Chapter 22: Sierra Doesn't Care Who He's Dating
Sierra was surprised when she saw Linda in the hospital. She lifted her eyes and saw a couple deeply in love, kissing under the moonlight. Roger held his fiancée tightly, cherishing her like a treasure. Despite his temperamental nature, he coaxed Linda like a child, "This is the last time tonight! You should go to sleep."
Linda wrapped her arms around his neck and seductively asked him with innocent eyes, "Roger, we're engaged now. When are you going to have sex with me?" Just as Roger was about to respond, he caught sight of Sierra in the corner of his eye.
Sierra stood on the corridor for who knows how long admiring them. Suddenly Roger pressed Linda against his chest so that she wouldn't notice Sierra's presence while he himself kept an eye on her.
He never expected Sierra to be saved; originally he had decided to sacrifice her but unexpectedly she came back unscathed.
Did Linda know what was going through Roger's mind? She was immersed in their romance and gently traced circles on his chest with delicate fingers while urging him softly, “Roger, what are you waiting for?"
"Is that really what you want?" asked Roger calmly before pulling up the girl's hair from behind and passionately kissing her.
Linda couldn't take it anymore and lightly punched him on the shoulder complaining, “What’s wrong with you?"
Roger stopped abruptly; His gaze deepened as if shrouded by gloominess that could not be dispelled easily. He suddenly picked up Linda and headed towards VIP ward leaving behind no trace of where they went.
When they returned from having sex at dawn something felt off for Roger despite getting everything he wanted - a beautiful fiancée along with all benefits associated with being engaged plus satisfaction from their physical intimacy together- there was still a void in his heart.
He couldn't forget Sierra's eyes: mocking and indifferent!
A pair of soft arms hugged him from behind. Linda leaned against his back and asked tenderly, "What are you thinking about?"
Roger put out the cigarette he had been smoking for the past few minutes before pulling his fiancée into his embrace. He whispered in her ear, “Linda, no one is better than you."
Linda snuggled up to him and held onto his hand, “You have to be good to me, okay? You must always love me and treat me well!"
Roger's Adam's apple rolled gently; He didn't know how to love someone - he only loved power! Neither Sierra nor Linda were exceptions; he just chose whoever was more advantageous for himself.
After a while, Linda suddenly spoke again, “I saw Miss Adler earlier! Roger, are you still blaming yourself for not being able to save her? Don't worry brother saved her and took care of her personally...you can rest assured now."
Rest assured?
Roger sneered.
Then he sank into deep thought as Eric's unusual attitude towards Sierra came back to mind...
