42. The fall of the Prince Gabriel.
"You might feel big and strong now when you're facing us, but wait till the moment when your father finds out what have you done. Do you take me as a fool? I am a Queen, I've studied the law of our Kingdom and yours, Prince Gabriel. Leaving the Underworld unattended, without permission given is a crime. Should we talk about threats and demands, you have no rights to present? One snap of my fingers and you'll be stripped of the title. I can assure you, Fenrir is in his prime, he can lead for centuries, or any other candidate can take over the throne. The choice is yours." Eve and Gabriel lost themselves in the heat of the argument. Not even one noticed the slight, sweet scent of the Princess lingering around the halls. The King still sat on his throne, as calm as he had never been. A mischievous grin appeared on his lips; Eros loved seeing Eve so demanding, claiming her title. She was a great Queen as a human, and even more remarkable when she has been gifted a beast. The woman was born a leader, a fighter and true Royalty. Eros could barely contain the excitement and pride he felt for his mate. Day by day, she kept surprising him, making her King more proud within each word she spoke. Not to mention how hot she looked when she was angry, standing up against someone who didn't know his place.
Eve was a dime, and Eros couldn't be happier about the woman, who loved him to the core.
"Isn't she remarkable, my Queen?" Eros kept staring at his mate, addressing the words to the young Prince.
Truthfully, he didn't intend to hold any discussion with a spoiled child, but Eve wouldn't give up. She wanted to talk; she wanted to know why the Prince arrived. By the time when he will walk Gabriel to the castle gate- Fenrir will be there, waiting for his son.
"Quit your casanova act, Eros, we're discussing an important matter. We're talking about my baby here, and this little wannabe demon wants to take her by force. Speaking of which has anyone ever told you why a demon and fae had a fallen angel as their child? If we think of it- you should have been a half-breed, but instead, you are what you are. Doesn't it feel wrong, having no idea why you are who you are?" Eve grinned, striking the only topic that might grab the young male's attention. Of course, it was a risk to take, but the look on his face was an instant pay off for her attempt to intimidate him.
"Alright, Queen Eve, I'm very much curious about your assumptions. Is there something you could know about me than I know myself? Go on, entertain me." Gabriel encouraged Eve to speak up in the most vulgar manner. The male waved his hand, acting as if the Queen stood lower on the food chain than he did.
"Boy, disrespect my Queen, and you're facing the consequences. Me, I am the fucking consequences. I will gut you alive in front of your father, and the old man will do nothing to save you. Remember your place; you're not strong enough to face me yet. Keep that dirty mouth of yours shut before I help you to zip it." Eros rose from his throne, showing off the vast difference between their body shapes. Gabriel was a little shorter, leaner while the King was enormous, a pile of muscles over muscles. His body shook in anger; the beast in him was ready to tear the young male in pieces.
"My apologies, Queen Eve." Gabriel alerted his eyes and bit onto his lip as his words filled the throne room. He wasn't one to apologise or ever admit his mistakes, but at this point, he really didn't stand any chance against the King. To face Eros, and kill him- Gabriel needed to become a King himself.
"Would you mind to tell me more about the information you've managed to gather? After that, we may speak about the engagement plans. Let's see where the conversation gets us, shall we?" He stepped back a little and bowed his head, showing respect towards both Royals. Eve gagged at his actions, making her mate burst out in laugher.
"Alright, alright," she sighed, sitting back on the throne. Her eyes scanned their surroundings, making sure that both of them were still as safe as they could be. For some reason, Eve felt like something had changed, something terrible and unpleasant just took place under their noses, but all of her suspicions were instantly addressed towards Gabriel.
"Your father is a monster, as we call him. And no, by any means, it is not an offensive type of name we chose. Fenrir is one of a kind; a man stuck between the shifter primal ways and a demon. Your mother, on the other hand, is everything we consider as good and harmless. She is a fae, a woman who could twist any males mind if she wanted to. You see, unlike you, your mother understands that shifters from the Kingdom shouldn't mate to creatures of the Underworld simply because of experience she had with her mate. Selene is a powerful woman; she rules over whatever is sacred for us; she is our mother and creator. So, imagine the state of shock our Goddess ended in after finding out about their union. You are a punishment, Gabriel. You are what the Goddess gave your parents to remind that you shouldn't mess with her ways and children. Nothing about you is half as unique, as you think. Sit down, if needed, digest the information and question your parents, if you don't believe me. Yet, now, when you know- give me one good reason for me to let you get any near my baby. Of course, my daughter is no saint, but she doesn't deserve the same fate your mother faced by following your father." Eve rolled her eyes, unable to believe that she actually gave an educational lecture to the young male. One about himself.
"That's fucking bullshit. I am the Prince of Underworld. I am the firstborn and only heir of the mighty ruler Fenrir. My fate has been written in the stars; I was meant to become powerful and rule over everyone. You can lie as much as you want, Queen Eve, but I will not believe even a single word you say. All those things are a fruit of your imagination, an easy way to get your precious daughter out of the deal." Gabriel had a lot to risk, and even more to lose, but her words got stuck in his mind. As if the Queen engraved those terrible assumptions in the back of his mind.
"Boy, do you really have the audacity to call my mate a liar? You have a damn death wish." Eros shook his head and laughed. Within seconds he appeared right in front of the young male and leaned closer, ending up face to face with Gabriel. The Kings eyes started changing their color, little by little, warning the young male that his beast was way too close to breaking free.
If there was one thing people knew about shifters, it was that they shouldn't target their mates. If a male wolf had something to live for- it was his mate. Finding a soulmate was nearly impossible for Lychanatropes, so Eros appreciated and protected Eve more than any other shifter. She was the mother of their children, his Queen and his reason to live. No one, no matter how powerful the person was, could get away with disrespecting his Queen.
Gabriel shrunk back, unable to hold the intense eye contact. Being an Underworld Royalty didn't mean that he could ever deal with the pressure from someone so uniquely powerful.
"I'm not here to talk about my parents or who the fuck I am. I know who I am better than anyone else. I am Prince Gabriel, the fallen angel and the only heir to the Underworld throne. I'm sick of repeating myself over and over again just because you can't understand such simple things. I should be treated with the respect I deserve." The Prince couldn't get over his pride, no matter how dangerous the situation was. His tongue was his biggest enemy.
"Respect is something you earn boy; no one should give you even a piece of it for free. Now, how about I teach you a lesson about respect? You see, my beast, Ares, is rather fond of feasting on the flesh of the creatures which came from the darkness. I'm sure a Royalty could be a true delicacy." The sickening grin on his face, paired with razor-sharp canines nearly piercing his lips, made Eros look terrifying.
The Prince glanced at Eve, wondering why she wasn't trying to stop her mate, but instead she smiled. Gabriel was sure that all those tales about how cruel and vile his kind is was untrue. Those tales must be written about Eros and his mate, the two were perfect for each other- perfect psychopaths.
Before Gabriel could utter a word, the throne room door was kicked open, an immensely angered Wrath appearing out of nowhere. The King and Queen didn't react, seeing the deadly sin up close. The Prince, on the other hand, could feel goosebumps covering his whole body. Was that even possible? Being so intimidated that even his body reacted in fear? But who would blame him; the young male was standing in one room with two most dangerous predators nature had ever made.
"Wrath, such a pleasant surprise. Please, come in, make yourself home." The Queen spoke up. She didn't hide how fake her words were, yet she didn't try to chase him away as well.
Gabriel kept staring at everyone, wondering that on Earth was happening around him. The male arrived to announce his claim on the Kings daughter, yet ends up in a trap. They were supposed to be scared of him! At least that was what he thought.
"Wait till my father finds out what happened here, you just wait!" Gabriel screamed in anger, tightening his hands in fists. Everyone nearly broke out in laugher as the male's face became red as a tomato. He was a view to see, his rotten spoiled nature showing off no matter what or how he did.
"Stop the act right here. Your father informed you about our daughter and her mate. Have you met him yet? A pleasant young man, if you ask me. Sure, he might have tiny little anger issues, and perhaps he's addicted to his murderous deeds, but who doesn't have any faults in them? Nobody's perfect." Eve sounded like she was praising Wrath, who by any means, didn't look like the friendliest person ever. In fact, the look on his face meant only one thing- he came there to kill. And his eyes were fixated on his target, no other than Gabriel himself.
"You're all going down, mark my words. I'm going to kill all of you, one by one. First, I'll kill your precious little baby, in front of both of you." Gabriel spat venomous words, pointing his finger at Eve and Eros. "Then, I'm going to kill you. I'll make sure to torture you a little, perhaps make you watch how I torture your mate and only after that, when you will beg me to kill you, I might be merfecul enough to fulfil your wish." The Prince pointed at Eve, his eyes full of anger and hate. "When you're done, oh, mighty Queen Eve, I'll get back to your mate. For you, King Eros, I have a particular plan. You'll lose everything- the Kingdom, your family and friends. Everything you ever held any value in will be long lost and gone." Gabriel laughed, mocking the angered facial expressions both Royals had. His anger blinded the young male; he didn't notice how quickly both Royals started shifting into their beasts and kept talking. He was on top of the world, throwing death threats at everyone who crossed his path. "I'm not done. Oh, trust me, I'm not done yet. I've been dreaming about this damned day for ages, and you shall listen to what I have to say. When comes the day, when you'll have nothing to live for- you'll serve your last purpose. Locked in a fucking dog cage, you'll beg for the death the same as your Queen did beforehand. But, instead, of giving that to you, I'll fuck and claim your precious daughter right in front of your eyes. I can taste her fear already; I can imagine the look of agony and pain on your face. That's the day when I'm going to fulfil my purpose, and our beautiful Ally will rule over both worlds, side by side with me." The sick, outrageous laughed filled the room, the sound echoing on each wall.
Eve growled, ready to lunge at the young male, thirsting for blood. He had threatened her family, her Kingdom and loved ones. The Queen wouldn't give up until the Prince is dead.
She took the first step, too late to notice Wrath standing right behind Gabriel.
Watching him was a once in a lifetime experience, the sins killed quietly, leaving no witnesses, but this was the time when he risked it all.
The male tapped on Gabriel's shoulder, as soon as the Prince faced Wrath- he took a tight hold on the sides of his face and brought his mouth to the young male's neck. His actions were fast and barely noticeable, Wrath tore Gabriel's throat out with teeth alone as if the action was the most natural thing to happen.
Eros smirked and stepped aside, both he and Even watched how the male tore Gabriel's body apart, stocking his body parts in a huge pile. Wrath grinned at his masterpiece and stood up. The male slid hand in the pocket of his jacket and grabbed a lighter. Within seconds the pile of flesh was on fire, right in the middle of the throne room.
"Killing a fallen angel is never as easy as it seems. Burial is unacceptable; it doesn't kill the soul. If his body isn't burned within minutes after death, the soul could invade any body, trying to reach the purpose of the previous owner. Sorry for the mess." Wrath instantly explained his action, shrugged his shoulders, and turned his back to both Royals.
"Why the fuck are you here?" Even snarled at him, unable to contain the anger. She was genuinely grateful for his quick reaction and help of getting rid of an enemy, but that didn't mean that she approved of him, taking her daughter.
"The Princess." Wrath replied, heading for the enormous door.
He didn't want to extend the discussion more; the male felt that something was bothering his mate; he had to make sure that Ally was safe.
"She's in her room, asleep. You're not needed here." Even kept trying to get rid of him, unaware of the actual danger her daughter might be in.
"Is that so? Alright, why is her scent so weak around here then? It's nearly faded. She's not in the castle."
The Queen paled, her eyes widening. She couldn't believe that her anger and pride blinded her. How couldn't she notice her child missing? Maybe that was the reason why she felt uneasy, and it had nothing to do with Gabriel?
"She's safe. I'll bring her home soon."
