Chapter 097 A Decade-Long Grudge
"Alfred is right about everything," Eric said calmly.
Then, Eric looked at the groom.
"Firstly, I wish you a happy marriage," Eric said nonchalantly.
The groom's forehead was covered in cold sweat, and his entire body trembled with fear.
Although Eric hadn't scolded him yet, he was terrified because he remembered when Eric had entered earlier, threatening to deal with him.
"Secondly, I previously mentioned that you looked like a pig. Do you have any objections?" Eric stared at the groom.
"No, no, no! I have no objections!" the groom forced a smile and shook his head repeatedly.
Then, the groom hurriedly said, "Mr. Phillips, earlier I..."
Eric waved his hand, interrupting him.
"If you want to apologize to me, then you should keep quiet because you're not even worthy of apologizing to me."
After speaking, Eric directly looked at the bride, Madelyn.
"Eric, you... You actually have such a terrifying social status now..." Madelyn stared at Eric blankly.
Madelyn never dreamed that her former lover, whom she had dumped, would rise to such heights in social status!
Madelyn thought about when she had insulted Eric by asking if he couldn't afford the betrothal gifts when she called him yesterday. Thinking about it now, Madelyn felt extremely ashamed.
Of course, she regretted even more, regretted missing out on such an incredible man!
"Still, congratulations to you for marrying a husband who looks like a pig," Eric stared at Madelyn calmly.
After finishing, Eric turned around directly, no longer casting a glance at her.
Then, Eric turned his head to Vince and Woody, sitting at the table.
"Both of you, I just mentioned that my social status would scare you, didn't you find it funny? Weren't you mocking me? Laugh now," Eric said casually.
"We... We..." Woody and Vince's faces turned pale, and their legs couldn't stop trembling. The fear in their hearts could be imagined.
Neither of them ever dreamed that they would offend such a powerful figure.
"I told you to laugh, didn't you hear me?" Eric's voice suddenly became icy.
"Yes, yes!" they both nodded repeatedly, forcing an awkward smile.
They both understood very well that with Eric's social status, it would be easier to crush them than to squash an ant!
So, no matter what Eric said, they could only obey.
Finally, Eric turned his gaze towards Nick.
At this moment, Nick's forehead was already covered in sweat beads. Sensing Eric's gaze, he felt a chill down his spine, and fear appeared on his face.
He recalled how he had stolen Eric's girlfriend, fought with Eric, and just mocked Eric during the gift-giving ceremony, not to mention the various ridicules and sarcasm he had thrown at Eric before on the table!
"Nick, as I told you earlier, you couldn't bear the consequences if you provoked me, but unfortunately, you didn't believe me then," Eric said, shaking his head.
"Mr. Phillips, I now understand, I was wrong! Please spare me!" Nick quickly knelt down and begged Eric for mercy.
Who would have thought he had offended such an existence!
"Spare you? Sorry, it's impossible!" Eric narrowed his eyes and said.
After a pause, Eric continued, "You should still remember our grudges from middle school, right? Today is the day we settle our old scores together!"
Then, Eric looked at Alfred beside him and said, "Alfred, please do me a favor. Please call the security guards."
"No problem. It's an honor for me to serve Mr. Phillips!" Alfred smiled and responded. He couldn't be happier to help Eric, as this was a great opportunity to curry favor with him.
Nick felt panicked and frightened when he heard Eric asking for the security guards. He couldn't help but tremble uncontrollably, but there was nothing he could do.
Alfred was very efficient. In less than three minutes, he brought the hotel owner and a dozen security guards to the scene.
"Mr. Phillips, I am Gary, the owner of TL Hotel," the owner greeted Eric respectfully.
"I don't like fighting, so I'm asking the security guards to give this person a beating. Is that okay? It doesn't have to be too severe, as long as he's still breathing," Eric pointed to Nick.
After hearing these words, everyone present twitched at the corners of their eyes. Beating him only to the point of still breathing?
Nick's eyes widened in sheer terror upon hearing Eric's words.
"No problem, I will make sure to carry out Mr. Phillips' instructions," the owner Gary nodded repeatedly.
Then, Gary gave a direct order, "Beat him up, as long as he's still breathing."
As soon as the order was given, the dozen security guards swarmed and started mercilessly beating Nick.
"Help me!"
"Eric, please spare me!"
Nick screamed and begged for mercy as he was being beaten.
This scene made the guests present shudder with fear, but nobody dared to speak up or interfere.
Those who had previously done wrong to Eric were even more terrified.
Eric looked at Nick lying on the ground, showing no trace of mercy.
Because Eric still vividly remembered how Nick had called for others to beat him when he confronted Nick for stealing his woman.
Eric still remembered to this day how Nick had ruined him mentally by snatching his woman and beating him, causing him to have a breakdown that took over a year to recover from, leading to a decline in his grades.
Back then, Eric didn't have the ability for revenge.
Now, it was time for Eric to settle this score, as he had promised himself.
Approximately ten minutes later.
"Stop!" Eric waved his hand.
Upon hearing this, the dozen security guards ceased their actions.
Eric walked up to Nick.
At this moment, Nick was lying on the ground, barely breathing, his face covered in blood, as disheveled as could be.
Eric stepped directly on Nick's face and looked down at him, squinting his eyes as he spoke, "Nick, ten years ago, after your people had beaten me up, you were the one who stepped on my face just like this. I said back then that one day, I would seek revenge, and that day is today."
Ten years ago, Eric himself couldn't have imagined that he would be able to take revenge after ten years. Perhaps this proved the saying that revenge is a dish best served cold!
Nick, pinned to the ground, coughed up some blood, his face pale.
As for Nick's current state of mind, only he knew it best.
"I'll give you a piece of advice: once you've recovered, don't stay in New York. Otherwise, every time I see you, I'll beat you up," Eric said as he turned his back on Nick, no longer paying him any attention.
"Alfred, Gary, I won't continue attending this wedding. I'll take my leave, and I'll remember your help," Eric said calmly.
Upon hearing Eric's words, Alfred and Gary couldn't help but smile from ear to ear. Having the Chairman of the Power Group owe them a favor was an enormous benefit.
"Alright!" Alfred and Gary said in unison.
And so, under the respectful farewell of Alfred and Gary, Eric walked away.
"I'll walk him out too," Madelyn said to the groom.
After speaking, Madelyn hurriedly followed suit.
In the hotel parking lot.
Alfred and Gary escorted Eric all the way to his Lamborghini.
"Take care, gentlemen."
After Eric finished speaking, he directly opened the car door and got in.
Just as Eric settled into the car and was about to close the door, Madelyn ran over.
"Wait, Eric!" Madelyn called out to him.
"What do you want?" Eric looked at Madelyn calmly.
"Eric, as my first love. I've actually...I've always had feelings for you all these years. Can you give me another chance? I think we can start over," Madelyn said, biting her lip.
"Sorry, you don't deserve it!" Eric uttered these five words, then closed the car door.
Amidst the resounding roar, the Lamborghini left in a flash, leaving behind dust and exhaust for Madelyn.
Madelyn watched the silhouette of the departing Lamborghini, her eyes flickering with complex emotions.
Ten years ago, Madelyn couldn't have imagined that the boyfriend she had looked down on would rise to the pinnacle, reaching heights she could never aspire to.
