Chapter 70: Seven years ago

VINCENT RUSSO POV
I wanted to knock on her room but maybe she is tired from the things she did outside our region. I was about to sleep when a loud knock on my door stops me. I opened it. It was Pricilla.
"Pricilla? Why are you knocking loudly?"
"Why did you hide that from me, Vincent?!"
I look at her confused. What is she talking about?
"Let's talk about your concern inside."
"Better."-she said and get inside my room. I face her and suddenly embraces me. A while ago she's mad and now she's hugging me? Girls are hard to read.
"Are you hear to scold me or because you misses me as much as I do?"-I ask. She look at me and she caresses my cheeks. This is weird. At all aspect!
"Pricilla, just scold me if you wanted to rather than hanging me in the air. It's creeping me out. I don't how to play charades, okay?"-I said.
"Cynthia told me that when she meet you again after her witch blood awaken, she knew that you are cursed. She didn't tell me what kind of curse that's why I wanted to know about it."-she said. I smiled and caress her cheeks. I even kiss her forehead.
"It's nothing. I thought it will be a lethal but as time goes by, I didn't find it harmful."
"Then what is it? Your now the one that left me hanging in the air."-she said. I laugh.
"The innocent witch that I killed from my last mission as a slayer put a curse on me. It's slave curse. She said that I will never have a higher rank or be a leader. In my entire life I'll be a slave. I thought it's a bad luck for me but since the day that I became your cousin's assistant and adviser, he never made me feel like a slave."
"Maybe we can ask Cynthia to erase your curse."
"It's fine. It never hinders me anyway. I am happy to my position in this kingdom. What I'm grateful is that she didn't curse me to be single in my entire life. I am happy that I have you."-I said.
"Uhm! I forgot to bring the gift I bought for you. Let me get it."-she said. Before she can even take another step. I grab her hand and kiss her as soon as I turn her around. She moans but she kiss me back. Her hands wrap around my neck.
"I love you, duchess of Skyfall."
"Me too. I love you too, Vincent."-she said.
"Let's get married."-I said. She look at me.
"Huh? Are you proposing to me?"
"Yes. I will ask his majesty's blessing and we can have a double wedding with Chenqian and Marko."
"Uhm. I agree."-she said. We both smile.
ULYSSES ALEXANDERS POV
Ezeron has seated on the chair and join me from drinking my coffee. He is softer than I thought. He even shows patience in Daisy's mistakes during their training. I put down my cup and speak.
"Are you having a hard time teaching little Daisy?"
"There are times that she is struggling and I have to be patient but she never slack in her training. She can cast basic spell now and that is good news. She can protect herself a little by now."-he said.
"You're doing well actually. I keep my eyes on you and Ezrene. I saw that you are good in teaching. Maybe you can build a school where the two of you can teach young witches."-I said.
"For now, we wanted to enjoy this peace that my big sister and I had. It's been ages since we found peace and a warm home like this. That's why I wanted to be strong on things I'm capable off."
"It looks like Maximillian's are strong, clever and brave. All of you values family and home."-I said.
"Maybe because our ancestors are the originals and pureblooded witches. We have to face criticism and be clever enough in choosing the path that we should walk through."-he said.
"I knew the truth about the Maximillian's. They are caught by what the Bernardo's actions. Your family are servants by the Bernardo's. When they cross the taboo, all the people in their mansion became witches like them. The Bernardo's and Maximillian's are the first witches. Your family chooses to leave and never uses the power and abilities they acquired. Bernardo's crave for more and that's how they created monster like us and vampires."
"I always wonder if human's greed had never gone that far, maybe all of us are human's and experience a normal lives. We experience hardships but we will never give up. If I am not a witch, I should've died 30 years ago."-he said. That made me smiled.
"All of us should have died for decades ago. It's not true that eternal life is a blessing. Especially that we live in this kind of world. Full of evil deeds, greediness and selfish acts. I also wanted to see a world that peace are true and no one will ever dare to cross the lines."-I said.
"Peace...huh?"-he mumbled.
"And good conversation deserve some treats. I mean its just a bread and peanut butter."
"Don't tell me your standing there for a long time already?"-I ask. She just shrug her shoulder.
"I don't know..."-she said. But her smile tells us that she did stood right there from the start.
"There is peace if everyone respects each other."
ALEXA RILES POV
I look around and find the clue that I needed. This place seems to be abandoned for ages. I wonder what kind of things they hide on this barn.
"I wonder why the queen visits my farm."
"I do feel the same. All of a sudden the puzzles falls down to their right places. I wonder why the Duke Ross loves to play hide and seek."
"Hide and seek? I didn't even play that game. Your highness, tell me...are you enjoying your rebirth?"
"Ohh? Duke Ross, you know the answer yourself."
"Ah, why do I even ask. The question is, why did you ransack my farm, queen of Dusk."
"For the past decades I wonder why the Ross's seems to have a single descendant. A boy who exactly the same as his father but only inherited the eye color of his mother. Now I know the answer."
"Do you have a problem with that? You're a witch yourself, your highness."-he said. I smirk.
"It should be. But...you are one of the traitors that we are looking for. Someone that should leave my kingdom and return to their bosses. That's how dogs should do, isn't it?"
"Dogs? Hah. But this dog know how to bite!"
He threw different things on me. My eyes turns white and I created barrier to protect me.
"You should know that traitors pays the biggest price."-I said. I stretch my right hand and turn his barn into pieces and use it as a weapon. All he can do is to step back and create a barrier. I continued to turn the woods into sharp weapons.
"You should've help Salvador in abducting Dusk people for their damn experiments. I don't forgive and forget easily, Duke Ross. I hate traitors like yours."-I said. I surrounded him with the weapons and attack him all at once. I used the water from the lake and turn them into blades.
"Aghhhhh!"-he shouted. When I raise my hand, he is inside the ball of water as he bleeds a lot. I can even tell that he is having a hard time breathing.
"S-pare my life. I-I only follow orders."
I snap my finger and the ball of water disappears. I didn't kill him, I only send him to the dungeon that I prepared. I will get all the details that I wanted to know. I can tell that he can sing many tunes. Tunes that we needed. I disappeared and went home.
"Did he tell what you wanted to know?"
"Kind off."-I said. He faces me and he is holding a mirror. My eyes widened when I saw the wreck barn that owned by Duke Ross. I look at him.
"Who the hell are you?"-I ask. I suddenly doubt if I even know him. What is going on here?
ESTELLA HOLSEN POV
I look at my reflection in the mirror. I have to make sure that I'm the prettiest for the banquet that Ulysses hold for tonight. He prepared this because he rarely hold a party for his officials and noble families in his kingdom.
"What are you doing here?"-I said.
"I just wanted to warn you. I won't keep my mouth shut if you create another chaos on Ulysses' party. I am giving you a warning."
"Don't act as if you're the wife. Your just the unwanted mate that he pick for a certain reason."
"I know. I am just his mate for convenience but I am doing my job properly. I didn't give him problems as much as you do. I wonder what kind of trouble do you wish to do."-she said. I smirk.
"That depends on my mood and the irritation that you bring on me, damn witch."-I said.
"We hate each other because both of us wanted the same spot. That is to became the only Luna for Ulysses. I told you that I will compete for that place no matter what happens. I'll make sure that I will win, Estella."-she said. I laugh and face her.
"You didn't know me, Maximillian. I am the kind of woman that you shouldn't messed up."
"What? Your going to transform into a wolf and torn me into pieces? I am a new born witch and I am not even close my mother's legacy but let me remind you, Estella. There are things that won't stay in the dark. I am waiting for the right time and this woman? Will messed you up. Behave yourself or else you will know the superiority that you should follow."-she said. My jaw tightened and I punch the wall as soon as she disappears.
"That woman. She's getting into my nerves already."
I tried to compose myself and suddenly the mirror shows signs that my mother will appear soon.
"Estella, I have to remind you that—"
"Will you shut up?! You also add my stressed day! I know what to do and just sit and wait!"
"You! How dare you screaming at your own mother! What kind of daughter are you?!"-she said.
"A daughter that serves as your pet! Are you happy now? Let me just enjoy and bring the news that you wanted just keep your mouth shut!"-I screamed.
"For once, do your job properly and bring some good news. I don't need failures from you!"
"You said it! At last! I'm just your failure!"
"Don't scream at me. I am just telling the truth and don't give me that face, Estella."-she said.
"Yes. I have to show respect. I have to bow down to the one and only queen of Dawn."-I said in sarcasm.
