55. YOU?

Deimos didn't bother to use his abilities to get closer to the Princess. The male was sure that by the time he got there- she would be nearly broken, sitting in the corner, crying her eyes out. Ally had tasted the bitter taste of a mate's betrayal; she would need a shoulder to cry on, and he would be there for her.

The young male didn't expect his father to look all around the Underworld to get him back there. By the time he reached the halfway line to the temple, one of his father's servants finally caught up with him.

"Young Master, you must return! It's urgent; your father has been looking for you everywhere!" The trembling boy sobbed in front of him.

Those tears were there for a reason; everyone knew how short temper Deimos had- pissing him off was more manageable than jumping over a tiny puddle. But not only that- Deimos was cruel and cold; he never listened to whatever others had to say. Since the boy caught on him, he had to do everything to ensure that his Lord's son would return. No one suspected that the big day would come as fast as it did- the great leader would be thrown off of his throne, and the true ruler would take his place. All creatures living in the shadows and Underworld knew that Fenrir wasn't the rightful leader.

"What might be more important than the goal I'm reaching right now? I'm halfway there, about to claim a mate- you should be proud of your Master. As soon as I mate the woman, I shall take my father's place, then you, the same as others, will be my servants. Please, do entertain me, and tell me what's important enough for me to get back there?" Deimos growled, growing impatient. He didn't want to listen, yet the male wasn't that foolish- the tiny servant might have vital information to share. He could just continue his journey, this time rushing to get there and claim Ally faster, but before that, he had to listen. If the situation were to be as tricky as the servant described, Deimos would have to forget his previous intentions.

"H-he's coming back, young Master. The true leader, he had sent out his shadows to warn everyone. Lord Fenrir and your father are waiting for your presence. The Lords need a plan to keep their titles. If the beast sits down on that throne, we're all as good as dead. Master Deimos, he will know what we did during his absence; the monstrous leader will enslave everyone, including you!" Little servant boy cried out, his eyes filled with terror. Of course, who wouldn't fear the man who was supposed to lead them? Something happened a couple of hundred years ago; he disappeared, leaving Lord Fenrir to sit in his place.

Fenrir wasn't quite the worst, nor the best leader. The older male was rather average, yet his late son was an actual Devil. Everyone hated him, and most creatures celebrated his death behind the Lord's back. Nobody knew how, why, or by whose hand the young male died- information was carefully hidden. Some said that the King himself killed the young male, while some rumored that it was the Queen. Only one thing was true- the bratty fallen angel paid a visit to Royalties and came back in a plastic zip bag. Fenrir wanted to start a war, he demanded justice, doing anything to revenge his son, but the elders wouldn't allow him to do anything. That is if the true ruler of the Underworld wouldn't appear to start the war.

"How much time do we have?" Deimos suddenly questioned the servant. His thoughts rushed; he couldn't risk it and follow his previous plan. Ally was a secondary problem now; she could wait. The male didn't need to worry about Wrath; his life was fucked up enough already. Perhaps waiting for a couple more days would be better- the Princess would be desperate for attention and someone's warmth. Deimos would go there later, act as if his behavior was just an act. In his eyes, Ally was stupid enough to believe him- all the male had to do was tell her a little lie. He would explain his doings as an attempt to protect her from Wrath since the deadly sin would show his true face if Deimos would make him feel a little threatened. He would tell Ally how he felt about her, lie about the day he fell in love with her, and how Deimos couldn't live without the Princess by his side. The silly girl would gladly seek help with elders, break the bond, and accept Deimos as her one and true mate. After that- he would have the power over her and her Kingdom.

"Roughly two hours, they said he had been close for all this time, watching over his kingdom. I don't know anything else; the Lord assumed that some of us might have mistreated his land or beliefs; therefore, the monster would come back. We hid women and children to keep those away from the possible blood bath; most men are getting ready to fight. Your father wouldn't keep talking about how he needed you, Master. He's sure that together you could develop a plan on how to hold onto the throne. Fenrir had been losing his mind, even banished his mate away. I'm sure he did it because he tried to protect the weakling, but Lillith didn't take it kindly. Master, it's a mess down there; we need you. If not to come up with a plan- at least one more warrior would be better. The more fighters we get, the bigger the possibility of victory," the ting boy spoke fastly, tugging on Deimos' hand. He tried to lead the bigger male back to the Underworld.

As much as Deimos wanted to flip everyone off and keep minding only his own business, he couldn't. Turning his back while Fenrir lost the throne would be stupid- the male had to fight no matter what. If the power goes back to the wrong hands, Deimos loses all chances to rule over everything and everyone. He needed Ally for the shifter Kingdom and Fenrir for the Underworld. Deimos had worked his ass off, manipulating everyone who could bring him any good; the young male wouldn't lose his hard work over an asshole who decided to show up. After all- how could he assume that the throne was still his if he left without any problem? That man didn't want the responsibility for his people; he dropped the weight on his friend's shoulders instead.

"Are we taking the shortcut, or we have to sneak around?" Deimos raised an eyebrow, sure that the servant boy would understand why the question had to be asked in the first place.

"We're sneaking in, young Master. When I contacted the Lord for the last time, he warned me to be careful. The leaders' men might surround the old castle; if we're not careful, they will kill us on the spot. He doesn't take intruders kindly, and technically, only Fenrir was allowed around the monster's castle. Yet, we have to get there, because he and your father occupied the old library, looking for answers in the books. The Lord is sure that he had seen some magic books around there; if they couldn't kill the true leader, they could try to imprison him for the time being. At least for as long as they come up with a more reliable plan. I was thinking about the shortcut first, but we can't take any chances, so we shall use the forests." The boy ran towards the nearest trees, his body changing a little. Servant or not, he was a brilliant boy- he made sure to shift little by little, avoiding everyone's gazes. He was a genius when it came to directions; while others often lost their way in a shadow form, he didn't. That's the main reason why Deimos' father kept the little boy around- he was useful. Tracking someone down or finding within seconds was the primary task of the servant boy. While others scrubbed the floors, this boy followed scents.

"Do you have enough energy to move around like a shadow, or should I help you out this time? It's not a big deal, I can carry you the most of our journey, and you'll help me sneak in unnoticed. I still can't orientate shit around that old castle, so you will have to take me to the library," Deimos let his eyes roam around their surroundings. It was getting a little dark, perfect for them to travel unnoticed. Even if a shifter or human was around- all they would think was that the wind fought its way through the trees. No one would ever guess who passed by if they weren't old enough or from the Underworld themselves.

"I don't think that I could take another trip in shadow form, sorry young Master. I spent most of my energy roaming around five cities and hundreds of acres of forests to finally catch you. If you don't mind, I shall take up the offer and rest before getting closer to the old castle. If I fall asleep, please wake me up at least five miles from the castle. That's about where I need to take the lead, but until then, I will regain enough energy to bring you to the Lord," the small boy smiled and closed his eyes, sighing heavily. As if it took no effort, the human form disappeared, and a little, shadowy figure left behind.

Deimos followed his lead, but the incubus silhouette was giant, so the male had to be more careful. Seeing such a massive shadow without a source to come from would make everyone too suspicious. Deimos grabbed the tiny shadow and rushed past trees, avoiding any place that seemed even a little suspicious. Of course, he could kill anyone in his way, just to hide the evidence, but there was no time for such fun. What he needed was a little more time. Thankfully, he found himself near the castle within a couple of minutes. Deimos knew that using the portal was dangerous, but he didn't have any other choice. If he didn't take the risk- they would arrive way too late. None of them wanted to face the mysterious owner of the Underworld throne. Some rumored that the male was the first demon, a pureblood monster. Some used to refer to him as the Devil, which wouldn't be surprising since the man ruled over the Underworld. For Deimos, he was nothing more than yet another problem in his way. As he got closer, he took a deep breath, catching on the unfamiliar scents. Multiple guards were surrounding the castle, nobody could get in or out anymore, yet the aura of power wasn't there. So the real leader wasn't around yet.

"Wake up, boy, the damn castle is surrounded, but I don't feel the presence of the leader yet. Show me how to get in," Deimos shook the tiny shadow, his eyes cautiously traveling around them. He would keep on watching the surroundings; even the smallest detail couldn't be missed.

"Follow me into that cave," the boy whispered, slowly moving towards the hidden cave between two large oak trees. If the boy didn't point in the direction, Deimos wouldn't notice where the secret thing was. "Be quiet, don't breathe if possible, and move slow. Those guards are built like cyborgs; the only thing they can't notice is anything too slow. They hear breathing, feel movements, and all other things. Be careful, young Master." The boy explained, slowly sliding into the darkness.

Deimos didn't answer; he had the information he needed, so the male would follow the little boy's example before something went wrong. He managed to get halfway when he lost the boy. The cave split into multiple passages, so Deimos had to choose one. There was no time or space for mistakes; if the male remembered right, he should enter a path leading straight forward. It took him nearly ten minutes to catch on the servant boy, who nervously awaited the Lord's sons' appearance.

"Now, follow me; we're almost there. I'll lead you to the library and go hide off, I'm not a fighter, and your father wouldn't allow me to fight either. He announced that he needs me alive; if the battle ends in our favor, everyone will need someone to follow the targets again. As soon as we get into the hall- follow three rights. If I'm not around, just turn to right every time you see a corner; that's how you'll find the library." The servant boy rushed further into the darkness.

Of course, Deimos managed to lose him again, but thankfully he knew where to go now. Following the directions the boy had given him, Deimos reached the library and barged in. His father and Lord Fenrir stood closer to the large bookshelves, each eagerly looking for particular books. For a moment there, Deimos wondered if he even truly wanted to be around those two. Both men were supposed to be powerful, yet acted like scared children as someone rumored powerful stood by the corner.

"Did I miss the party?" Deimos cleared his throat, gaining instant attention from both men. He expected them to smile or shake their heads, but the coldness in their stares didn't leave even for a second.

"No, but you sure did take your time to get here, son," his father approached him and threw his arm over the young male's shoulder. "We were waiting for you, actually. Since he did give us some time- we decided to stay here and see what else can be done. Unfortunately, no book has any answers, and the ruler is expecting our presence. Hopefully, you got in quickly; he did say something about his guards letting you pass by." Deimos raised an eyebrow as his father spoke. Fenrir approached the young male and placed a hand over his shoulder. The older male seemed completely broken- he lost everything he cared for.

"Let's go; he's expecting us," Fenrir spoke up and headed for the door. Deimos followed his head, and so did the Lord. All men wandered around the dark halls in silence. Deimos couldn't understand why and how the ruler arrived since he was told that it would happen in two hours.
Everywhere around the castle stood large, seemingly blood-covered guards. Deimos knew that he should be stronger than them, but it didn't change the fact that he did felt threatened by them.

As the trio approached the throne room door, guards opened them, nearly pushing all men inside. Fenrir and Deimos' father dropped on their knees in front of their new leader. The young male, on the other hand, didn't. He wanted to see who sat in the place, which he desired to have for years. The male's eyes widened as they noticed the stranger, sitting on the throne with the smuggest facial expression ever.
