any time soon, that too with the Luna by her side.
A reason making her suffer in there isn't the way out. She's barren and that's not a lie, at least that's what the pack's physician had annouced. Also if the Luna hadn't told Ava, there won't be anything for Ava to ridicule her of.
"Let's go back and eat then. Did you even eat at all?" She asked him, smiling as she attempted lifting the tensed air.
"I want to go inside." That was all he said before walking ahead of her and when he reached the entrance, the door was let open for him and he walked inside without waiting for her.
Okay, there it is, she's just successfully ruined a happy day and got him mad at her too.
