The Meeting

STAR'S POV:

I still can't believe my eyes. I can't believe Ben is standing at the doorway. I'm trying to make make anything obvious as to why I;m wondering why he's here so early. It's werid to me that he's here at this hour of the night! I'm not sure what he's dong here. It's just so weird to me, he only works in the daytime. And another thing I've noticed, "why is he trying to hide himself?" I thought to myself. He's just acting suspicious about something and I'm going to find out.

If Ben thinks that I did not see him, well he is wrong. I saw him leave the dorrway quickly. I thought to myself, "who does that, unless they are being suspicious about something!" So I know he must have something up his sleeve. While we wait for the discharge papers, I'm going to talk to one of the nurses sitting at the desk. Since we all work here, we all know Ben and I'm sure one of the nurses will know why he's here at this hour of the night.

I mentioned to Conri that I'm going to go ask one of the nurses where the discharge paper are since they are taking so long. I don't want him to know, I'm thinking something suspicious as to why Ben is here, so I told him that I'll be right back.

As I walk to the nurses station, I look around the emergency room halls and Ben is no where in sight. This is so weird now, I know I saw him and I know I'm not going crazy. When I got to the nurses station, I ask the nurse if Ben is here? The nurse said, "he's here. He had to fix one of the pipes in the basement or something like that. It was leaking."

I put my hand on my chin and said, "I see. I thought I saw him. I was just wondering what he's doing here in this hour of the night." Then I chuckled because I didn't want her to think I was being curious or obvious as to why I was asking about Ben.

I went back to Conri's room and I the only thing I could come up with to tell him as to why his discharge papers are taking so long is because they are backed up in here with many patients.

We both roll our eyes and now we must wait.

While we sit here and wait, In the back of my mind I still think Ben is up to something. I'm not sure exactly what that is, but I have a weird feeling about him being here, not just for a leak. That sounds funny to me!

I'm so done playing this waiting game for these papers! I look at Conri and say, "lets just go! What do we need these papers for?" "I don't need those damn papers, I'm tired of sitting here waiting for them. Lets leave!" Conri replied.

We start to stand up from his bed, as soon as we look out by the door, I could not believe this! Ben is standing at the doorway!

"What the heck is he doing?" I ask myself.

I couldn't believe this, he walks in our room. No I'm concerned, why is he in here?

Ben stands in front of Conri, he looks at me and smiles, then asks what happened. I look at Ben and inform him that I had to call off because Conri got hurt. The next thing I did was introduce Conri and Ben. When I introduced Conri to Ben, I said it in a manner that he will know that I love Conri very much and he comes first! Ben quickly took his eyes off me and looks at Conri. Ben introduced himself to Conri again and shook his hand. Ben made it clear that he is Star's boss. Conri just looks at him like he doesn't even care that he's her boss, it don't matter to Conri. Ben seems to be trying to make it clear that he is somewhat better than Conri. Conri does not fall for his selflessness.

Ben sort of gives Conri a smirk, just to let him know that he's in charge. Conri doesn't even flinch to his games and facial expressions, becuase he does not care, but he feels some tention between the two of them. He feels that something is not right about Ben, he doesn't let Star know what he feels just yet, he decides to let her know when they get home, so he keeps it to himself while they are in the room.

Suddenly Ben asks Star if she's going to be at work tomorrow night? Star and Conri look at him confused as to why he would even ask that right now! Star does not reply to his question. All she does is shake her head up and down and roll her eyes. Conri just stares at him.

Conri is feeling more and more suspicious about Ben, so he looks to Star and asks her if she just wants to leave, without the papers. Star go up from the bed quickly, grabbed Conri's hand and they started walking out into the hallway.

As we near the emergency room doors, I took a glance behind me and Ben is standing by the nurses station wathcing us walk out. I'm not sure what's he's trying to do, but It's making me nervous.

I help Conri in the car and then we drive off. When we arrived home, I help Conri out of the car and we sit outside by the fire pit for a bit. He want's to get osme fresh air, since he was couped up in that room all night.

Conri looks at me and says, "your boss, Ben. I have a feeling somethings off with hime. He just doesn't seem like he's a good dude. I don't know him, but I got a weird feeling about him when we were talking in the room.

I couldn't say anything back, I don't know what to say to Conri right now! I must reassure him that everything is okay.
