Chapter 24 Hollow island 2: hollow hearts

CYNTHIA MAXIMILLIAN P.O.V
I look at him and he seems to be serious about what he said. I am about to open the door when he held my wrist then to my palm.
"W-what's wrong with y-you? You are acting strange again!"-I said. I bend back until I fall down the floor. He cornered me by putting his hands on my side then his knee over me. 'No! Don't be ridiculous Cynthia! Control yourself, don't be naive.'
"Let me see it myself. Maybe we can lure them off or find a way on how they do their abduction. What are they going to do with them and so on so forth."
"Sshh."-he said. He put his palm on my mouth. He seemed to be disturbed by something. We both saw some shadows of people in that small hole.
"We'd better have that woman either. The inn owner said that there are couple who just came in."
"Stop talking aloud. Someone might hear us. Let's plan what we need to do."-another man said.
"That's exactly we need to do something to draw them apart. That man should go in a certain place and we can abduct that woman later on."
"Good point. Let's plan for that then."-the other one. I gulped and stared on him. I think he makes sure that they left already before he let go of me.
"Are they referring to me?"-I asked. He sighed and sat down. He pined his back on the wall and massaged his forehead between his nose line and eyebrows.
"I'm sorry for asking such an absurd question. Lay down here, I will massage your forehead. You must be tired by doing your job as the king."-I said. I tapped the floor and waited for him to lay down. I pouted. I decided to go beside him and pinned my back on the floor. I guess I have to stay awake all night to be vigilant. I don't want to be abducted by some men.
"Huh?"-I said. He suddenly laid down on my lap and closed his eyes and even crossed him arms. I know what it means and I started massaging his forehead.
"Ulysses, can you tell me if you find me bothering or a bit...disgusting?"-I asked. He turned around and faced my stomach and even placed his hand on the same level of his face. I gulped. I can feel his breathing.
"Why are you asking such a silly and stupid question?"-he asked. I pouted and decided not to ask any more question to him. After all, I knew the answer anyway. It's been half an hour and I can tell that he is sleeping soundly. His eyelashes is long, wicked nose and reddish dark lips. I caress his features and I can't help myself not to like him.
"One day, I will leave permanently. One day, I can't see you again. Why do I feel sad by thinking about it?"
I knew this is wrong but all I wanted is to...let myself do what I want while I still can. I kissed him in his forehead. After that, I transported him in the bed. I looked at him as I pulled the quilt. 'I have to investigate what is happening. I'm sorry, Ulysses.' I left our room and tried to use insects to find any suspicious room or places in this inn. I used invisibility spell to room around without being notice while sitting and floating in air.
"That's the inn owner..."-I mumbled. I followed her as she kept looking around and even checking the room. There is something wrong with that woman.
"Boss, I already do what you said."-he said. A man approached her. He has the same voice as the man we heard talking about us, a while ago. She smiled.
"Good. Remember that the village leader needs five women. You have to act about the last guest who entered the inn today. Good thing that we attracted visitors who want to see that island from the port."
"Good thing, boss. But how about the new comers? You said they are couple, isn't it? How can we abduct that girl? His woman is good-looking. He has a great shape of face, green eyes and even reddish brown hair. She—can make men drop their saliva because of her beauty."-he said. I gulped. That's creepy! Then he described me and all, I felt like he wanted to abduct me and rape me. It gave me chill all over my body. Creepy madman!
"Don't touch that woman. Just get her and we have to complete the women being sacrificed and that way, we can destroy that curse.".
"Okay boss. You always say that, anyway."-he said.
"Let's go to my office, let's plan for the abduction of that woman.". I sighed, but if that is my way to go in that island and to make sure that I'll save those women. I slowly went back in our room. I have a way to hide that box. I tried to read book that might help me to know what kind of island that is.
"Here it is. Good thing that mother has the list of her bloodline. Let me see..."-I mumbled. That island is where great-great grandpa and grandma met. That is also the island where...the villagers traitored them and killed both of them?! 'Is that the reason why my great grandpa didn't get the chance to be with them? Every being will traitor nor betray you. What if someone from the people I love will do that to me either...?' My goodness. After that, grandma cast a spell and curse that island. The curse is about a mist of dreams. Only a pure heart that had the courage, and not to dwell in the life that the dream offers will break the spell. I see...The curse brings great calamities like tornados, heavy rains that cost floods.
ULYSSES ALEXANDERS P.O.V
When I open my eyes, she is still sleeping. I sigh, her thighs are widely open. Her shirt is lifted up that almost expose her chest. The quilt is on her side.
"What a messy sleeper."
"No...don't leave me. No!"-she shouted. Is she dreaming or acting. Suddenly tears fell in her cheeks and she changed her position. She is hugging her knees and she is trembling.
"No! Someone...please save me. I am afraid here. I am afraid here. Why are you doing this to me, father? I am also your daughter...hmp, hmp."-she sobbed. She must be dreaming about her experience in the dungeon as her father put her in that place. I caressed her hair and then held her hand.
"It's okay. It's okay. You are safe now. You can wake up now, Cynthia."-I said. She stopped trembling and I could tell that she slept normally now. When she waked up, she didn't ask breakfast from the inn. She told me about her plan.
"They have to capture me. I will complete their group that will be send in that island. All you have to do is to wait on the sea and watch over. I think I have a connection to that island. Only I can lift the curse and I want you to know who is the person who make the people believe that young women is needed to be sacrificed."-she said.
"Are you sure that's the only way? Or should I say you even have the—"
"Guts? Courage? I don't have but I have to do something and that's already enough for me."
"Okay. If that's your plan then so be it."
"Thanks."-she said. We went outside and talked to the inn owner happily. She was smiling as if she had no ill intention against us.
"We will roam around for the meantime. Also, we will add the days of our stay. I think there are amusing things that can be seen here in hollow island."-I said. She smiled and answered.
"Of course. So many things. Enjoy."-she said. After we left that place and she slowly disappeared in the crowd. I can still feel her because of my mark. 'You should be safe, Cynthia.' I used the talisman to teleport myself. Good thing Pricilla gave this to me. A few hours later, I saw a boat from the mainland village. I can tell that women is on the boat. I can smell her scent from here. When they reached the shore. After they left the women in the shore, they left the island as soon as they can. Cynthia was still sleeping while the other women started to open their eyes. They looked around. They roamed around.
"Help! Help!"-they shouted. They started to cry.
"Did you know that beside from being the hollow island of blue mist. That island is known as the dream island. A place where your desires will be your graveyard."-a man said. He is a half breed. Which is a son of a human and a witch.
"And I have a feeling that someone had already fall in that dream. This will be very interesting. Do you want to come along?"-he said. I just followed him and we easily got inside the island. The other women started to fall down and they went back to sleep again. That man touched their head and a mirror floated. We can see what they are dreaming of. My eyes widened when I saw her dream. 'What the heck. Is that me and...Cynthia?' She smiled on him and kissed him, my version in her mind.
"Thank you. Uhm! Before I forgot. I made you a present. I know that you took the first step to amends with Yael."-she said. My jaw tightens. Of all the things she'll dream, why Yael and me are there?
"No problem. Thanks, but did you forget that I am a wolf? I have a body heat that can withstand cold."
"I know. I just knew it will look good to you."
"Okay then, I will be wearing this first in our wedding ceremony next morning."-I said.
"Okay. Good idea. Before I forgot, have you talk to Estella? I already talk to the elders."-she asked.
"I already told you that I'll take care of that isn't it?"
I look on the window but I also saw how my face changed, it became a smoke smirking devilishly.
"Thank you, for staying. I know that you love Estella. I will do my best so that you will like me one of these days."-she said. She was smiling truly. He petted het hair and my version in her dream smiled.
"Hmm...she is a witch? That is you? What a surprised."-he said. I can't move anymore as he cast a spell on me but I didn't look away.
"Of course I knew you will. I will try to look at you the way you want me to. Just stay here..."-he mumbled in her ear. His face turned to smoke again. She held his face and looked at him happily.
"Uhm. I will never leave you, my mate."-she said. They kissed. My jaw tightened. 'What kind of silly witch you are! It's obvious that it isn't me! Wake up you silly witch! I am here, don't stay in that dream!'
"She must have like you that much so she didn't even realize that she's in a dream. What a poor witch. That's why women witches can be easily fooled by men like of you."-he said. A pain of a thousand knives strikes in my body.
"Aaaggghhhh!"-I shouted.
"Once they have their wedding ceremony, she will fall in everlasting dream. What would you do, hmm?"
