12.You kissed me!

**Eve**

Eve woke up dazed, stretching her sore limbs in a lazy way. She opened her eyes and looked around, jumping out of bed like a frightened rabbit.

"Where the hell am I?" she whispered to herself. Eve tried to put together whatever she could remember from the day before.

"Okay, Eve think, you woke up, greeted a guest, and went to the nightclub together. Had a couple of drinks and then..." The realization hit her harder than a wall of bricks. "Eros, you nasty bastard," Eve growled lowly, figuring that she most likely had too many drinks, and he took her there.

"Did I hear my name?" Eve turned her body towards the bedroom door with inhumane speed, throwing a death stare at the man, who stood in the doorway.

"Must admit, you do look hot when you're pissed. My advice though- cover yourself up, not that I haven't seen all of that, but you might feel a little uncomfortable, standing naked in front of me," a flashy grin glued on his lips as he took in the view. Eve stood in the middle of his bedroom, no clothing whatsoever, earning a growl of appreciation from within his chest. First, she raised an eyebrow in question, then she finally looked down and noticed that she was, indeed, completely bare. Eros switched his weight from one leg to another, trying to hide how aroused he was. Close to feeling an actual physical pain as his hardened member pressed against the tight jeans he wore. Quickly, Eve grabbed a bedsheet and covered her body, stepping back, cornering herself away from the beast.

"Did we?" she suddenly asked, her bottom lip trembled in fear. Eve must feel something today if they did spend the night together. Claudia spoke about her first experience with a man multiple times, and she always mentioned how sore she was. Weirdly enough, Eve didn't feel any different, nor did she feel sore. She took a deep breath and looked into his eyes. The grin on his face turned into one of amusement. He took a few steps but stopped abruptly in the middle of the bedroom. They stood in silence, just watching each other. Eve became anxious. What if they did do something last night? What if she is no longer a virgin, and now, she's stuck with the beast? She might not be the brightest person out there, but she does understand that once shifters complete the mating- there's no way out.

"I can assure you, if something had happened between us yesterday- you would feel it today," he flashed a quick, bright smile at Eve and laughed.

"You had a little too many drinks yesterday, and I decided to take you back home. I did think of sending you back to your home, but what's the fun in that, right? As soon as we stepped inside my house, you started complaining about the room temperature being too high. You had that cute pout on your face; I simply couldn't resist. I let you stay in my bedroom since it has an air conditioning unit installed, and the temperature problem could be fixed. Please note that I did try to explain that to your drunk, little self. As you can see, you didn't listen, and the next moment your clothing flew everywhere. I went into the closet to get you one of my shirts, thinking that you'll need a nightgown, and that's the closest thing to one I can provide. When I returned, you were out cold, in my bed, and by then butt naked." As Eros spoke, the grin on his face grew wider. He enjoyed the situation they had ended up in, and the look on Eve's face was priceless.

"Please tell me that you closed your eyes," Eve whined, feeling ashamed of her actions. She mentally scolded herself, making a promise that it was the first and last time she drank alcohol.

"Eve, do you think that I'd take advantage of you being drunk?" Eros questioned her, the grin on his lips faded. He felt disappointed and hurt. The only woman he truly wanted, was thinking of him lower than anyone else ever did.

"I told you what I think about shifters. And for me, you are the Devil," she turned her face away, unable to watch him break even more. Maybe, if she kept acting like this, she won't feel anything for the beast, and he will drop the idea of mating her. This day, next week, she might be a free woman.

"The Devil is and always will be a gentleman, Eve," Eros added, turning his back to her. "I wouldn't take advantage of your drunken state. I couldn't. Nor did I see anything yesterday. You can think of me as the worst person alive, for I am the beast, monster, and now the Devil, in your eyes, but I would never act in such a manner. I've seen as much as you let me see today, yet I did warn you about covering yourself up. Isn't that the behaviour of a good man?" He shook his head, deeply concerned about what she thought of him. After taking a deep breath, he kept talking:

"Keep yelling, screaming about how bad I am. I don't mind. The only problem I have is that you keep attacking me without giving me a real chance. You don't know anything about me, Eve, not a single thing, besides my name. I did a lot of digging on you, to prepare myself before trying to face you again. And you don't care, even a bit.”

“I know how much you hate my kind, but please, please try to understand how much I am trying here. I can't be the perfect man, not if you won't allow me to prove myself. I'll give you some privacy; breakfast will be ready in ten minutes. Join me if you're hungry." With that, he left the bedroom and closed the door behind him.
Eve couldn't believe what he said. Did she mistake the shifter? Or was he playing some mind games on her, just to get her into bed? She let her eyes roam over the room, noticing two piles of clean, neatly folded laundry placed on a chest of drawers. She looked down at herself again, and decided that walking around, wrapped in a bed sheet, wasn’t the brightest idea. Eve approached the drawers and looked over the pieces of clothing left for her. There was a little note left next to the smallest pile. First, she checked the clothing- one was the dress and undergarments she wore yesterday, another- a long t-shirt, sweatpants, and pair of fluffy, comfortable-looking socks. Eve bit her lip, debating on which clothing she should wear. She wanted to go for the most comfortable option, yet she didn't know how Eros would react to her choice. Then again, if she chose the dress, it would show off her body, the idea didn't sit well in her mind.
She grabbed the little note and read it out loud, a slight smile formed on her lips.

"Good morning, Evangeline.
You look very peaceful when you sleep- therefore, I decided to let you rest. If I'm not back, around when you wake up- just know that I'll arrive any minute now. I've left some clothing for you, even planned a little, early morning trip to the store- I can't let those little feet freeze, so I bought you a pair of socks. (There's a few more, in different colors, hidden in the bottom drawer, just in case, if you feel like choosing a particular color today.)
Feel free to take a shower and explore the house if I'm still not back home.
I'd like to know, would you accompany me for breakfast, after that I can drive you back home- if you'll want to.
Did I mention that I'll be back soon?
Yeah, I did. Sorry.

Eros x"

Eve giggled like a child, placing the note back on the drawers and lent down, checking if the shifter bought her multiple pairs of socks. Her eyes widened, seeing a drawer full of fluffy socks, in all possible colors. She sat down and laughed loudly, unable to hold back anymore. As she did, Eros rushed into the room, his eyes dark, just a look on his face could kill.

"Eve, are you alright? Did something happen? Are you hurt?" He spoke worriedly, kneeling next to her, checking for injuries.

"I'm not hurt, actually the opposite- I'm amused." She giggled, somehow finding the whole situation comical.

"Is that so?" Eros grinned, leaning closer to her face, eyes fixated on Eve's lips.

"Yeah, you bought me so many pairs of socks. It's funny, really, never would I have thought that such a big and scary-looking man as yourself would plan a trip to the store for socks in all rainbow colors. I can imagine the look on everyone's faces when they noticed you." She almost fell backward, laughing hysterically.
Eros chuckled, hiding real emotions he felt. In the back of his mind, Ares howled in joy, way too excited about seeing his mate happy. Eros leaned dangerously close to Eve's face, biting his bottom lip. His mind was occupied with the memories of how sweet her lips tasted the day before. He wanted nothing more than to savour that taste over and over again. Just before he could try and kiss Eve, her palm collided with his cheek, leaving a bright red mark on it. Eve jumped to her feet, looking down at Eros, eyes widening.
"I remember, you kissed me!”
