54. Big bad wolf, huh?
They reached the packhouse faster than expected, maybe because Eros was the one who was driving. Perhaps because he felt the need to hold Eve, and just simply have her by his side more than the two other men would ever understand. His need for his mate grew stronger within every second passing, nearly driving him insane.
"God, I thought we would never get here in one piece. You're insane dude, I tell you," Zander held a hand above his heart, and breathed in slowly. Even his knees were shaking- maybe werewolves were more reliable than humans, but they were not, by any means, immoral.
"I could agree, young man; my grandson shouldn't be driving a car in such a state. Frankly, I doubt that I'll ever get in a vehicle with him by the steering wheel," Lord Balthazar added, dusting off imaginary dirt from his fancy looking coat.
"Shut up, both of you, I'm not here to deal with whining kids, I'm here to deal with that pussy, who claims to be a fucking Alpha," Eros roared, making Zander flinch, and for one second, both of men thought that even Lord would bare his neck to Eros. He would; he definitely would- after Eros agrees to take the throne, for now, he has to fight his instincts, and appear to be superior.
"Jesus, who got your panties in a twist? Go ahead, big boy, we will stay here and wait," Zander rolled his eyes and stepped aside, pulling Lord with him. One thing he knew for sure was that nobody should stand in his best friend's way. Nobody, no matter what happens, and no matter how important, the person thinks he or she is. Nobody should ever risk their lives over some bit of pride left in them. The thought itself was outrageous and ridiculous. Lord seemed to become a bit confused, yet his body relaxed as soon as he noticed that Eros just nodded, and left. Both men stood by the car; Balthazar kept questioning Zander about bits of their friendship, eager to find out what kind of childhood his grandson had, and how the pack treated him as far. Not even for a second, Eros thought of being polite, and knocking on the door, waiting for an invitation to get inside. Instead, he kicked the door out of its frame, the sound of the impact probably waking up at least half of people who lived in the packhouse. He took in a deep breath and smirked.
"Here, kitty, kitty, kitty. Come out, come out, wherever you are. It's time to play," Eros yelled out like a mad man, reminding a psycho serial killer from horror movies. His smile grew wider as he heard loud steps, rushing down the stairs.
"You bastard, do you have any idea what time it is now?" Xavier stumbled, nearly falling down the stairs, cursing the whole world under his breath.
"Who the fuck cares when our Alpha has blocked everyone out? Not my fault. Also, I'm not responsible for the door. You have to care about your property more, a mere knock and 'boom' it breaks down like a twig," Eros started the dialogue with Xavier rather calmly, sliding his hands into his jeans pockets, holding himself back from lunging at the Alpha.
"Maybe because I need some sleep? Actually, why the fuck should I even explain my actions to someone like you. What the Hell are you doing in my packhouse, at this hour?" Xavier roared, taking significant steps- to reduce the distance between himself and Eros.
"Understandable, all pretty, little kittens need their beauty sleep. I'm done with your bullshit Xavier, I'm done with your imaginary superiority, and even more- I'm done with your temper tantrums. You're the fucking leader, grow a pair, grab it, and start doing your job properly, before someone else takes the role," even though the words sounded like dropping in venom, Eros kept his stance calm, and tone of voice rather quiet. Unlike Alpha, he cared about the well-being of the rest of the pack members, who lived in the house.
"Cut the crap. Why are you here?" Xavier rolled his eyes, stopping just a few feet away from Eros. He was pissed, yes, especially after Luna ran off again, but he knew that pissing off Eros would end badly- for him, not anyone other.
"You're unreachable, so is my mother, and by some odd coincidence, my mate went missing. Care to explain?"
"And how am I the blame for your inability to fucking leash your bitch? The fuck I care where or with whom she is, I don't give a damn," the words left Xavier's mouth before he could consider how bad the situation might get after Eros hears them. The Alpha's eyes widened, facing a very pissed off Lycanthrope, barely holding himself back from killing the weaker werewolf. His breathing became rigid, Eros took a step forward, his body shaking in anger.
"Bitch? Is that how you refer to your future Queen? Do you have any idea what I'm allowed to do to your miserable self, at this point?" Eros didn't accept the throne yet, but it didn't mean that Ares wasn't taking it. Quite the opposite- his beast already swore to sit upon that throne in the nearest future, holding his mate by hand, leading the kingdom together. Xavier was shaking like a tree branch in the wind, frozen on the spot, only now realizing how big of a mistake he had made. He tried to step back, yet it wouldn't save him from the enraged beast. The Alpha ended up pressed against the wall, his throat tightly held down by an enormous claw. He had enough courage to look into his opponent's eyes, all color drained from his face, on the spot. A pair of golden yellow orbs dug into his soul, making him wince in need to drop on his knees in front of the beast. Royal gold symbolizes power, greed, and bloodlust- the things each wolf dreamed of, yet could never get. Eros sniffed him, smiling at the smell of fear, his face turning in disgust after another scent invaded his nostrils. Blood. He leaned closer, inhaling the man again, hoping to figure out whose blood was that.
"I'm curious. Since when are you hitting my mother?" Eros questioned Xavier, spitting words through gritted teeth. If that was even possible, Alpha became even paler.
"I - I..." Xavier stuttered, unable to form a decent sentence, to get out of the mess he created.
"You fucking what? I want to know for how long have you been abusing my mother behind my back? Are you fucking cheating on her? Is that the reason why she's not here to get your ass out of the beatings? Is that the reason why she fucking blocked everyone out and has been nowhere to be found? Or are you holding her locked somewhere, waiting till she bleeds to death?" Eros yelled in his face, his eyes switching between gold and blue, meaning that both human and beast side were fighting for dominance. Sadly, for Alpha, both sides, at this point, wanted to see him dead.
"I, listen, I..." as much as Xavier tried, he couldn't come up with a decent thought, or excuse to explain himself. At this point, he was held by the gunshot, and there was no way out of it.
A rock-solid fist collided with Xavier's nose, breaking it instantly, the sound of cracking echoed throughout the massive hallway.
"I said- fucking answer me," this time it was only Eros talking. He was the one responsible for the punch, and the one, who wanted to see Xavier dead more than anyone would ever want.
"It's not like you care about your mother!" Instead of getting out of the situation, Xavier made it worse, deciding to fight fire with fire. Eros honestly didn't care about his mother, as other kids did. The only difference was that it wasn't his fault- Luna kept pushing him away, ignoring and didn't even look at him as the same breed, so Eros didn't hold any blame in the awful relationship he had with his mother.
"No matter what, she's still my mother, dipshit!" Eros spat back, gladly punching the Alpha again.
"For fuck's sake, stop it!" Xavier yelled, trying to fight back, one unsuccessful attempt after another.
"Answer my questions before I start enjoying the sound of your cracking bones. I'll gladly break each bone in your body- one by one. Don't worry, I'll do it so slowly, so painfully- you'll beg me to kill you before we are halfway there," his tone wasn't one of warning, it was a promise.
"Alright, just stop fucking hitting me. I did hit her; she was acting like a fucking bitch and wouldn't listen. I've hit her a couple of times, nothing bad though. No, I am not holding her fucking locked away or waiting for her to bleed to death. I don't know, she said she was leaving for a fucking walk a couple of hours ago," Xavier spoke fast, not bothering to breathe while words flew out of his mouth.
"You forgot one. Have you been cheating on my mother?" Eros repeated himself.
Xavier kept quiet, averting his gaze in shame. Eros already knew what the answer would be, but he wanted to hear that out loud. He wanted Xavier to admit his doings.
"What's the matter, cat got your tongue?" Eros mocked him, putting a little more pressure on Xavier's neck, a warning for how fast he can cut the man's airways down.
"I did, okay? I've been doing that for ages, and she didn't complain even once. Stop acting like you know everything, or like you haven't made even a single mistake in your life. You are no God; you're a fucking bastard; my stupid mate had to have before I met her. Shit would be so much easier without you around," Xavier let out all of his anger. He did hate Eros from the first moment they met, but the hatred grew only within years. At first, Xavier thought that he could handle the idea of Eros being around, he was just a kid, after all. As time passed, and they found out that they are not able to have children- Xavier found himself blaming others for his misfortune. Alpha knew that he was the main problem, but his pride would never let him admit it. It was easier to blame Luna, for already bearing a child from another and the child, for taking his mother's strength and ability to give him pups.
"Ah, I wouldn't call myself a saint, especially now, knowing the thoughts I and my beast are having. It's a pity to see a seemingly powerful man with no brain cells. My mother didn't say a thing because she's your fucking mate; she wouldn't risk losing you over your mistakes. She would go through the pain and suffering while you fucked another and smile when you return home. Do you think you're the man, Xavier? Do you think that you know everything? The big, bad wolf, huh? Well, guess again. You aren't shit," Eros roared in full power, the windows shook with his words, waking up everyone, who was asleep just minutes ago. Eros extended his claw, ready to rip Xavier's face off when Zander ran inside of the packhouse.
"Eros, we know where Eve is. Come on; we have to hurry!" He yelled, gaining his friend's full attention. After hearing Eve's name, he instantly let go of Xavier and turned around, ready to bolt out of the building at full speed. Before he left, Eros turned around to take a last glance at the miserable looking, coughing man on the tiled floor.
"This isn't over yet; I'll come back and make you my bitch. That's a promise."
