Chapter 103 The Challenge

In an instant, Fred walked up to Eric.

"Bastard, what are you doing here? You couldn't live with the embarrassment so you came here to pick a fight?" Fred looked down on Eric.

"Do you think I'm as vulgar as you guys? Do I look like someone who would start a fight? We are civilized people; we won't do such things," Eric said with a smile.

"You... You're calling us vulgar?" Fred's face immediately turned grim.

The few teammates behind Fred directly approached, showing a posture to engage in a physical confrontation with Eric.

"What? You want to fight? I have someone recording; if you lay a hand on me, think about the consequences," Eric said with a cold smile.

After hearing Eric's words, Fred's face turned even darker. He didn't expect Eric to use the same trick he used yesterday.

"Step back!" Fred gave his teammates a stern look.

After hearing his words, the teammates first raised their hands in disdain towards Eric and his group, before stepping back.

"Since you're not here to pick a fight, what do you want?" Fred stared at Eric.

"I came here today to issue a challenge to you," Eric said as he handed Fred a challenge letter.

Fred took the challenge letter and read it.

"You want to challenge our basketball team? Don't you remember anything? We defeated you so easily yesterday, and today you dare to come and challenge us?" Fred sneered.

The teammates behind Fred burst into laughter and started mocking him.

"What a bunch of losers! No matter how much you challenge us, we'll still beat you."

"Hahaha!"

Eric shook his head and smiled, "Fred, you're laughing now, but let me tell you the truth. I've invited an NBA star player to join New York University's team, representing our school to teach you a lesson."

"What did you say? Hahaha!" Fred looked Eric up and down, then burst into laughter.

"Haha, this bastard claims he invited an NBA star player? That's hilarious!"

Fred's teammates behind him joined in the laughter, laughing so hard that they doubled over and even high-fived each other.

The students who were watching nearby also laughed along, as if they had just heard a huge joke.

How could it not be a fantasy for this shabbily dressed loser to claim that he brought star players to New York to play a game for New York University?

"You fool, I suggest you go to a mental hospital, your brain is seriously messed up," Fred said, laughing at Eric.

Then, Fred looked at Big Teddy and the others behind Eric and laughed, saying, "You bunch of idiots are so stupid. This bastard claims he can bring NBA star players, and you actually believe him? Haha."

"You really are a stupid bunch," Fred's teammates behind him mocked as well.

However, Eric remained unfazed.

"Whether we can bring star players or not is our business. You just need to answer. Dare to accept the challenge?" Eric said with a smile.

"Why not? We accept this challenge!" Fred said proudly.

"Fine, then how about we add a little wager? If we lose, we'll kneel on the court and shout that New York University is trash. If you lose, you'll kneel on the ground and publicly apologize to us. How about that?" Eric said with a smile.

"Fine, but what if you cheat after losing?" Fred asked.

"Then we'll sign an agreement. I already have the contract here. Once it's signed, it will have legal effect, and any party that breaches it will have to pay a million dollars in liquidated damages," Eric threw a contract at Fred.

"Alright."

Fred directly signed the agreement. He was confident of winning, so he wasn't afraid at all.

After signing the agreement, a barely noticeable smile appeared on Eric's lips.

"Let's go!"

Eric turned and left with Big Teddy and the others.

Eric had issued the challenge to New York School, and Big Teddy had posted it on the forum, urging everyone to be present on time tomorrow.

After being humiliated before, the students of New York University were filled with anger, so when the news of this challenge spread, it ignited a spark within them.

Once again, it sparked a heated discussion among everyone.

Everyone was asking, what exactly could be done to make the New York University team win against the New York School.

Even on the forums, there was a sense of panic, with everyone lamenting that tomorrow's match would surely be a guaranteed loss because the New York University team simply couldn't compete with the New York School team.

There were even a few individuals anonymously blaming Eric, saying that he knew they couldn't win, yet still challenged them.

Of course, there were also a few classmates trying to console them, saying that he was so talented, maybe he had a way to turn things around after the game.

The next day, at 12:30 PM.

The New York University basketball court was filled with students coming together. At this point, there were already about three thousand students gathered, and more were arriving.

Typically, school-organized basketball games didn't attract this many spectators.

After all, today's match wasn't just a basketball game but it was about the entire reputation of New York University.

Eric, Big Teddy, and all the members of the New York University basketball team appeared on the court.

"They're here! Mr. Phillips and the others are here!"

Eric's arrival caused a stir among the crowd.

Although some people on the forums anonymously criticized and insulted Eric, in reality, there wasn't a single New York University student who would dare to confront him and insult him in person.

On the basketball court.

"Eric, where are the star players? Why haven't they arrived yet?" Big Teddy asked.

"Yeah, Eric," the other team members also looked at Eric.

"I just called and they said their flight was delayed, so they're a bit late. But they've arrived in New York and are on their way to the school," Eric said calmly.

Hearing Eric's words, Big Teddy and the others felt reassured.

"Look, Fred is here too!"

The onlookers suddenly buzzed with excitement.

Eric and Big Teddy turned their heads to see Fred.

Fred entered the basketball court with over ten teammates, an arrogant expression on his face.

Upon seeing Fred, the over three thousand New York University students' eyes turned red, each of them wishing they could rush forward and give Fred a beating, but no one dared to do so.

After entering, Fred looked around and then smiled loudly, saying, "The show today is quite grand, so many people came to witness how you will be defeated again."

As Fred's words echoed, the over three thousand onlookers were instantly filled with anger.

"Damn, Fred is too arrogant!"

"Yeah, I really hope Eric has a way to deal with this Fred.”

Fred looked at Eric and sneered, "You said you invited NBA stars yesterday, right? I don't see any of them. Why don't you call them out?"

One of Fred's teammates behind him chuckled, "He's just blowing hot air. There's no way he can call out any star player!"

"Why the rush? Their plane is delayed, that's all," Eric said casually.

"Delayed? Haha," Fred and his friends burst into laughter.

"You're quite the storyteller, but too bad your stories won't work," Fred said with a smirk.

Then Fred changed the subject, "Alright, enough chit-chat. Regardless of whatever excuses you come up with, if no one shows up, you'll have to get on the court and start the game, quickly. I'll make sure you all suffer a worse defeat at New York University than last time!"

"Why the rush? We agreed to play at one o'clock. It's only twelve forty now, still twenty minutes left," Eric said.

"You want to buy more time? Fine, I'll wait until one o'clock. I want to see what tricks you can pull. Once it strikes one, if you don't start the game, consider it a forfeit!" Fred said arrogantly.

"Eric, will they make it by one o'clock?" Big Teddy leaned in and expressed his concern.

Big Teddy's teammates also looked at Eric with worried expressions.

"Stay calm, let's wait," Eric said calmly.

Eric wasn't sure if they could make it by one o'clock either, but at this moment, all they could do was wait.

During the wait, the New York University students watching became restless and anxious.

"What's going on? Why hasn't the game started?"

"I don't know. What can Eric do? It seems like there's no way we can win against New York School!"

"Yeah, it looks like we have no chance of winning at the moment."

"We can only hope for a miracle to happen."

Time kept passing, and soon it was already one o'clock, but there was still no sign of the star players.
