Chapter 156 Eric Gets Angry

"You should've told me sooner. Come on, let's go pay the bill now!"

Eric grabbed Sharon's hand and hurried towards the hospital.

Once inside, they made a beeline for the payment counter.

Since it was late, there was no line. Eric, still holding Sharon's hand, rushed straight to the counter.

"We need to pay the bill, can you handle it?" Eric slid a medical card through the window.

Addison Mitchell, the clerk, was busy chatting on WhatsApp.

"Hold on a sec!" Addison tossed out the words and kept chatting, totally absorbed.

Eric had no choice but to wait.

But after a minute, Addison was still glued to her phone, not even looking up.

Sharon looked really anxious.

Eric was getting frustrated too. Sharon had just told him the surgery was urgent and couldn't start without payment.

"Please hurry, we're in a rush, thanks!" Eric urged.

"Didn't I say wait a minute? You think you're the only one who's in a rush? If you can't wait, then leave!" Addison snapped, her tone sharp.

Eric frowned.

He thought he'd been polite, but Addison's attitude was ticking him off.

"First, speak politely! Second, get over here and process this now!" Eric shouted coldly.

Since Addison was being rude, Eric saw no need to be nice.

"How dare you talk to me like that!" Addison slammed her phone down and stood up, glaring at Eric.

"How dare you talk to me like that? I'm not processing your payment today. If you want me to, you better apologize right now!" Addison said arrogantly.

"Know that you're just a payment clerk!" Eric's eyes flashed coldly.

He turned to Sharkman and said, "Sharkman, go to Steven's office and bring him here! Just mention my name!"

Before coming here, Eric had been having dinner with Sharkman and Wolfman, so Sharkman was with him. Wolfman, of course, was always around, keeping an eye on things.

"Eric, I'm on it!" Sharkman nodded and took off.

Eric looked back at Addison and said coldly, "I'm giving you one last chance. Process this before Steven gets here, or you'll regret it!"

"How could possibly a man like you would know Steven? Stop trying to scare me!" Addison sneered.

Eric was fuming. He needed to pay for Amelia Bush's surgery, and Addison was messing with him.

Normally, Eric would take his time to deal her, but he had no patience right now.

Eric grabbed a metal sign and smashed it against the payment window.

There was a loud crash.

The tempered glass didn't break, but Addison was clearly scared.

"Security! Security, someone's causing trouble here!" Addison grabbed the intercom and called for help.

Eric, still unable to break the glass, swung again.

He smashed it several times, but the tempered glass wouldn't budge.

Seeing Eric couldn't break the glass, Addison felt smug.

"Keep smashing, can you break it? You dare to cause trouble in the hospital. Once security arrives, you're done for. You'll be sent to the police station and detained for at least a week!" Addison taunted with a smile.

Sharon, initially worried, felt relieved after considering Eric's status.

The noise had drawn the attention of many patients passing by.

"Why is he smashing the payment window?"

"Addison must've really ticked him off. She's awful!"

"Yeah, every time I go to pay, she treated me badly. She needs a wake-up call!"

"Too bad for this guy, though. Look, security's coming!"

Sure enough, eight security guards rushed over.

"Security, get this troublemaker!" Addison yelled.

The guards pulled out their batons, ready to take down Eric.

"Stop!" A stern voice cut through the chaos.

Steven Rogers, a middle-aged man with a serious look, walked over with Sharkman by his side.

"Mr. Rogers!" The security guards quickly saluted him.

"Mr. Rogers is here?" The patients around were surprised.

"Steven, why are you here? This guy's causing trouble and smashing the glass. Get security to arrest him!" Addison shouted at Steven.

It turned out, Addison was related to Steven, which explained her arrogance and why she wasn't fazed when Eric mentioned calling him.

Steven shot Addison a fierce glare, wiped the sweat off his forehead, and quickly approached Eric.

"Mr. Phillips, your man explained everything to me on the way here. I apologize!" Steven looked anxious.

Sharkman had been hospitalized here before, so Eric and Steven had crossed paths. Steven knew Eric and was well aware of his clout.

"Mr. Rogers, if you hadn't come, I was about to call the Power Group to send people over and wreck your hospital!" Eric said, his eyes cold.

Steven trembled. He was just a hospital administrator. He might seem powerful to regular folks, but he knew Eric, who could easily take him down.

The surrounding patients were shocked.

"What's going on? Mr. Rogers is bowing and scraping to him?"

"Looks like this guy has some serious connections! No wonder he dared to smash the glass."

Addison was stunned to see Steven bowing and scraping to Eric.

"Steven, why are you being so humble?" Addison shouted, confused.

"Shut up!" Steven glared at her fiercely.

"Mr. Rogers, the first thing you need to do is immediately arrange surgery for Amelia! Got it?" Eric said coldly.

Steven nodded, "Yes, I'll arrange it right away. As for the cost, Mr. Phillips, you don't need to pay. Our hospital will cover it as an apology."

Steven then called out to the head nurse, Jenna Evans, who was watching nearby, "Jenna, immediately relay my order to get the chief surgeon. No matter what the chief surgeon is doing, stop it and arrange Amelia's surgery immediately. Everything else can wait."

"Yes!" Jenna nodded and quickly went to make arrangements.

Eric nodded. With the surgery being arranged, he felt relieved and had time to deal with Addison.

"Get out here!" Steven shouted at Addison.

Seeing Steven angry, Addison didn't dare say much.

Soon, Addison came out from the payment window.

"What are you standing there for? Apologize to Mr. Phillips immediately!" Steven shouted at Addison, his face dark.

"Steven, who is he?" Addison couldn't help but ask.

Addison really wanted to know who Eric was to make Steven so afraid.

Steven sternly said to Addison, "You don't even know who you offended? He is the chairman of the Power Group's Silverbrook Branch! Do you get it now?!"

Upon learning Eric's identity, Addison gasped in shock, feeling dizzy and unable to stand. She thought, 'I have offended such a big shot?'
