Chapter 35: No Way Out

Sierra froze.
Olivia's face turned pale as she said again, "Your father committed suicide inside! He's been rescued but the situation is not good. Sierra, please think of a way to let me see him! His health has always been poor and this blow is too much!"
Olivia covered her face and cried in pain.
Sierra was in turmoil. She didn't want to believe that her strong father would commit suicide. She had just seen him fine that day! She immediately called Lucas, begging him to arrange for them to see George Adler.
Lucas also received the news and was about to discuss with Sierra when he asked her to come to the office.
Sierra comforted Olivia and they both went to the office without having breakfast.
Mr. Rodriguez looked serious.
He made several phone calls in front of Sierra and her mother before putting down the phone and shaking his head, "He's okay now but can't be released on bail. He needs medical treatment inside."
Because of Jason's relationship, Lucas tactfully added, "Sierra, your father’s case involves The Harris family... You should look for Mr. Harris (Roger) and see if there is any room left?"
Mr. Harris... Roger!
Sierra closed her eyes painfully; she should have guessed it was Roger’s doing all along! He did so many outrageous things just because he wanted her back by his side.
But how could she go back? If Sierra became someone else’s mistress or third party lover then even if dad came out alive he would be furious!
But if she didn’t give in what about Dad? What about Olivia? Would they really end up ruined?
Sierra sat there blankly.
Mr. Rodriguez felt sorry for her as he handed over a cup of warm water while speaking softly, "Why don't you talk with Eric again? I heard from Jason that you two have been getting closer lately."
Sierra's heart felt like it had been pricked by a needle.
The pain was lingering and dense...
Mr. Rodriguez continued in a gentle tone, "Eric is not so unfeeling either. A few days ago he came to me for..."
He suddenly remembered Eric’s instructions and didn't say anything more.
What if Eric changed his mind? Wouldn’t it disappoint the girl again?
Sierra listened to his suggestion and nodded.
When she went out, she hesitated whether or not to call Eric but last night she had rejected him; would he still be willing to listen now that she called him for help?
Sierra wasn't sure.
But for her father's sake, she mustered up the courage to dial... The phone was off!
Sierra felt hopeless. She almost couldn't face Olivia anymore.
Olivia! Where is Olivia?
Sierra thought Olivia might have gone to the bathroom so she looked around but couldn’t find her anywhere.
She began feeling uneasy as she dialed Olivia's phone: "Please answer... please answer..."
The phone rang but no one answered.
Suddenly Sierra remembered something and ran towards the elevator frantically pressing buttons...
As soon as Sierra stood inside the closed elevator, her whole body trembled with fear.
Olivia... Don't do anything stupid!
Don’t...
Inevitably Sierra was too late. When she arrived at The Harris family CEO office, everything was in chaos.
Roger leaned against the redwood desk holding his stomach while blood kept flowing through his fingers.
It was a shocking scene!
Olivia held tightly onto a fruit knife while speaking non-stop like someone possessed; however what exactly did they say could not be understood clearly!
Tears streamed down Sierra’s face when calling out softly, "Olivia!"
Olivia stared straight ahead murmuring, "I killed Roger. He won't hurt your dad or you anymore... Sierra, I told you he wasn't right for you."
Sierra hugged Olivia gently and choked up, "Olivia, don't be afraid... I'm here!"
Roger held his wound while blood kept dripping down. The secretary wanted to give him first aid but he pushed her away and asked Sierra word by word, "Can’t you see me bleeding? Sierra?"
