Chapter 65 Behind the mist

MIRANDA PLAINS POV
I look around. This mountain became misty for some reason. As I wall deeper and higher in this mountain, I notice the heavy aura that is being hide behind. I wonder why this place seems so lonely and dark. I have never been in this mountain even of we live in that village. The officials didn t want us to go here even if we only wanted to pick dry woods.
"Miranda…"-he said. I look around. I saw a silhouette. It s my husband?! No! I shouldn t be blinded. I walk further and pass through him.
"Disappear."-I mumbled. The shadow disappeared. I know I have to be strong and focus on the reason why I am here. I keep on walking until I saw the bones of humans that Cynthia talks about.
"How ruthless. Good thing that your daughter awaken king Daniel, you will put Cendrea s kingdom into chaos. Your just an evil king."-I said.
I raise my hand and my eyes turns white. I started assembling the bones. I will give them a proper burial. How can those merciless officials…why am I thinking of that. They re just selfish cowards. Good thing that my power is back now. Its easier to bury this 115 bodies. My eye widened on the last bones on the pit. Tears fall down my eyes.
"My husband…how can you be so pitiful? Why did they do this to you?!"-I shouted. My vision blur out as tears never stops from falling.
"Let s go home. Our children and I will give you a proper burial."-I said. I finish burying the other bodies. I decided to go back on that village first.
"Did you see that? They just drag that homeless body. She will be one of those who never had any proper burial. If we can only voice out ourselves. But if we do…I wonder what kind of kingdom ours now. So many things had changed."-he said.
"I also wish that queen Cendrea is still alive."
I decided to find where that woman is, until I saw some soldiers that is dragging a heavy sack. I froze them up and they re surprised to see me. I just twist their neck and that kills them. I left a note. I took the body and bury her properly.
"I hope one day your child can come back and visits your grave even if you didn t know it anymore."
I left this place and went home. My children look at me. I smiled and hug them. It s been three days since I left the castle. They look at me.
"Mother…did you found father s remains?"-Daisy.
"Yes. Let s bury him together."-I said. I showed them their father s bones. They starts sobbing.
"Let s give him a proper burial then."-Cynthia.
MARKO RANDAL POV
I tried to focus on giving commands on my soldiers training but I can t. I am too worried about Chenqian. I still remember what happened in Dusk village. She is the only person who cheerfully approach me the first she meet me. She became the sun that gives warmth and smile on me.
"I hope that the four of you are not in trouble up until now. Please be home as soon as possible."
"Commander? Are you talking to me?"
"No. I said bring the wines here and we will all booze for tonight. I know everyone is doing their best to be strong."-I said. He nodded and leave. After eating dinner we all drink until midnight.
"The wine finally dizzies me off. I better go to bed."
As soon as I lay down the bed. I feel asleep…
"Do you want me to slaughter this whole village, Susana?"-I ask. She gave me a death glare.
"You know that I was the one who raise you. Just follow my order if you wanted to live."-she said. I can feel the pain my chest. I can t breath.
"I u-understand."-I said. She smirk. She left me and I have no choice but to attack this village. Like what I did to the several village that I also slaughtered.
"Please! Spare us! Don t kill us!"-she said. My thick and long nails killed them all at once.
"Aahhh!"-a woman shouted. I used my speed and grab her neck. I held it tighter until she can t breath anymore. I started to set a fire in their houses. Later on, all I can see is smoke, ashes, fire and the reeking fragrance of their blood. It made me sick.
"Good job, Marko…Ahahahaha!"-she laugh. Then all of a sudden, the two of us are like statues.
"Do you enjoyed using an innocent werewolf for your killing spree, Susana?"-she said. Sana seems to be afraid to her. She can t even use her magic.
"C-Cendrea?! What are you doing here?"
"Catching the culprit. I can t believe you even use a child for your evil desires. You should know what those victims felt as they are asking for help!"
Susana is being flown to the fire and she screams. The fire went stronger and she died. She look at me.
"You. You wanted to atone your sin?"-she ask.
"I can atone them if you kill me either."-I said.
"Just live. Try to save as much lives as you can. I know who can help you. I only ask one thing kid. Be a werewolf who protects the innocents. Deal?"
I can now move. When I held her hand. I can feel warmth and hope. Can I really atone my sins?
"Commander, the king is here. Wake up."
I slowly open my eyes. A dream…the reason why I became Skyfall s soldier. I smiled.
YASMIN EDROS-YURIN POV
I still remember how we find this little boy. He is a vampire. We use a talisman to bind him and make sure he won t cause any problem. Today is the fourth day. This last mountain is full of mist than the other ones. But it didn t stink and we can t smell any dead body or blood in this place.
"I said let me go! Release me!"-he said.
"Not until we leave this place. You saw us, we can t compromise our lives, little vampire."-I said.
"The council will surely killed any of you because you are trespassing in these forbidden places in this region. They will all kill you!"-he said.
"He loves to talk back. I wanted to kick him even just once."-Ildrich. I give him a death glare.
"Let s all just be patient with this kids tantrums. He might just afraid or…worried."-I said. He frowned.
"Worried? Afraid? You stupid wolf, don t—ump!"
Chenqian put a cloth in his mouth. She just shrug her shoulder. All what we notice in every mountains is one thing. They are like landfills and mists are hiding it. What could be the reason behind these mists? And why does these mountain became like a garbage place for this region?
"Did you notice that they just make the mountains here like their trash bin?"-I ask. They nodded.
"Yes. Mostly, I can smell humans blood on these mountains. I only smell a small amount of blood from wolves and vampires. That only means…"
"We are at the right region."-Ildrich.
"We should continue then. Who knows? We might find the things that we are looking for."-Chenqian.
"Let s make sure of that."-I said.
But night has fallen and we left the last mountain but we didn t find any clues. Ildrich and Rita had catch a deer and we are roasting them now. We even put the blood on a cup and Chenqian feed the little vampire that we have with us.
"Hey stop right there!"-Chenqian shouted. She and her drawings captured the vampire kid that we saw.
"Are you following us, little vampire?!"-Ildrich.
He didn t answer that time. So we drag him with us. I even give him a barbeque from the deer s meat.
"Eat and we still have a long journey to do."
"Thank you."-he said. He eat silently and we are thankful for that. At least for once he behave.
"What is your name?"-I ask. He drink the water. Rita and Chenqian is feeding him. We didn t untie him.
"Gavin Freud."-he said. We nodded.
"Are you trying to follow us yesterday, Gavin?"
"Yes. I notice that you are not residents here. I hope that all of you are not evil."-he said. We look at him.
THIRD PERSON S POV
I look at the crystal and stare on her face. She is still that innocent and beautiful woman that I love for over a century. I smiled sadly. I touch the crystal.
"Anytime soon I will cancel the sealing spell of this coffin of yours, my love. Just wait for the meantime and we will be able to meet our child soon. She became a strong and kind child. I knew you will be happy to see her like that. She became the woman that you wish for her."-I mumbled.
"Commander, we have a visitor. She wants to meet you in the receiving hall."-he said.
"Tell her to wait for the meantime."-I said.
"Understood commander."-he said. I look at her once more. I went to the receiving hall. How did she know this place? Did she know the truth from the start? She look at me with a calming expression.
"Just like what I thought."-she said. I sat down.
"What do you want?"-I ask. She take a deep sigh.
"It s been ages. I just wanted to know how far did my husband tell to you. Let s be honest."-she said.
"He told me how my foe turned her child into a monster. Even the truth about her…you know what I mean. Even the blue moon war saga and the sinister acts of Salvador. As well as the fact that we might be facing an formidable enemy. He told me everything that I need to know."-I said. She sip her tea.
"Aren t you afraid that we put poison on that?"
"I know you since I was 79. You won t kill me. We all need each other for the war that we are trying to win. Let s face the reality. If we wanted to win this game, we should never hide our cards to each other."
"And your telling me that…?"-I ask.
"I don t know how you survive and came back to life. But I know that among the two of us, we wanted to hold the peace that she wanted. So let s not be enemies and I hope that like me, we will strengthen our own armies so that we can protect what we should shield. Nonetheless, I am happy to see you alive after I believe that you died all these years."
"It s a tough one but I tried to hide as much as possible even if I sacrificed my happiness. That s how much I wanted to protect her smile."
"But it fades away when you died. She thought she found one but she never smiled the way she smile when she look at you. She never been that happy when she is with you. It s just a fleeting lies of happiness. I wish she can see you again."
"I wish the same thing. For now, I will be a part of the beings that will be there in building the true peace that she wishes."-I said.
"The question is…are you ready to face her?"
