Chapter 51 Philip’s ambition
RACHEL WOODS POV
After recognizing the presence of a witch and humans in this castle, I open the entrance. They are staring at me.
"My duchess, of course, you're familiar with her. Come sit next to me. Let's see if the next council leader's suggestion is a quiet fun or a waste of time,"-he said. I took a seat and kept an eye on them. They stink of the blood of their victims. It became boring to me.
"Well, it's simple. An alliance between us and your kingdom against the Skyfall."
"Ohh? The council seemed to be worried by that powerful pureblood witch. That's why you wanted my power on your side. A little bit clever,"-he said. My jaw tightened, and I took the chance to speak.
"Do you think we'll side with the council after what the slayers did to Gem Village? Is this some sort of joke? "-I remarked sarcastically. He burst out laughing.
"Duchess Woods, you live up to your name. You have a quick wit. That's appropriate for a woman, in my opinion. That is correct, and we are not responsible for the attack. The mindset of our slayers was not shared by Council. We have no clue about Hindrick's group movements or plans. I'm here to make amends."
"Ohh? Very nice play. I'd rather die than support the council. You guys smell more like blood than the werewolves and vampires. It's disgusting. If you can persuade him, I'm out of here."-I said as I exited the room. That man, Philip West. I can see he's ambitious, and it bothers me. 'I should look into that witch's background as well. She is a silent evil.'
When King Nathan walks into my office, I'm enjoying my coffee and watching the snow fall. I didn't even bother looking at him until he was standing next to me.
"You genuinely despise that human's guts,"-he remarked.
"He stinks of blood. He's covered in evil. I despise his mere presence,"-I murmured, taking another sip. He heaves a sigh. I can tell that he have some doubts either.
"What about me? Do you despise me? "-he inquires.
"That silly potion has bound my heart. I can't even try to hate you."-I said. But somehow it feels like I lied.
"Don't be concerned; you know which side I'll always be on. Cynthia has a gleam in her eyes that I can see. I felt I could trust her with the peaceful future that we all desired,"-he stated. I made an effort to hide the pain on my face. Damn that potion! 'Is this the agony of jealousy?!'
"I wish you could be jealous because you don't drink that potion. Maybe I should've tormented that scumbag first before killing him so quickly."
"What? Do not begin with me, King Nathan. I'm too exhausted for your tic-tac-toe game. Please leave me alone. I don t want to play your game, okay?"
"Would you believe me if I told you that you are the reason I haven't married yet?"-Nathan. What the hell is he talking about? He is confusing me!
ULYSSES ALEXANDERS POV
I looked at her and forced her to meet my gaze. I'd better persuade her before Pricilla does what she suggested.
"All right, let's go to your house. Estella, could you please? I'm too tired for this,"-I explained. She nods and sighs. I teleport us using a talisman. I dragged her to bed and attempted to cuddle her without revealing how disgusted I feel. I speak as I tap her shoulder.
"I'm not sure what made you think of doing those things, but will you stop now? Pricilla has been nagging me more recently. And it was too long, as always."
"Then kick her out of this area,"-she added. Damn you!
"No. I'm afraid not. She's doing an excellent job, and I rely on her anytime I'm sick of those papers. Everyone likes her, and she's a good great strategist. She can fix problems as if they were nothing."-I said. She sneers.
"I'm capable of doing that. I'll be better than her,"-she promised. As if I will let you ruined us more. No way!
"Really? What do you mean, you're a witch? "-I told her I was going to tease her. But then I noticed that brief flash of confirmation. 'Don't tell me you're a witch?!' she laughs and hides her face from me. 'Estella, what do you want from me? What exactly are you?!' I smiled.
"It's a joke. You are unmistakably a wolf. That's something I've seen a lot. Just try to keep your cool and get along with Pricilla. Who can say? You can have her as a friend or an ally,"-I said. She smiled and nodded.
"Okay. If that's what you want,"-she said. I give her a flick.
"That s my girl. Now, go to bed,"-I urged. She closed her eyes and nodded. When I realized she was sleeping. I got out of bed and headed downstairs. I was about to leave when I noticed something in the trash. It glows when the moonlight shines on it. I went there and found a crystal. What kind of crystal is this? I put it in my pocket and walk away.
"Greetings to the three elders,"-I said, bowing. This will be my first visit to them once the love potion curse has been lifted. They kept playing a card game and signaled for me to take a seat.
"It appears that your love curse has already been lifted, king of werewolves. It has been bound you for almost 7 years."-elder Ruben. My pupils dilated.
"Have you been aware of that since then?"-I exclaimed.
"Do you think we're that stupid, your Majesty? We've rejected Estella for this reason, not because we want you to uncover the witch in our prophecy. We can ask other alphas, such as your best friend, for that job."-Tony, the elder. Elder Allan broke a smile.
"We chose you not because you are the king, but because we believe that pure love will break the curse. You must have gone through a lot of emotional ups and downs since you met, princess Cynthia. Is that correct, your Majesty? "-elder Allan. I flashed a smile.
"Thank you very much, elders. I will always owe you a good deal. I assumed you were also contradicting me, similar to way Yael turned his back on me. Because, in my opinion, he did. I almost lost my best friend, forever."
"Well, King Ulysses, welcome back. But I guess you're not here for that."-elder Tony.
"Yes. I'm here because I'm curious if you three have any idea why Estella chose me to be her puppet. Is this about my position as werewolf king?"-I ask. They are facing me and have crossed their legs. Elder Ruben takes the floor first.
"Exactly, Jillian had forewarned us about a vision Glaiza had 25 years ago. It's about a Skyfall werewolf and a witch who will have the strongest pack that can survive any perils on their feet. But that is all she sees. In order to find who among the alpha s from the Skyfall kingdom they send someone to spy on us."
"I suppose now that we have some of the puzzle pieces, we can easily identify who the spy may be. As a starting point, we told you about it. We merely didn't realize that your curse had already been removed. I suppose you have someone in mind,"-elder Allan.
"Come to think of it, Estella has been trying for years to enter and discover a specific book in the castle library. But she can't seem to find that book,"-I said.
"Because she didn't realize we have that book. She must be on the lookout for the prophesy book. Now that things are clearer for you, you have the ability to dominate the game."-elder Tony As my eyes turned yellow, I stood up to show them my seriousness. I gave them a kind grin.
"Please continue to guide me. I promise to do what is best for this region,"-I stated. They all smiled.
"It's not a problem, king Ulysses,"-elder Ruben.
"That is our responsibility. To lead a smart and powerful ruler of this region. We shall always be on your three sides, your majesty."-elder Allan
"Thank you,"-I said. But, in the end, they take me in and force me to play cards with them for a few games before letting me leave. When I returned to the castle, it was nearly daybreak. She's peacefully asleep in my bed. She would have been waiting for me. She looks at me with her eyes open. She cracked a grin.
"Welcome back,"-she said. I flashed a smile.
"I'm home, sleepy head,"-I said. She dragged me down and rested her head against my chest. I stroked her hair.
"Are you mad? "-I ask. She shook her head.
"NO. I am aware of the problem. In any case, I knew who you wanted to caress, embrace, and kiss."
"You're bragging now, hmm?"-I replied, a little sarcastically. She giggled and turned to face me.
"Yes. "You're something to brag about, my stingy alpha."
YAEL YURIN POV
When we chose to leave this morning, we were meant to go to the castle. However, in the end, we proceeded to the elders manor. We bow.
"You also left your stamp on your chosen girlfriend, Yael,"-elder Tony. I smiled and took Yasmin's hand in mine. The elder laughs as she blushes.
"Kids nowadays are more shameless."-elder Tony.
"Exactly. Like the king."-Elder Ruben.
"We've come because we have a hunch that Dawn, Magus, and the Southeast area are involved in some nefarious activity,"-I explained. They both sigh.
"I think the false peace that we've been experiencing for the past decades is now completely shattered. Yael, the king had a lot of faith in you. He actually came last night to inform us about his intentions, and you're a part of it."
"Now that he's been released from the curse, everything is in order. I suppose true love aids him in diminishing the effects of that love potion,"-I said. They both nodded.
"Just keep assisting the king. We'll wait for the youngsters to finish the task. We will be there when it is truly necessary. In any case, congratulations."-elder Allan
"Thank you very much, elder Allan. As part of our customs, we come here to seek the blessings of the elders."-Yasmin. They smiled upon hearing that.
"When that comes to this, we're not too strict. As long as the children are content, go forth and multiply. You don't have to be concerned about it. Give us a lot of wolf cubs, okay?"-elder Ruben. She blushes.
"Leave that to me, elders,"-I said, winking. They all laughed, and we said our goodbyes and headed to the castle. The kids and the tiger are playing in the garden as usual. We are greeted the children.
"As usual, welcome, alpha Yael and big sis Yasmin."
"Thank you, Daisy. "Here's the chocolate I promised you."
"Once again, you people are indulging the kids."-Miranda
"Because they're such tiny sweethearts, Miranda. What happened to the gang? "-Yasmin asks. Marko and Chenqian arrive.
"You two are inseparable now,"-I teased.
"I'd better keep an eye on her and protect her, Yael. What is the reason for the unexpected visit? Is there an issue?"-Marko.
"It's not that huge, but I still wanted to tell Ulysses,"-I explained. The others appear as well.
"Good morning, everyone!"-we chorus. We re all smiling.
"And what kind of issue is that?"-Cynthia.
"Rita was in danger after a witch attempted to control her with a worm. Ildrich was also harmed by her. I believe a witch is out somewhere causing chaos."
"Exactly like what they've done to you, Chenqian."
"If that s the case, is it Karen? Phillip's henchman? What exactly is she doing here? That lady!"-Marko.
"I don't believe so. I wasn't aware of her presence."
"If you're correct, Cynthia? Who is that? Is there a new villain that we need to investigate? Oh come on!"
