Chapter 11 Old and New Lovers
As soon as Sierra asked, the atmosphere became awkward.
Sierra felt embarrassed enough. Roger was about to say something unpleasant when Jason laughed lightly.
He said seriously to Linda, "Sierra is my friend, so of course Roger knows her! Little sister-in-law, don't worry at all. Roger is loyal to you!"
At the end of his sentence, he glanced at Roger with a hint of mockery in his eyes.
Roger's face looked very bad as he left with Linda.
After they left, Jason greeted Sierra: "It's amazing that we can bump into each other in such a big city like New York. Next time I'll choose a place where you won't see Roger so that you won't be bothered."
Sierra ordered some dishes and whispered: "There's no need to avoid him deliberately. Do I have to hide from him for the rest of my life just because we broke up? Besides, it wasn't me who did anything wrong."
Jason raised an eyebrow slightly.
Suddenly he said: "I'm going to the bathroom now; you eat first when the food comes."
Sierra didn't suspect anything.
When ten minutes passed and Jason still hadn’t returned yet, she wondered what had happened. Suddenly there was a woman screaming in the restaurant restroom... The high-end restaurant suddenly became chaotic.
Jason and Roger were fighting for reasons unknown.
When Sierra saw them on site, blood stained both walls and floors while Roger stared at Jason gloomily.
An hour later two men and two women sat in the police station; Jason and Roger were charged with fighting over jealousy without any clear reason given for their fight.
Linda called Eric crying sweetly on phone: “Brother…Roger got into a fight with someone else; we're now at the police station. Brother please come quickly! Um...Roger is injured quite badly.”
Sierra's mind went blank.
What? Eric was coming?
She spoke lightly, not daring to offend him!
Sierra wanted to find a chance to slip away, but Jason clung onto her: "Sierra, you still have to take me to the hospital later. My face is so badly hurt; how can I see people tomorrow?"
Sierra had a terrible headache!
Just then footsteps sounded and Sierra subconsciously looked up.
It was Eric.
He was dressed elegantly in a classic handmade British suit that made him look like a male god from a magazine cover.
After he came in, he didn't even glance over here and just talked directly with the police officers: "I'm here to bail out Jason and Roger."
The other party knew his identity and handed him a cigarette politely: "Mr. Howard, we're really sorry for bothering you with such trivial matters! The main issue is that these two were fighting over jealousy which isn’t good for anyone."
Fighting over jealousy?
Eric glanced lightly at them before his gaze fell on Sierra.
Today she wore something conservative - champagne-colored silk shirt paired with fishtail skirt - covering herself tightly from head-to-toe. But this kind of dress added some eroticism instead of reducing it.
Linda pleaded for Roger: “Brother, Jason mocked me first before Roger fought back against him… It wasn't about jealousy at all.”
Eric took care of the procedures without paying attention to Linda’s words.
Roger left first and got into his car while Linda hurriedly followed behind him.
Jason coughed slightly and said: “Thank you very much Brother Eric; I'll treat you dinner another day.” After speaking he tried pulling Sierra away.
Eric watched them as he slowly exhaled smoke rings before saying faintly: “Jason, go outside first; I have something to say to Miss Adler.”
