Chapter 28 Marry the princess
GEORGE QUINN POV
I look at my guards, who are surprised that I invited him. He looks at me, looks surprised?
"Wedding? I mean to crown princess?"-he asked
"Yes. Is that a big surprised?"-I asked. He nodded.
"Yes! You just defended and tried to find a way to reintroduce princess Cynthia into the kingdom, and now you're marrying crown princess Gabrielle? I mean—well, never mind. Just disregard what I said."
"All right, Gabrielle—I mean, the princess is correct. Cynthia is similar to her mother. Maybe I'm blinded by her seduces? Anyway, I'm hoping to see you this Saturday for my wedding."-I said. He just nodded.
"Of course, commander. I will be there with my wife."-he said. I cracked a grin. Some appear surprised, but Gabrielle was correct. Cynthia should have returned to me if she truly loved me as she claimed. But she went with that stupid beast. I despise her now.
(Author: Little did he know, his eyes glowed in reddish pink due to the love potion that makes him love Gabrielle while also turning his love for Cynthia into an uncontrollable hatred. George is a pity.)
"Okay. No problem."-I said and left him. On that Saturday, we started to prepare for the wedding.
"My lord, here's your suit jacket. Also, I have a letter from the duke of west."-she said.
"Why is that? I thought he will come on my wedding day today?"-I asked. I took the letter and opened it. She left me and gave me time to read this.
"To George, my friend. Please accept my apologies if I am unable to attend today. I have an important task to complete and I am concerned that I will not be able to complete it on time. I suppose I'll pay you and the crown princess a visit one of these days. Please bear with me for a moment. Thank you, and I've already sent my wedding gift. Duke Leon, your friend."-I said. I returned the letter to its envelope. I boarded the carriage, and we're now on our way to the castle. This auspicious day will be celebrated in the Dawn kingdom. Even the other villages are celebrating our wedding day with festival parties.
"Crown princess Gabrielle Humphries, do you take George Quinn to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"Yes, minister."-she said. She is smiling beautifully.
"Knight commander George Quinn, do you take crown princess Gabrielle Humphries as you lawful wedded wife?"-he asked. I smiled and looked at her.
"Yes, I am minister."-I said. We took the rings and put on each others fingers. We faced the crowd.
"Please welcome crown princess Gabrielle Humphries-Quinn and knight commander George Quinn, our newlyweds!" You are now allowed to kiss each other."-the church minister.
PRICILLA VARGAS POV
While drinking this coffee, I read the letter that is being delivered to my office. It's a member of the Treaty alliance. Is it about the Dawn Kingdom?
"The Dawn kingdom is celebrating a long week of celebrations after crown princess Gabrielle Humphries and great knight commander George Quinn married yesterday? Pufftt!" -I cough. After reading this letter, I spit coffee on my right side. "May the kingdom rejoice and bring the kingdom's next king to this lovely and prosperous kingdom? This has taken me by surprise!? They must have used a good string to strangle that man. I could tell he adored Cynthia when he came to see her. I'm quite surprised." -I said to myself.
Someone comes to the door and knocks. I place the letter on my table and wipe the sweat from my lips. Vincent is holding papers in his hands once more. That naive cousin of mine makes me sigh. He's always passing these dreadful stacks of paperwork!
"May I have your time, duchess Pricilla?"-he said.
"I don't have a choice anyway. What is it, Vincent?"
"These papers is rushed. It is about the problems that happens in one of the villages in Paladin Peak."
"Okay, place it here. Before I forgot, give this to that idiot king of yours."-I said and pass over that letter.
"Is this about?"-he ask. I sigh and stood. I went to the window and saw the kids playing with Wendy.
"It's about the wedding of the crown princess of Dawn kingdom and that knight, George Quinn."
"What? How did that happen? For what reason and why did he—I saw that he loved princess Cynthia truly."-Vincent. I exhale a sigh. Wendy's sudden fall while running made me smile. They're cute, and when I turn around, my eyes widened as I realized how close he is. Our faces are only few inches away.
"Oh, Wendy's still stumbling around. She's still a cub. I will present this to His Majesty. I'll be back in an hour to pick up the papers."-he said. I nodded.
"Okay."-I just say. I decided to take a seat by the window. I desired to have children and live a normal life as a mother and wife. I hope to be able to be one day. I stood there for a few moments longer before returning to my table. I still have stacks of paperwork to read and sign.
"Let's get back to work, my dear self!"
I left my office and am about to deliver this paper to Ulysses' office. Chenqian was crying as she ran away, and I saw her. She simply pass me through.
"Chenqian! Chenqian!"-I said. She didn't look back and continued to my cousin's office. It was a bit open and Marko is inside even Vincent.
"But Chenqian is not a bad mate for you, Marko. As the alpha, I have to arrange marriages in my pack."
I understand him. That's one of his responsibilities.
ULYSSES ALEXANDERS POV
"Is there any women you have in mind then? How about you Vincent?"-I ask. He sighs and smile at me.
"Your Majesty, let us tell you when the time is right." Don't rush into giving us brides or betrothals. We're not in a rush. The most important thing here is that you've found your mate."-Vincent.
"How have things turned out for me? If that's the decision you two have made, I have no choice but to accept it. Have Nathan and Rachel left Cynthia's room?"
Marko sighs. I can tell that he is having doubts himself.
"It appears that Nathan is as serious about courting Cynthia as Yael is. George Quinn, I forgot we had a human as well."-Marko. Vincent abruptly hands over a treaty council letter. I read it after I opened it. Huh?! That girl's and George's wedding? What caused this to happen? What exactly is going on? "Yesterday? But just weeks ago, that man wants to take Cynthia back in Dawn kingdom. What is going on here?"-I mumbled. The door opens.
"Maybe the king or the princess itself had put a leash on him. A strong one that he can't take off himself."-Pricilla. She place the papers that Vincent gave to her. I think she is in a bad mood—again.
"And that is what? By the way, thanks."-I said.
"There are numerous possibilities. Endangering his family? What is his position in the court? Is he being expelled from the kingdom? He seemed to have chosen that in order to advance in the court. I saw how eager he is to re-establish Cynthia's position in the court. I hope he didn't make the wrong decision."-she said. Something is wrong, I knew it.
"Wait, which side are you?"-Marko. Vincent sighs.
"Whatever the reason, princess Cynthia should be aware of this. But for the time being, we must find a way to wake her up. She hasn't slept for days. If she discovers that George has chosen this path, she will undoubtedly rescue him."-Vincent. Pricilla smirk.
"I'm curious what Cynthia will do now that she knows this. So, I'll go back to my desk and finish the rest of my work." -she said, and then she left us. She appears agitated, but she chooses to leave.
"Pricilla is insane—for whatever reason, yet again."
"Maybe because she is tired signing and reading papers around."-Vincent said and check the papers.
"Nope. I don't think so."-Marko insisted. What the elder said to me and Yael has stayed with me. It appears that the elders saw that I couldn't roll up my sleeves and give Yael their blessing. This is bad; in no time, he will persuade Cynthia, and if that happens, it will be my demise. For one reason, I strived to be king of this kingdom. That is to obtain my vengeance on the executioners who slaughtered my village. I knew I might sounded cliché but that's my goal from the beginning. I better stick to it.
NEW CHARACTER POV
I let out a sigh and shook my head. She's a real pain in the butt! She always makes bad decisions! This region will be in chaos in no time! She never seems to learn her lesson. I hope she didn't cause any more problems. My husband and son entered to my office.
"Is there any problem, honey?"-my husband ask.
"Just like in the old days. I can't seem to get a grip on her! She is obstinate! She always did what she wanted and was obsessed with finding a way to enter that kingdom. She can't even find that girl for decades. She is absent from the region for an inordinate amount of time. My gosh, I wanted to slash her neck right now."-I said.
"Calm down, mother. Both my father and I are present. We can assist with the paperwork. We can still use your stamps. We're delighted to assist you."
"I know son. Thank you. But I am not ranting because of these paper works. I am just afraid that our region will be used for nonsense war."-I said. They look on each other.
"What did you mean by…war?"-he ask. I sighed and rose to my feet. I looked out the window at the mountain, which was now silky white with snow as the winter solstice approached. She's my cousin, but I've never tolerated her nonsense hatred.
"Of course, I'm referring to my cousin.? I am afraid that her hatred will cause chaos and major wars among the four clans. This place? If that happens, it will be drenched in blood. I'm getting sick just thinking about it."
"The problem is that she can't accept the fact that her daughter's father has always liked the other one.? Even her pregnancy had no impact on his heart. He simply assisted them, and she never received anything in return. She must have believed she had done something to her beloved man. You are aware of our strength, honey. It has the potential to turn things into deception and bad behavior. We are the most dangerous of the three supernatural clans."-he said.
"That's correct. I just wish we'd been born as normal people. But here we are, born and bred to be witches. No one had ever attempted to create a spell that would stop the curses we have. To be free of the devil's power. All we can do is try to live properly, but this power is horrifyingly evil."
"That's why I always support you. I never think that your wishes for peace are just imaginations that will never happen."-he said. I smiled at him.
"Thanks, that means a lot to me, honey."-I said.
"Of course count me in!"-my son. I burst out laughing. Who knows, maybe it's not such a bad thing to wish and take a step toward my dream of a world where four clans live in harmony. That could happen one of these days, don't you believe?
"Our lady, we have a problem! Your cousin is—"
"Oh great. What again this time?!"-I ask. She's a pain!
