Chapter 155 Sharon's Request
This land was already cleared for development, so why the sudden ban again?
Plus, Eric bought this land last time, so he's the owner. If there's a new ban, the notice should go to him, right?
But the document ended up in Frank's hands.
Eric could almost bet this had something to do with Frank!
"Yeah, I did it. So what? See the difference between us now? I told you, going against me is a dead end. You, a worthless piece of trash, aren't even worth my time!" Frank sneered.
"Bastard! How dare you talk to Eric like that? I'm gonna beat you up!" Sharkman, standing next to Eric, raised his fist, ready to charge at Frank.
"Sharkman, don't!" Eric stopped him.
Even though Eric wanted to punch Frank too, he knew now wasn't the time.
Since Eric spoke, Sharkman stepped back.
Then Matthew stepped forward and said, "Mr. Phillips, this document came from higher-ups, and I have to enforce it. I hope you'll stop the work immediately and pull the workers and equipment from the site."
"I'll handle it," Eric nodded.
Even though he hated it, he had no choice but to comply.
Eric wasn't dumb enough to go against the government.
"Without this site, your losses must be huge, right? This is just a warning. Like I said, stay away from Tina. If I find out you're bothering her again, I'll make sure you regret it!" Frank said smugly.
After that, Frank laughed loudly and walked away.
"Damn it!" Watching Frank leave and hearing his triumphant laughter, Eric was fuming.
This site was super important to Eric!
If it ended like this, it'd be a huge loss for him.
Most importantly, Eric wasn't convinced!
Just then, General Manager Cooper walked up and asked, "Mr. Phillips, what should we do now?"
"Make arrangements to withdraw the workers and equipment," Eric said.
"Mr. Phillips, are we just giving up on this project?" Cooper seemed really reluctant.
"We're not giving up, just putting it on hold. When the time is right, I'll restart this project," Eric said.
Cooper nodded, "Got it, Mr. Phillips. Don't worry, I'll handle the site withdrawal."
"That Frank, daring to mess with me, I'll make sure he regrets it," Eric said, narrowing his eyes.
Even though Frank won this round, Eric would remember this and make Frank pay in the future!
After getting back from the site, Eric called Sean.
Sean had helped Eric lift the ban on this land before, and now that it was banned again, Eric had to let him know.
On the phone, Eric explained the situation to Sean.
"Grandpa, I'm really sorry. I let you down," Eric said, feeling down.
"It's okay, that Frank probably won't stay in Silverbrook for long before he has to go back to the military. Once he leaves, I'll help you lift the ban again, and then you can resume development," Sean said kindly.
Eric nodded, understanding.
"By the way, Grandpa, the Perez family has a lot of power. Since I pissed off Frank, will this affect the Power Group or you?" Eric asked, worried.
"Don't worry, I've always had a bad relationship with the Perez family. Especially the Perez Group, we've been competing for years. Whether you offend Frank or not won't change anything between me and the Perez family," Sean said with a smile.
After a pause, Sean continued, "Eric, I've come this far not just by luck. I also have strong backing. Even the Perez family wouldn't dare mess with me easily."
"I see," Eric nodded, understanding.
Eric thought about it and agreed. With the Perez family's clout, if Sean didn't have strong backing, he would've been taken down by them ages ago. How else could he have built the Power Group to what it was now?
"Remember, Frank's going back to the military soon. If you can't beat him, just hang in there for a few days. Smart people know when to be patient; there's no shame in it," Sean advised.
"I get it, Grandpa," Eric nodded.
Eric knew Sean was worried about him getting hurt by Frank.
"But remember this: you're the future heir of the Power Group, and he's the future heir of the Perez family. You two are bound to clash in the future. You need to find ways to get stronger so you can take him on later!" Sean said.
"I got it!" Eric nodded firmly.
Meanwhile, at the hospital.
"Mr. Hall, the assassin has completely lost contact, and Eric is still alive and kicking. Looks like the plan failed again!" Oliver whispered.
Donald looked grim. "How could this happen? Wasn't that assassin supposed to be top-notch? How could he just disappear? Did Eric find him and take him out?"
"Mr. Hall, that's very likely. Seems we underestimated Eric. Even an assassin couldn't take him down," Oliver said.
"Damn it!" Donald cursed.
Donald had high hopes for this plan. He thought this time he could definitely kill Eric and get his revenge, but it failed again.
"But Mr. Hall, Frank from the Perez family has recently come to Silverbrook and clashed with Eric. He even got the Power Group's Project Site No. 1 shut down," Oliver said.
"Really!" Donald sat up, surprised.
Project Site No. 1 was a sore spot for Donald. Hearing this news made him very happy.
"Let them fight. Hopefully, Frank can take Eric out!" Donald said joyfully.
Meanwhile, Eric was having dinner with Sharkman and Wolfman at a restaurant.
Even though Frank's actions today had really upset Eric, Sharkman had been discharged from the hospital and joined his team, so Eric treated them to a big meal to celebrate Sharkman's joining.
Just then, Eric's phone rang.
When Eric saw the caller ID, he was surprised.
"Sharon!" Eric didn't expect Sharon to call him.
After all, the last time he rejected Sharon, she said she wouldn't have anything to do with him anymore.
Since then, even in class, Sharon would avoid Eric. Even if she couldn't avoid him, she wouldn't talk to him.
The last time in the classroom, she suddenly came up to him like she had something to say but then left immediately.
"Sharon," Eric answered the call.
"Eric, I need your help. I can't think of anyone else!" Sharon said, crying.
Hearing Sharon's words, Eric's heart sank.
Could something have happened to her?
"Sharon, what happened?" Eric asked urgently.
"Can you come to Silverbrook Center Hospital right now? I'm begging you!" Sharon cried.
"Don't say begging! Wait for me, I'll be right there!" Eric replied.
It was already evening. After hanging up the phone, Eric drove his Lamborghini to the hospital.
At the hospital entrance, Eric saw a haggard-looking Sharon.
Sharon's eyes were red, like she had just cried. She looked so pitiful that Eric felt an urge to rush over and hug her, to comfort her.
"Sharon, what happened? Tell me quickly!" Eric rushed to her and asked urgently.
"After my mom's last surgery, something went wrong. Her condition suddenly relapsed a few days ago, and it's much worse than before," Sharon said.
Biting her lip, Sharon continued, "But the surgery costs too much, and I can't afford it. So the surgery has been delayed. But today, my mom's condition worsened again. The doctor said if we don't pay for the surgery soon, she won't make it! I have no one else to turn to but you!"
