Chapter 133 The Long List of Guests

"Yeah, whatever. If I need something, I'll holler," Eric said, waving his hand like it was no big deal.

"Got it, I’ll leave you to it," Leonard replied, and slipped out of the private room without a fuss. He then told a few waiters to make sure everyone in the VIP room was taken care of.

Leonard had thought about raising a toast, but then he figured he wasn't high enough on the food chain to be clinking glasses with Eric, so he wisely held back.

Once Leonard was gone, the classmates in the room were all buzzing. "Did the general manager of Golden KTV just come to pay his respects to Eric?"

Golden KTV was a big deal in Silverbrook, backed by Starlight Entertainment Group. The classmates were thinking, 'For Leonard to be the general manager of Golden KTV, he must be pretty important, not any less than the two big shots who were here earlier! And he personally came to see Eric?'

"What's the big deal? Eric ordered three bottles of Lafite. With that kind of cash being thrown around, it's normal for the general manager to come and say hi. You guys are so gullible," Cody said, rolling his eyes.

"Oh, that makes sense. Cody's got a point." Everyone nodded, finally getting it.

Just as Eric stepped out, a waiter rushed in and announced loudly, "Benjamin Brown, the owner of Broadway Foods Company, is outside and wants to come in and offer a toast."

"Broadway Foods Company?" Eric immediately remembered the company. Last time he hosted a dinner and said he was blacklisting the Miller Family, Benjamin from Broadway Foods Company was the first to back him up!

"The owner of Broadway Foods Company?"

"No way! Broadway Foods Company is the top dog in Silverbrook's food industry, with assets over two hundred million dollars!"

"Such a big shot wants to come to our private room? Is he here to see Cody again?"

The classmates started buzzing again when they heard the owner of Broadway Foods Company was outside. This was a billionaire, and his company was super famous in Silverbrook. Such a big shot wanting to come to their private room—how could they not be shocked?

Before Eric could say anything, Cody jumped in, "Is the owner of Broadway Foods Company here? Get him in here, quick!"

"Yes, sir," the waiter said and left.

"Even Mr. Brown from Broadway Foods Company wants to see me," Cody said, grinning.

But he was confused. He didn't really know Benjamin that well.

Cody thought, 'In this room, besides me, who else could make such a big boss come to greet? No one! Maybe Benjamin knows I'm in the debt collection business and wants to meet me?'

"Cody is really something, even the owner of Broadway Foods Company wants to greet him!"

"Cody is truly amazing! We can't even compare!"

Some classmates couldn't help but praise Cody. Only Eric shook his head and chuckled, because he already knew Benjamin wasn't here to see Cody at all; he was clearly here to see him!

At that moment, the private room door swung open. Benjamin walked in quickly with a big smile on his face.

Seeing this, Cody jumped up to greet him. After all, this was a big boss with assets over two hundred million dollars; Cody didn't dare to act all high and mighty.

"Mr. Brown, welcome!" Cody said, rushing over with a big, fake smile.

"Who are you?" Benjamin frowned, giving Cody a once-over.

"Mr. Brown, aren't you here to see me? I'm Cody from Star Debt Collection Company," Cody said, laughing awkwardly, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"See you? Do I know you? Ridiculous." Benjamin gave Cody a disdainful look, then pushed him aside and kept walking into the private room.

Cody, red-faced and humiliated, kept his mouth shut. No way he was gonna mouth off to a big shot like Benjamin with all that dough.

The classmates were scratching their heads. Wasn't Benjamin here for Cody? Why'd he just brush him off like that?

Everyone's eyes were glued to Benjamin, trying to figure out what was going on.

Under all those confused stares, the short and chubby Benjamin hustled over to Eric. With a big, cheesy grin, he said, "Mr. Phillips, Leonard told me you were here, and since I was already singing at this KTV, I had to come pay my respects and offer you a toast."

The room went dead silent. Cody, Stella, Aria, and the rest of the classmates were all slack-jawed. 'A billionaire like Benjamin here to kiss up to Eric? No way, this can't be real!'

"Benjamin, since you're here, pour the wine," Eric said, waving his hand like it was no big deal.

"Yes, sir!" Benjamin nodded like a bobblehead, grabbed the wine, and poured a glass.

"Cheers, Mr. Phillips." Benjamin downed the whole glass in one go! To him, getting to drink with Eric was a huge honor.

After setting down the glass, Benjamin said, "Mr. Phillips, I know it's your class reunion today, so I won't keep you." He bowed and slipped out of the room.

Once Benjamin was gone, the room got super weird. Everyone was staring at Eric, totally baffled.

With a smirk, Eric turned to Cody and said, "I told you, only bosses with assets over a hundred million dollars are worth my time. Believe me now?"

"This has to be a mistake! Mr. Ford must've gotten it wrong!" Cody spluttered, his face contorted in disbelief as though he had just bitten into a particularly bitter lemon.

Right then, the waiter burst in again, shouting, "Henry Davis, Chairman of Titanium Mining Group, is outside requesting to see you!"

"What? Even the Chairman of Titanium Mining Group is here?" The room exploded with chatter, everyone whispering to each other. All the classmates were locals from Silverbrook, so they knew Henry was a big deal, a super-rich billionaire.

Henry walked in, and the room went quiet again. Everyone was a bit starstruck. Henry was even more impressive than Benjamin. Why would he be here?

Everyone thought, 'Is Henry here to see Eric too?'

With a commanding presence, Henry entered the room, scanned the crowd, and locked eyes on Eric. He quickly smiled, took small steps, and hurried over to Eric.

"Mr. Phillips, you really are here. I'm Henry from Titanium Mining Group" he said, his tone dripping with respect.

Everyone was sweating bullets, their eyes popping out of their heads!

Cody and his crew looked like they'd seen a ghost, their faces pale as sheets.

Eric gave Henry a casual nod. Henry poured a glass of wine and toasted Eric.

After setting down the glass, Henry said, "Mr. Phillips, I won't keep you. I'll take my leave now."

Then, he left.

Just then, the waiter ran in again, practically bouncing with excitement, "A whole bunch of bosses are outside. They are Isaac Martinez from Stellar Textile Group, Kenneth Wilson from Linyang Holdings, Louis Moore from Qingguang Group, and Robert from the Silverbrook City Chamber of Commerce!"
