Evil Doing

STAR'S POV:

After I left Ben's office I raced up to the third floor, where Justica and I work. I couldn't wait to tell her what Ben discussed with me! I had to get to work, so I had to wait until our lunch break to tell her. When we took our lunch break, we sat in the lounge, thankfully it was just the two of us in here. We grabbed our lunch from the fridge, sat down and I said, "I gotta tell you something!"

"What is it?" Justice replied.
"Ben called me in his office before I started my shift. He wants to give me a $2.00 raise and a weeks paid vacation. He said I was doing a great job here and this is how he repays his employees. The only thing I have to do is switch my shift and work all night turns," I said.
"Wait. Think about this, why is he being so nice. I mean, a $2.00 raise and a weeks paid vacation! That seems weird to me," She replied.
"It doesn't seem weird to me and it looked like he meant it. And another thing, if I work all nights, I won't be around him since he only works in the daytime," I said.
"Well, I guess that's true. So, what are you going to do?" She asked.
"I told him I'd let him know tomorrow. I have to talk this over with Conri," I replied.
"Well, you gotta do what's best for you," She said.
"I know. I just can't wait to get away from him at work!" I said.
"And I gotta tell you something, but our break is almost over. I'll talk to you later," She said.
"Okay. I can't wait to hear your news. And I can't wait to tell Conri this!" I replied.

I'm hoping the next four hours comes quick. I can't wait to leave here and talk to Conri. It's so busy today that when I looked at the clock, I only have fifteen minutes left. When that last fifteen minutes came, I grabbed my stuff from the breakroom and raced home.

I was surprised to see that Conri wasn't out in the field when I got home. The field is clear and no one is here. I'm not sure why, but I'm kinda glad, that'll give me time to talk to Conri. When I got inside the house, Conri stands by the the sink washing his hands. I went up to him from behind and wrapped my arms around his stomach and said, "Hey babe. How was your day?"

"Oh hey. It was kinda boring." He laughs.
"Did you and the pack trian today? I don't see anyone out there," I replied.
"Not yet. We are going to meet up a little later," He said.
"Good. I gotta tell you something," I replied.
"Go ahead," He said.
"My boss, Ben, called me into his office this morning. He said I'm doing such a great job that he wants to give me a $2.00 raise and a weeks paid vacation. I told him that I'd have to talk to you before I made my decision," I said.
"Wow. I'd say take it. That's good money and being home for a week getting paid, is also great! What do you want to do?" He asked.
"There is just one more thing. He said I'd have to work all night shifts in order to get this. Would that be okay with you?" I asked.
"Hmmm. Well, we would only have a few nights together, but I guess we would have all day together," He said.
"I know, babe. But it will be just for a little while, until we save up some money and then I could quit," I replied.
"Well, I guess this will work. I need to meet your boss sometime soon," He said.
"Okay. So do you think I should take him up on this?" I replied.
"I'd say so. You can give it a try and if it doesn't work out you tell your boss and maybe he can put you back on dayturn," He said.
"That's what I'll do. I never thuoght of that. Thank you babe," I said.

That settles that. I'm going to tell Ben tomorrow that I will take his offer!

I can't believe this, I mean Ben is being so nice to me, offering me this great money and vacation. I thought he was just a prick because of how he treated me. I almost quit because of him, now it's changed and I'm happy about it. I actually can't wait to get to work tomorrow and let him know I accept his offer.

After our discussion, Conri and I went outside and sat by the fire pit. He waits for his pack to arrive, and I can't wait until Justice gets here. I want to hear her good news.

"Conri, should I make dinner first?" I asked.
"You can. I am kinda hungry," He replied.
"Okay. Justice is coming over too. She said she has to tell me something," I replied.
"Hmmm. Wonder what that could be," He said.
"Well, I'll know in a little bit, I'm going to cook now," I said.

I went inside, heated the oven up, then put some chicken in to cook. Once that's getting close to be done, I'll make a salad and heat up some corn. I set the table, then look out of the kitchen window, Justice is here. So I went back outside and sat by the fire with her while Nick and Conri are in the field waiting for the other to arrive. Looking at Justice I asked her what she had to tell me.

"So, do you remember those two days no one could find me?" She asked.
"I do. Yeah, what happened? I was worried about you!" I said.
"Well, Nick and I mated. He turned me into a wolf!" She replied.
"What! No way! Well, I think that's great! Now you're one of us!" I said happily.
"Yeah, At first I wasn't sure about this, but I'm liking this wolf part of me. I mean, I have so much energy that I've never had before," She replied.
"Oh, wait. You will get more powers once you are trianed," I said.
"Are you serious?" She said.
"Oh yeah! That's what Conri and his pack does here at the reserve. They train to become better and stronger!" I replied.

Justice sits here in a little bit of a shock. She didn't know about the training and how we have the field here for the pack to train. I'm going to give her some tips on being a shifter and after she watches them train, she will learn even more.

"Oh and I talked to Conri about what Ben offered me and he said I should take it. I'm going to tell Ben tomorrow that I accept his offer," I said.
"Well, I told you that you have to do what you want to do, but something about this is suspicious to me. I don't know what it is though," I replied.
