Chapter 149 Frank Perez

"Fred!" Tina marched right up to him.

"Tina, you're here too?" Fred looked surprised.

Ignoring his question, Tina blurted out, "Fred, you said he's the chairman of Power Group? Sean's actual grandson? Are you serious?"

Her eyes were wide with shock.

She still couldn't wrap her head around it.

"Tina, why would I joke about that? George knows too. Didn't he tell you?" Fred replied.

"My dad knows? I'm calling him right now!" Tina whipped out her phone, found George's number, and dialed.

"Tina," George answered.

"Dad, is Eric really the chairman of Power Group? Sean's grandson?" Tina demanded.

"Tina, you found out? Well, no point hiding it now. Yes, he is," George confirmed.

"You knew all along?" Tina pressed.

"Of course. If he didn't have such a strong background, why would I set you two up?" George chuckled.

Tina finally got it. That's why George went to such lengths, even drugging her, to push her towards Eric. She'd always wondered why George, who wanted someone powerful for her, suddenly wanted her with Eric.

It turned out, George knew Eric's identity all along.

"Dad, why didn't you tell me?" Tina shouted.

"Tina, it was Mr. Phillips' idea. He told me not to, and I didn't dare," George explained.

Hanging up, Tina looked at Eric with a mix of emotions. "You lied to me this whole time!"

"At the ball registration, I told you I wasn't after your family's money. Do you believe me now?" Eric said, spreading his hands.

Tina's face was a storm of emotions. She realized that as Sean's grandson, Eric couldn't have been after her money.

She'd had so many doubts.

Why didn't Eric take money when she hired him to pretend to be her boyfriend?

Why did he claim his car was better than hers, making her think he was bragging?

She even thought he was after her family's fortune.

But now, all those doubts made sense with Eric's true identity revealed.

"Sean's grandson... I never imagined," Tina said, staring at Eric.

"Tina, can you accept me now?" Eric asked, stepping closer.

Tina was taken aback, then said coldly, "You think being Sean's grandson will make me fall for you? Dream on! I'm not just about money!"

With that, she ran off.

"Tina!" Eric called after her.

He thought revealing his identity would ease her worries and make him trustworthy to her.

He didn't expect her to still refuse.

After a moment, Eric decided to chase her. He was determined to settle things with Tina today.

Outside the ballroom, Eric caught up with her.

"Why are you still following me?" Tina snapped.

"Tina, I did all this because I felt guilty about that night. I want to take responsibility. Do you get that?" Eric said.

He paused, then added, "I hid my identity because I didn't want to pressure you, not to deceive you. Do you understand?"

Eric felt it was time to lay everything out.

Hearing his words, Tina's eyes welled up, and tears started streaming down her face.

"I already told you, I don't need you to take responsibility!" she cried out.

Why did Tina keep pushing Eric away?

There were two reasons.

First, she was scared Eric was only interested in her family's money, not her.

And the bigger reason? She didn't want Eric to be with her out of some sense of duty; she wanted him to genuinely like her. Only then would she be with him!

If you asked her if she had feelings for Eric, she actually did!

To Tina, Eric was the most unique guy she'd ever met. But if he wanted to be with her just because of that one night, she couldn't accept it!

She wanted to hear "I love you," not "I want to take responsibility for you."

So, when Eric said he wanted to take responsibility, it broke her heart.

"Tina!" Seeing her cry, Eric felt a pang of guilt.

He just couldn't figure out what she was thinking.

At that moment, a Bugatti rolled up, worth millions, even more than Eric's Lamborghini.

A car like that was rare in Silverbrook.

And the license plate? It was from Aurora Bay.

The car stopped, and out stepped Frank Perez, a buzz-cut, muscular guy in a camo T-shirt, camo pants, and military boots.

"Tina!" He walked over with a grin.

"Frank!" Tina's eyes widened in surprise.

In no time, Frank was standing right in front of her.

"Frank, what are you doing back in Silverbrook?" Tina asked, still shocked.

"I'm on leave from the military. I got bored in Aurora Bay, so I thought I'd come back to Silverbrook and see you," Frank said, smiling.

"Yeah, it's been almost ten years," Tina nodded.

"That's right, Tina, you're looking more beautiful than ever," Frank said with a smile.

Then he frowned. "Tina, your eyes are red. Have you been crying? Who made you cry? I'll deal with them."

"No one!" Tina quickly wiped her tears.

"Tina, it's okay, just tell me," Frank said, glancing at Eric.

There were only Eric and Kyle behind him.

"Did you make Tina cry? If so, on your kneels and apologize!" Frank demanded.

"Who are you? Big talk for a stranger," Eric sneered.

"Who am I? I'm Frank. Ever heard of me?" Frank laughed.

"Frank? Sorry, never heard of you! No matter who you are, don't mess with me," Eric said coldly.

"Even in Aurora Bay, not many people talk to me like that. And here in Silverbrook? You must have a death wish!" Frank said, stepping forward and grabbing Eric by the collar.

"You'd better let go. You sure you can handle what comes next?" Eric squinted at him.

Kyle, behind Eric, quickly spoke up, "You're getting physical! Do you know who he is? He's Sean's grandson!"

He revealed Eric's identity, hoping to scare Frank.

"Sean's grandson?" Frank sneered.

"If it were Sean himself, I might show some respect. But you're just his grandson. To me, you're nothing!" Frank said, staring at Eric with a smirk.

Hearing this, Eric frowned.

Since reuniting with Sean, this was the first time someone wasn't intimidated by his name.

Eric had a gut feeling that this Frank guy might have a background even more impressive than his own.
