Chapter 120 Confrontation

Donald Hall took a step forward, his cold voice cutting through the tension. "Horizon Group offered you a generous settlement of a million dollars out of decency, but you refused it and dared to raise a hand to us. You’ve chosen to disregard our goodwill, so now you'll face the consequences! Today, I, Donald Hall, will ensure that your orphanage is razed to the ground!"

With a grand sweep of his hand, Donald commanded, "Tear it down!"

His voice reverberated across the grounds as the excavators roared to life, advancing upon the orphanage.

Boom! A deafening crash echoed as the front gates were bulldozed to the ground by the colliding force of the machines.

"You monsters! Stop this at once!" The director screamed hysterically as she charged toward Donald Hall.

"Out of my way!" Donald’s boot met the director's midsection, sending her sprawling to the floor.

"Director!" Olivia rushed over; her own fear palpable as she helped her up.

"Director, please, think of the children. What will happen to them if something happens to us?" Olivia pleaded with urgency.

"Yes! Olivia, call the children out, we can't let them get hurt!" The director strained to speak as she gasped for air with every breath.

"Don't worry, the children have been taken to safety," Olivia assured him.

In that moment, the young man who had reported earlier led a band of over a hundred children from the orphanage.

"Director! Miss Olivia!" The children clustered around Olivia and the director, most of them young and visibly shaken by the chaotic scene around them.
"Director, Sister Olivia, everyone's out. I've counted 'em all, not one missing," said the young man.

Olivia and the director breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this, thankful that the children were all safe and sound.

Then, they all turned to look at the orphanage being invaded by bulldozers, already advancing upon the buildings that mostly comprised of easy-to-demolish three-story structures.

"Our orphanage... it's over..." the director lamented with an expression of utter despair as she watched the destruction of her cherished orphanage unfold.

Suddenly, the ear-splitting roar of a high-performance engine cut through the noise.

Everyone turned towards the sound to see a green Lamborghini speeding toward the orphanage.

"Block it! Don't let any vehicle through!" Donald Hall commanded.

His cronies quickly formed a human barrier across the road.

However, the Lamborghini skidded to a halt about fifty meters away from them.

Eric Phillips leaned out from the driver's side and shouted, "The job's Donald's, but your lives are your own. If you're not afraid to die, then stay put!"

After his declaration, he ducked back into the car and floored the accelerator.

The engine roared as the Lamborghini charged toward the human wall, not slowing down at all.

"Holy crap! He's really going for it!"

"Move, move, move! Get out of the way!"

Donald's men panicked, their faces turning pale as they quickly scattered to clear a path, knowing full well they'd be crushed if they didn't.

With the road now clear, Eric's green Lamborghini pulled up right at the entrance of the orphanage and screeched to a halt.

The doors flew open and both Eric and Wolfman emerged from the car.

Eric's expression darkened as he saw the bulldozers tearing into the orphanage.

"Mr. Phillips!" Olivia, supporting the director, approached him.

"What happened to you, Director?" Eric noticed the blood at the corner of the director's mouth and her pallid face.

"That Donald Hall kicked him in the stomach," Olivia explained.

"That animal! He doesn't even spare the elderly," Eric's face darkened with anger.

"Mr. Phillips, I'll be fine. Please, save our orphanage," begged the director.

"Don't worry, I'm on it. I won't let this go," Eric assured, nodding his head determinedly.
Eric turned abruptly to face Donald. His eyes, cold with fury, bore into Donald's.

"Donald Hall, you soulless bastard! How could you bulldoze an orphanage? Do you have any shred of humanity left?" Eric spit out each word with utter contempt.

"Don't act so self-righteous, Eric Phillips. You've had your eyes on this land too, haven't you?" Donald Hall retorted with a sneer.

After a brief pause, he added arrogantly, "And you've got guts, showing up here with just one other guy."

"Touch me and see what happens! You think my grandfather would let you off the hook if something happened to me?" Eric shot back with a cold laugh.

Donald Hall's face darkened. Truth be told, he couldn’t dare make a blatant move against Eric.

At that moment, the bald man beside Donald Hall pointed at Wolfman, Eric's companion.

"Mr. Hall, it was that guy who beat up our men this morning," the bald man reported.

"Over forty of you were taken down by one man? Pathetic," Donald Hall said derisively.

"It isn't that the men are weak, Mr. Hall. It's just that this guy is insanely tough. I bet if he wasn't pulling his punches, our men would be dead," the bald man said with a mix of frustration and awe.

Upon hearing this, Donald Hall gave Wolfman another look.

"To the bodyguard over there, how would you like to work for me instead? I'll triple whatever Eric Phillips is paying you - plus, I've got a whole bevy of women for your pleasure!" Donald Hall proposed, a twisted incentive in his voice.

Wolfman licked his lips, then in a gravelly voice, he said, "The only thing I'm interested in is your head on a platter."

"You!" Donald Hall's face turned pale with anger.

Eric spoke up again, his voice icy and commanding, "Enough with the chatter, Donald Hall. I'm ordering you to halt the demolition, now!"

"Ordering me? What makes you think you have the authority to command me?" Donald Hall burst into mocking laughter.

"What can the two of you do against all this?" Donald Hall continued to scoff as he glanced at the heavy machinery and army of men that surrounded him, "Let me tell you, that orphanage is going down today, no ifs, ands, or buts about it!"

Eric scanned the crowd of five hundred behind Hall.

"You think you’re the only one who can gather a crowd? I've got people too," Eric scoffed dismissively.

Just then, the sound of bus horns honking broke through the confrontation. Everyone turned to look as twenty buses with their hazard lights flashing majestically made their way toward them. Boldly emblazoned on each bus was the name 'Power Mansion Security Services.'
"It's this kid's people!" Donald Hall's face turned sour as he read the insignia on the side of the buses rolling in without any sign of slowing down. His underlings scattered, making a clear path for the convoy.

The twenty buses rolled right onto the scene and came to a halt in an orderly fashion. Then, the doors swung open, and out stepped men in the uniform of Power Mansion Security, lining up with impeccable precision.

Leading the pack were Ryan and Bill.

A closer look revealed they'd brought nearly a thousand men with them!

As they finished lining up.

"Eric!"

Ryan and Bill, along with their legion of guards, bowed respectfully to Eric.

A thousand guards saluting in perfect unison – it was a show of force that reverberated across the site, silencing the crowd, the only sound left being the deep rumble of the bulldozers' engines.

Even Donald Hall couldn't hide his apprehension. He had brought only five hundred men to the site, outnumbered now by Eric’s forces.

Olivia and the Director stood with their hands over their mouths, faces etched with disbelief. They knew Mr. Phillips was wealthy, but they had never imagined he could muster such an army.

Suddenly, there was a glimmer of hope.

In the midst of it all.

"Donald Hall, I'm ordering you one more time to stop this demolition at once. Otherwise, don't blame me for what comes next," Eric declared, fixing Donald Hall with a steely gaze. Although not loud, his tone was commanding.

"You're trying to outdo me in a show of force, huh? I'm Donald Hall, and my fifteen years in New York weren't spent in vain. I can summon thousands with just a phone call!" Donald spat back menacingly.

"You're missing the point. Since you won't stop, I won't hold back!" Eric replied coolly.

Then, with a narrow-eyed wave of his hand from Eric Phillips, the order was given.

"Brothers, take him! Capture Donald Hall alive."

Bill and Ryan approached Eric and whispered, "Eric, brawling in broad daylight might cause a huge stir. If this turns into a major scandal, even Boss Williams might not be able to keep it under wraps."
