Chapter 25 He Seems to Regret It!

Roger didn't leave immediately.
He was outside when Eric pinned Sierra on the hospital bed and kissed her.
Roger had seen how soft Sierra's kisses could be. He was so angry that his whole body tensed up like a taut bowstring, ready to snap at any moment.
Finally, when Sierra couldn't take it anymore and made small noises, Roger punched the opposite wall in frustration.
Blood splattered everywhere.
His palm was covered in blood, but he seemed not to feel any pain. He remained motionless with a face as calm as water.
For a moment, Roger wanted to rush into the ward and take Sierra away from Eric right under his nose. But he knew that if he took one step inside, his engagement with Linda would be immediately invalidated.
Everything he had worked so hard for would disappear in an instant!
Suddenly, Roger left and drove to a semi-new neighborhood where he used to live for two years. The security guard still remembered him when his car entered: "Mr. Gu is back!"
Roger nodded expressionlessly and went upstairs to open a door of an apartment about 80 square meters large - full of memories of him and Sierra.
At that time, the Harris family was on the verge of bankruptcy; they all squeezed into this old building together without even having enough money for decent meals. Even Mrs. Harris had to go bargain hunting at the market herself just for some cheap vegetables...
They were living hand-to-mouth then.
To protect his pride, Sierra often came over secretly or openly cooked meals for him while also providing financial support.
She was such a foolish woman! She thought Roger loved her but from beginning till end she only served as someone whom he could use.
Sierra never understood what happened!
Even now she believed that George Adler suffered because of her; she never knew that George Adler had been chosen by Roger as a scapegoat years ago, and that she herself was just a tool for gaining George Adler's trust.
This tool was too foolish, and in the end, Roger couldn't bear to part with her.
Ha! Even if he succeeded in his career, where else could he find such a simple-minded woman who loved him so much?
He wanted to keep her by his side!
Cooking for him, gently rubbing his forehead when he was tired...maybe even allowing her to have his child!
Even if it meant finding someone else to replace George Adler - it would be troublesome!
Roger walked out onto the balcony and slowly lit up a cigarette. After smoking about four or five cigarettes, he called his secretary.
"Is there any news from George Adler's side? Or is Mr. Rodriguez handling the case?"
The secretary nodded.
Roger gave some instructions expressionlessly.
The secretary was shocked; having followed Roger for quite some time now, she knew about his relationship with Sierra. She couldn't help but plead on Sierra's behalf: "Mr. Harris...Miss Adler..."
Roger spoke coldly: "Do as I say! Be efficient."
After a moment of silence, the secretary agreed reluctantly.
Just then Linda called. Roger didn't really want to answer because he felt annoyed and distracted by how Eric had kissed Sierra like a cat all over her body earlier. But Linda kept calling several times until finally he picked up.
"Roger, where are you?"
"My hand hurts; can you come over and apply medicine for me?"
"My parents are coming tomorrow; we might discuss our wedding date. Can you ask Auntie Bo to come over instead?"
With thoughts of Sierra still clouding his mind and making him feel numb all over again,Roger replied impatiently: "I got it."
After hanging up the phone, Roger thought that this would do!
When men have power they can have whatever they want. Even if it's 20 years later, he won't regret his decision today.

Sorry Mr. Howard
