**The Promised Princess: Epilogue**

"Darius! Darius, where are you?" A middle-aged woman ran into the old castle, frantically yelling out the rulers' name. She ran through the halls as if the whole place was set on fire, everyone destined to die in unholy suffering. Each shadow, passing her, gave the woman the weirdest, most judgemental looks possible. She yelled out his name again, but the male wouldn't give out where he was, so the woman ran straight to his office. When she opened the door, rudely inviting herself in, the panicked woman didn't meet the ruler. The more time went down the drain in waste- the more she worried if she would ever get a hold of him on time.

A maid passed by the frantic woman, eyeing her suspiciously. "Miss Bethany, are you alright?" The young maid placed a hand on the woman's shoulder, startling her.

"Yes, yes, I'm trying to find Master Wrath; this is a matter of life and death. Do you have any idea where he might be?" The frantic woman grabbed the maid's shoulders and shook the young employee.

"I assume he might be in the great library, King Azra visited him, and they needed some privacy. But Miss, I warn you- the ruler had said that no one could disturb them, under any circumstances. I wouldn't go there- between us, girls, I heard that he fought with his wife early morning, and since then, he keeps letting the anger out on servants. If I were you, I wouldn't get close to the ruler until late evening; by then, he might calm down." The young maid, Maria, was known for love to spread gossip. No one around the castle listened to her or took her words seriously. There was half of the truth in her words- Darius and Ally did argue about some sensitive topics around the morning, but Wrath never let his anger out on his servants because of personal problems. The older woman eyed the maid and shook her head in disbelief.

"Girl, I'm surprised you're still working here. Any other ruler- Fenrir, for example, would make sure that you left the castle headless. Stop spreading rumors, and do the same with your damn legs while you're at that. Going around, talking nonsense behind everyone's back won't grant you a free ticket to the ruler's bed. Everyone around here knows what you are trying to do, better watch your back- if the King is here, so is the Queen. Remember that higher Royals will never take your actions kindly. Do as much as think of ruining her daughter's marriage, and you will have an army, thirsty for your death, on your heels. Now, put that energy into something useful and help in the kitchen. One more word and we're heading to that library together." The older woman crossed her arms in front of her chest, the woman's face turning red in anger. If there was one person the whole staff couldn't tolerate- it was Maria.

The young maid paled, opened her mouth, and instantly closed like a fish. She stormed away, not bothering to look back, afraid that the woman would drag her to the ruler and the King. Both men were too powerful for their own good; many women desired to stand by their side, but... But both of them were too loyal to their woman to ever look at any other.

Without wasting even more time, the older woman rushed towards the library. She felt as if there was no time left, yet the woman couldn't gather the courage to run inside and demand Darius to follow her. The woman stood by the library door, taking deep breaths, gathering the courage to join both men. Unintentionally, she overheard a bit of their conversation.

"I figured it all out; you shouldn't worry. She had no choice but to step down and admit the mistake she had made," it was Darius, his voice, as always, full of power and proudness. The deadly sin had grown into an influential and respected leader during just a couple of months since he took the throne back. Everyone admired and trusted the male, and no one really cared about who or why he was. What mattered was how he led his people and how he made sure that everyone had a place to call home.

"Interesting. Care to share how you managed to do that?" The King spoke up soon enough. The woman didn't mean to listen to the private conversation, but she would lie if she tried to tell someone that it didn't pique interest in her.

"Obviously, I had to face that arrogant bitch first. Let's say we had a friendly discussion without me threatening her to destroy the whole paradise she had created. Selene didn't think when she decided that I would be a toy in her hands- avenging whatever she thought had to be. Centuries pass and this stupid bitch decides to gift me a mate, yet one I was supposed to kill for her. No way in Hell would that happen; even an idiot would understand that I'd rather die than follow that road. It was either she released me from that curse, either she would watch her Kingdom burn down to ashes. She's not as dumb as I thought; made the decision pretty quickly. Now, if she will ever need me- she has to come to me. No more demands or commands; she would beg me to do her a favor. Selene admitted that it's easier to comply with the demands than watching me go berserk. Pretty good outcome, if you ask me." Darius explained details to the King. Both men burst out in laugher, filling the silent room with joy.

"Sounds pretty great to me," Eros chuckled. "I'm glad that the problem is settled and won't disturb our minds later on. Aside from that- the place looks great; asked around to see how you are doing, and I'm impressed. The couple of leaders I know personally had told me nothing but the best so far. It's a pleasant change to see people respecting you because of your ability to lead instead of pure fear." Eros praised the deadly sin. He knew that his daughter was happy around the male, both madly in love, and that was the main reason why the King and Queen gladly accepted Darius. The same went for Sloth, but that lazy creature wouldn't leave their home, so it was quite a different story.

"Thank you; I appreciate the pieces of advice and trust. It's been tricky to get used to this new role, but we're coping. Ally is helping a lot; she's doing a fantastic job, don't think that I could manage even half of the responsibilities without her support. You did a great job there, and for that, I will be forever grateful. Thank you," as Darius spoke, the woman behind the door understood how wildly over the top the maid's words were. Their ruler loved his wife more than he loved his own life- standing up to the Moon Goddess for the sake of her safety was a huge thing to do. Plus, the way Darius kept praising the King's daughter was yet another bright example of the unconditional love he felt for her. Who would have guessed that someone as dangerous and vile as the deadly sin would be capable of such pure feelings?

The older woman sighed and quickly knocked on the door. She didn't want to disturb the leader and his high guest, but she had waited for too long. If she didn't speak up- later on, everyone would have the right to blame her for what he had missed. After all, specifically, she was sent to find the ruler and bring him back. Darius didn't sound delighted about the interruption, but he did invite the woman inside.

"Darius, son, you have to follow me. Now," the older woman ran up to him, grabbing the male's hand and trying to pull him out of the library. She was supposed to be the nanny of their child, and since the woman was older, she referred to Darius and Ally as her children.

"Bethany, calm down, sit if needed. What's going on?" Darius tried his best to keep as calm and collected as he could be despite the sudden wild pounding of his heart. The woman didn't tend to overreact or freak out, yet she faced him completely pale, her hands shaking. There had to be an important reason for the change in her behavior; it couldn't be a little thing like burned dinner or some servants fighting again. The look of pure terror in her eyes scared the deadly sin.

"No, I will explain; we have to rush first. I have to get you there on time before it's too late, please follow me. It's important, please," the woman didn't think of mentioning the important reason; therefore, the deadly sin kept eyeing her in confusion. If only she wouldn't freak out, if only she wouldn't listen to that maid and just ran straight to the leader instead of hiding around.

"Calm down; I have to know what the Hell is going on before I leave the library. I'm in the middle of something important if you haven't noticed. I won't mention the fact that you didn't greet the King; we shall forgive you if the reason for your panic will justify the ignorance." Darius held both of her hands in his, looking straight into the woman's eyes. There was something that scared her, but it wasn't him or the King.

"Forgive my foolishness, your wife, Darius." She cried out, unable to explain more as the male cut her off.

"My wife, what? What's going on with my wife? Tell me!" The deadly sin screamed in her face, the male's face morphing into a creature that could have stepped only out of Hell. His eyes started glowing, meaning only one of two things- the male would destroy everything in his way, or he would skin the whole Kingdom alive to get to Ally. If being overprotective would be an Olympics- Darius would bring the gold medal home daily.

"She's- she's... The labor, Darius. The baby is on its way; we have to hurry!" The woman cried out, scared of the reaction he might have. Ally's pregnancy had been too complicated; she spent most of it on bed rest, and Darius would make sure that she had anything she would need. Often the servants were denied from entering their bedroom even to clean up or help the ruler's wife to have a bath. If there was anything Ally needed- Darius was there. The male even left important meetings with the council countless times because his mate asked the maid to bring her a glass of water. Every maid Ally spoke to instantly had to provide the information to Darius so that he could get her those things. Many kept judging the deader, rumoring about him being a weak man and living under his wife's heel, but he never cared about those words. The well being of Ally and their child was far more important than a couple of words.

"Wait here!" Darius growled out, glancing over his shoulder. Eros grinned in proudness, nodding his head and approaching the woman, helping her to sit down. The deadly sin left the library as if it was on fire- heading straight to the hospital wing.

As soon as Darius got near, he was greeted by medical staff, handing him the clothes he had to wear to get to his wife. The male quickly threw them on and followed the rushed steps of nurses. "It's not a pretty view to see, but she is a very strong woman; she will get through it," one of the nurses tried to reassure Darius that everything would be alright. All of them knew about the fear their leader felt whenever Ally ended back in the hospital.

The male nodded his head and bit the inside of his cheek, trying to appear collected in front of the staff and his mate. One of the nurses opened the door to the maternity hall, and Darius nearly ran inside. His eyes scanned the surroundings; an insane number of medical staff surrounded his mate.

"Grab onto my hand, rip it off if needed, but you have to push!" One of the doctors announced, eyeing the clock in panic.

"Where the Hell is my husband? I need him here," Darius overheard Ally's weak voice and ran towards her. He grabbed her hand and leaned down to kiss her forehead. "I'm here, love. Now, please do as they say and push. You can do it, soon we will meet our little miracle," he whispered in Ally's ear, encouraging her the same as he always did. The words worked, and the Princess instantly pushed her upper body up, leaning against her mate and clenching her jaw. Ally screamed out each attempt to push- the torturous pain, exhaustion, and fear finally paid off. She overheard the cry of a baby and instantly fell back into the pillows. She tried to regain her breath while Darius wouldn't stop kissing her face, mumbling millions of grateful words for giving him a child.

Within a few minutes, one of the nurses approached the happy couple, holding what seemed a neatly folded blanket on her arms. "Would the lucky parents like to meet their son?" She asked a wide smile all over her lips.

Suddenly, Ally forgot the pain she felt; a new wave of energy washed over her as she extended her arms, waiting for the nurse to give her the child. Darius stood by her side, grinning like a maniac, excited to see their son.
The nurse helped Ally and explained how the young mother would correctly hold the child and support its head. The Princess carefully followed her instructions and cried out in happiness as soon as her eyes landed on the small face. Their son slept on her arms as if he had reached the ultimate feeling of bliss.

"Do you still want to give him that stupid name? I think he's too pretty for that," Ally frowned, averting her gaze from the small miracle and glaring at her mate. Darius shook his head, hypnotized by the little bundle of joy on her arms. "Okay, that's good. Do you have any other ideas? We should come up with a name, but I'm not sure what he looks like. Mom said that it should be easy, usually, you know as soon as you see your child for the first time, but I'm stuck." Ally bit onto her lip, once again giving her full attention to her son.

"Noah."
