Chapter 157 Sharon
The patients around were buzzing with chatter.
"He's the chairman of Power Group? And he's so young!"
"No wonder he had the guts to smash the glass. He's a big deal!"
"Addison messed with the chairman of Power Group? She's in deep trouble now!"
The crowd was stunned when they found out who Eric was.
Usually, they'd be impressed just meeting a millionaire, but this was the chairman of Power Group. Most people never get to see someone like him in person.
"Mr. Rogers, this is your relative, right? As the dean, you're guilty of nepotism. If I report this, you'll definitely lose your job!" Eric said, squinting his eyes coldly.
"Mr. Phillips!" Steven's face turned pale.
The patients around chimed in, "Mr. Rogers, Addison's always been arrogant and rude. So she's your relative!"
"Mr. Rogers, you owe us an explanation!"
The crowd started shouting. Many had experienced Addison's bad attitude firsthand.
Steven stormed over to Addison.
Two loud slaps landed right on her face.
Addison looked hurt and angry but didn't dare say a word.
"Steven, don't you think someone like this shouldn't be working in a hospital?" Eric stared at Steven.
"Yes, absolutely!" Steven nodded frantically.
He turned to Addison and yelled, "What are you standing there for? You're fired! Get out of the hospital! Security, throw her out!"
The nearby security guards immediately stepped in, grabbed Addison, and escorted her out.
Addison didn't dare say anything; she was terrified of Eric.
The patients around clapped and cheered, thrilled to see Addison get fired.
"Mr. Rogers, I hope you'll tighten up management, especially regarding employee attitudes, got it?" Eric patted Steven's shoulder.
"Got it!" Steven nodded repeatedly.
Just then, Jenna came running back.
"Mr. Rogers, the surgery is ready to start!" Jenna reported.
"Great, take us there," Eric said.
Steven and Jenna personally led Eric and Sharon to the operating room.
Eric looked at Steven, who was standing respectfully in front of him.
"Mr. Phillips, I've reviewed this surgery, and the success rate is ninety-nine percent, so you can relax," Steven said with a smile.
"That's good to hear." Eric sighed in relief.
Sharon, standing beside him, also sighed in relief.
"Steven, we don't need you here. Go do your job," Eric waved him off.
"Alright, Mr. Phillips, if you need anything, just let me know." Steven smiled obsequiously.
Then, Steven turned and left.
After he was gone, Sharon looked at Eric. "Eric, once again, you're helping me." She bit her lip and looked down.
"You should've told me earlier. Didn't I say we're good friends?" Eric patted her head.
Sharon suddenly looked up at Eric and gathered her courage. "Eric, I know about you and Tina. It's because of her that you won't accept me, right?"
Eric looked at her, surprised. "What do you know?"
"I know you and Tina have already... you know." Sharon stammered but finally got it out.
"How do you know that?" Eric was shocked.
Sharon looked down again. "Kyle told me. He didn't want me to misunderstand you, so he told me you were drugged and that's why you were with Tina. You decided to take responsibility, so you rejected me."
Eric gave a bitter smile.
Eric didn't expect Kyle to spill the beans to Sharon.
But he knew Kyle did it to clear up any misunderstandings.
"Eric, is it true?" Sharon looked at him, eyes serious.
"Yeah, it's true. I did reject you because of that," Eric admitted.
Since she already knew, there was no point in hiding it.
"Do you have feelings for me? Do you like me?" Sharon asked, gathering her courage.
"Yes!" Eric answered without a second thought, firm and clear.
Hearing this, Sharon's eyes filled with tears, and they started streaming down her face.
"If you do, why can't you accept me? Why!" Sharon cried, hitting Eric's chest.
"Sharon!" Seeing her cry, Eric couldn't hold back anymore. He pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly.
Eric had held back for too long. There were countless times he wanted to hug Sharon but could only dream about it.
But after what happened yesterday, Eric had a change of heart.
Yesterday at Green Hill Resort, Eric told Tina that if she got into Frank's car, he wouldn't owe her anything anymore. And she chose to get in the car.
Since he no longer owed Tina, and there was no future between them, Eric didn't have to hold back his feelings for Sharon anymore.
Sharon had been waiting for this hug for too long!
"Eric, I know you and Tina aren't a couple yet. I can overlook what happened between you two. Just promise me, okay?" Sharon cried in Eric's arms.
Eric lifted her chin, looked her in the eyes, and said, "Sharon, I promise you!"
Then, he kissed her.
After four hours of waiting, Sharon's mom came out of surgery. It was a success, but she'd need to stay in the hospital for further treatment.
She was placed in a special care ward with the best caregivers, so there was nothing to worry about.
The next day, at Silverbrook University, after class.
"Eric!"Sharon bounced up to Eric with a big smile.
Today, she was wearing a pink T-shirt and jeans. Simple, but she looked stunning with her natural beauty and playful smile.
As soon as Eric stood up, Sharon linked her arm with his, her face glowing with happiness.
Maybe it was because they were officially a couple now, but Sharon looked even more radiant than usual.
"Eric, what's going on here?" Kyle, standing nearby, looked puzzled.
"Kyle, Sharon is my girlfriend now!" Eric said, grinning.
"Really? That's awesome! Congrats!" Kyle clapped his hands in joy.
"Kyle, let's go! My treat tonight. Let's have a big meal!" Eric said, smiling.
"Great! This calls for a celebration!" Kyle said happily.
The three of them left the building and headed for the school gate.
On the way.
"Eric!" Ariel Nelson ran up to him.
"What's up?" Eric asked.
"Eric, I want to be friends with you. Can we be friends? We can do anything together." She gave him a flirtatious look.
Eric was speechless.
"Sorry, I have a girlfriend. This is my girlfriend." Eric held Sharon's hand.
Ariel blinked and said, "Eric, it's normal for someone as rich as you to have a bunch of girlfriends. I don't mind."
"But I do." Eric said with a bitter smile.
"Alright then, I guess I'm not charming enough." She didn't push it further.
She looked at Sharon with envy and said, "I'm so jealous of you, being able to be Eric's girlfriend. You're rich now!"
"I'm with Eric not because he's rich!" Sharon said seriously.
Ariel clearly didn't believe her.
