Pack house, Cold Moon Pack
"If only you knew how I felt. If only you could see the way my heart aches for you. I would be the perfect Luna for you, I would be the mother of your children, the one to carry on your legacy." All these were murmured with her tracing the lines of his face with her eyes.
It was easy, so easy to slip in after Kade wasn't at the Alpha's doorstep. It's a mystery how she can be so smart.
The blossoming smile on her face died a painful death when someone barged into the room… Kade.
"What is the meaning of this intrusion, Kade?" the Alpha jolted out of slumber to growl afterward.
"Forgive me, Alpha. Ava was in your chamber... I thought..." he bowed a form of apology for the great mistake he had made.
"You thought what, Kade?" Alpha who's insanely feeling sleepy can't be more torn between what decision to make. Why's he talking about and why'd he barged into his room this late hour? "Where is the Ava?"
Alongside Kade, he swept his eyes across the room void of any additional presence.
Unbeknownst to Kade who now looked like the liar, Ava was under the nearest desk, and since her scent is masked, no one can sense a thing.
Ava regretted ever coming in at that bad timing when she spent the whole time under the desk, only chanced to go out at midnight beta has gone for his room, and if course, excuses was what she handed the guards at stand.

Morning
Alexia, in her room, waited anxiously for the Alpha to visit, but he never came. As the hours ticked by her hunger pangs increased until finally, she gave in, allowing the maid to bring her food on her bed.
The door creaked open at last the sound reverberating through the room and alerting Alexia who looked up, her eyes meeting those of the Alpha.
"Alexia, How are you feeling?" He asked, concerned. He can't even eat, he wanted to see her first.
"I am getting better I think, although am still weak and feeling numb pains still." She shifted in bed, the maid feeding her taking a pause.
"This illness has hit you hard. It is good to see you are recovering, soon you'll be up on you first." His eyes swept over her but no matter what he couldn't pull a smile, not used to it.
"I trust you will continue to see to Alexia's needs, Mina," Alpha Steele said, his gaze fixed on the maid for a second. "She must regain her strength as soon as possible, you know."
"Yes, my lord, I will do all that I can to assist her." Even after the maid responded, his gaze lingered on Alexia a moment longer before he turned to leave and she smiled at his back view as he retreated.
'Why does the food taste even sweeter when he came?' She thought but quickly chided herself.

Market place, Cold Moon Pack
Suddenly, Kade caught sight of her and how her cheeks flushed with color immediately whereas she looked worried before.
"Leila!" he called out, his voice higher than the crowd's noise as he quickened his steps towards her.
"You came!" she exclaimed, her palms covering her mouth and he took got closer and then take her hand in his.
"Forgive me for my tardiness, Leila. Our Luna has been ill, and I've had to assist with her with whatever she needs." He spoke apologizing.
"The Luna is ill? Is it serious?" She's now concerned. No wonder her mate had been so late, that usual.
"It was, but she is recovering. She is in capable hands, I assure you."
"I am glad to hear it. And what of the Alpha?" Her face once again relaxed, taking in their entangled hands now.
"The Alpha is attending to matters of the pack, you know he's concerned for the Luna, of course, but he must also ensure that the pack remains stable in these uncertain times, he's dealing with a lot."
"The pack is troubled then?" she asked lowering her voice curiously, this time she wasn't smiling.
"There is always unrest. It is the nature of our kind, we wolves, Leila." He admitted, swinging their hands as they strolled to where their legs leads.
"Kade, I know you are devoted to the pack, to the Alpha but what of us? When will we be joined and seal our bond?"
Kade sighed at her next question.
"I wish I knew, Leila. The pack must come first, and the Alpha must give his blessing. But I promise you, I will not delay this any longer than necessary."
"I am yours, Kade. And I want to be yours, forever. Remember that." She tried not to shed any tears.
"My parents too. Come soon, okay Kade? I want you to meet them soon. They must know that you are the one I have chosen."
"I will come, Leila. Your parents will know that I love you, and that I will protect you, no matter what. Just a little time." A little time to let the pack house's situation lessen and then he can break the news to the Alpha.
As they left the market place, Kade and Leila moved deeper into the woods, and they shifted, into their wolf forms.
The pair raced through the woods their bodies colliding frequently as they ran the woods, like they've always been doing.
Kade's larger form darted in and out of the trees, his muscles rippling and bones cracking while Leila's smaller frame nipped playfully at his heels to hunt him now.
She can never win him, they've been doing this hunting game since they met and spoke and yet she's just a small version of him. Moreover he's bigger than her.
"When will you accept defeat?" As they changed back into their human form behind separate trees, he teased her.
"Never." She picked her trouser pants from the ground and wore it. They spent the rest of the evening together before they departed to their different houses.
