17.Not who you think he is.

**Luna**

They met at the exact same time, in the same place as the week before—neither of the women dressed in black this time, seemingly more comfortable around each other. In complete silence, they walked into the woods, looking around and making sure that nobody followed them. As they came upon a clearing, they sat down, watching the stars, enjoying the silence and peace surrounding them.

'"Have you met her?" Luna spoke first, hiding excitement behind her cold words.

"No, I haven't. I did go to her parent's house once, she's not there," the human girl felt comfortable around the powerful shifter, both had the same goal and now, she would never hurt her, not before their plan came to the final stage.

"Do the parents have any idea about her whereabouts?" Luna seemed a little distressed, looking around nervously. She felt like someone was watching them yet couldn't catch any scent or noise.

"Yeah, actually they did tell me where she was," the human whispered, for a split second her facial expression resembled pity, a moment later, a victorious smile appeared on her lips.

"So? I don't have time for your bullshit mysteries. Tell me," Luna grew impatient, especially with the paranoid feeling sneaking on her time by time.

"They told me that she returned home safe. Everything seemed to be okay until he came to pick her up. He made her pack her bags and leave; they didn't have any information about where he took her. Her mother told me that they trust him and are sure that he will never hurt her. Eve's father didn't seem to be on the same page, though, he was rather distressed by the way he acted- angry, irritated and aggressive," once again, she smiled, knowing that her "best friend" will suffer. Claudia even hoped that Eve might get killed. That's what that bitch gets for stealing the man she wanted.

"Interesting," Luna breathed out, her eyes stuck on one spot.

"What?" Claudia raised an eyebrow in question, trying her best to follow as to where Luna was looking, more precisely, at what.

"He visited me. I asked for him to visit me," Luna smiled, still looking at the same spot, where the human could notice nothing but pitch darkness.

"And?" The curiosity got the best of her. Claudia wanted to start working on their plan, just in case the current scenario didn’t work out. Both of them needed a backup plan and fast.

"He didn't want to believe me. That is- at first. I saw how his heart broke; I saw how his face changed in an expression of pain and sorrow. He believed me," she smirked and faced the human girl.

"I left the room before he could speak, pretending that it hurt me. He didn't know that I hid behind the corner, waiting for him to leave the office. And, oh boy, did he. He was so angry; I could almost see the steam coming out of his ears. Just two seconds and he had gotten into his car, driving away like a maniac," both started laughing out loud. Whatever was happening between Eros and Eve was nothing close to right at this point. Claudia found herself liking Luna- the woman was plain evil and a perfect partner in crime. Maybe they had a little more in common than she first thought.

"What do we do now?" Claudia whispered, laying down on the cold grass.

"We wait," Luna laid down, next to her, both admiring the beauty of the stars.

"I think we should come up with a backup plan. Eve is a snake; she will find a way with words to trick him. We cannot feel joyful yet. With all due respect, Luna, if we do let our guard down now- later on, none of us will be able to save the situation," she kept staring up, waiting for Luna to speak her mind.

"Alright, let's get back to the packhouse, we shall continue our little conversation in my office. Plus, I'm pretty sure that my mate will be more than willing to help us out. You see, Eros has a lot of enemies, even those he least expects." After standing up, back on her feet, she extended her arm, helping the human girl stand up.
She brushed all the excess grass from her clothing and silently started walking, looking back a couple of times, making sure that the human hadn't tried to run away. The Luna didn't enjoy human company even the slightest, in her eyes, humans were weaker life forms, completely useless. This one though, was more like her than any other wolf. At this point, she would rather spend her days around the little greedy human than around stuck-up wolves. They strolled, like friends who had decided to spend some quality time together. Approaching the packhouse, Luna noticed how many wolves had gathered around, alerted by unusual crowds.

"What in the Hell?" She hissed out the question, all eyes fell on her, one by one they bowed their necks, submitting to the female completely.

"What's happening here?" she yelled.

"I'm sorry, Luna," an elderly woman approached her, taking a bow in front of her.

"What's happening?" Luna's voice softened upon seeing the old lady.

"Nothing much, tonight is a full moon ceremony preparation night. We were waiting for Alpha to join and look over the ideas, if you don't mind." Instead of an answer, Luna nodded her head and commanded them to carry on with whatever they were doing. Even though she was an Alphas mate, the woman never held any interest in pack meetings or essential matters to be discussed. If it wasn't about her, it wasn't important at all. She grabbed Claudia's hand and dragged the weak body behind her, heading straight to the office. As they approached the door, it flew open, and a pissed off Alpha stood in front of them.

"Where the Hell have you been, and why did you shut me out? I've been worried sick. Have you forgotten about the rogue shifter situation out there?" he roared, making the human flinch. Luna stood straight, her head high, unaffected by his harsh words.

"Shut it, get back into the office, we have a more important matter to discuss," she snarled, pushing him into the office, leading the terrified human to the sofa, the same one where Eros had sat. The Alpha eyed both women, leaning against the door frame, his arms crossed in front of his chest.

"Close the door, Xavier," Luna rolled her eyes, unbelievably irritated by the male. He did as told, yet didn't sit down or even step his foot further into the office.

"Alright, I don't have much time," he glanced at the watch on his wrist and sighed. The things he was willing to do for that woman were insane.

"Eros," she growled out his name.

"What has he done this time? I thought he got his human toy and disappeared," Alpha laughed at his own joke. When he noticed that his laugh was the only one, he stopped.

"Nothing. Yet." Only Luna spoke, the human sat dead silent, eyes fixated on her feet.

"Explain," he demanded.

"We have to get rid of the human before they mate. As soon as possible," Luna dropped her body onto the chair dramatically. She did like to overreact, yet this time her feelings and fears weren't just that.

"Listen, you know how much I love you and how much I'd do for you, but can you, please, stop? This obsession of yours had gotten too far. I get it- you hate humans, and you hate your son, he is no threat to the pack or us. Why should we risk and get rid of his mate, if all of us know how bad it could end," he sighed, dropping his head low, slowly massaging his temples. The woman he had chosen to be his Luna, was a powerful and strong one. Unfortunately, she was a little crazy and obsessive sometimes, and it pissed him off. He had tried for years to let go of the feeling, yet now, she was going too far, even for someone as cruel as he is. The human gasped, looking between both of them frantically. She wanted rid of Eve, and now finding out that the male was Luna’s son, not only shocked her but made her think of more ways of how to get rid of her own childhood friend.

"You don't understand," Luna groaned. "The more time they spend together, the more powerful he gets."

"I know, that happens to everyone who claims a mate. I'm a werewolf, love, I do understand how shit works around here," he rolled his eyes, turning around. His hand reached for the door handle, ready to leave. Whatever crazy things she was about to do- this time she was on her own. He was done.

"Don't go, listen," her tone of voice changed from a dominant to miserable one. Alpha couldn't understand what had happened to change her so significantly.

"I have pack members waiting for me outside. Hurry and explain," he didn't turn around to face his mate. All he wanted to do was leave both delusional females alone and avoid getting involved in their crazy plans.

"Eros is not who you think he is," she whispered, finally gaining the Alphas attention.

"Is that so?" Intrigued, he turned around, his gaze meeting hers.

"Yes, he's... He's not exactly what I told you he is. This is kind of hard and complicated to explain. Just know that he is more powerful than you think," she sighed in defeat. For years, she had done everything to hide her child's identity, now feeling a threat to her position, she had to come clean.

"Who is he?" Alpha growled, disappointed in his mate, finally understanding that she had fed him lies for all those years.

"He's..." Luna averted her gaze, fighting the tears. She already forgot the human girl, sitting on the sofa. The human was listening to their conversation, but shifters felt as if they were the only people in the room. Her eyes clouded, a common thing to happen when a shifter used mind-link. Alpha's eyes grew wider; breath stuck in his throat.

"What the fuck you mean? He is?" He gulped loudly, unusually distressed.

"Yes, I'm sorry..."
