Chapter 48 Making a Phone Call in Front of Roger

Roger's eyebrows twitched. He thought it must have been from the club.
So he disguised it with a smile, "I went to the hospital early this morning to change my dressing. It might be from the nurse."
Linda was very dissatisfied and played with her nails while throwing a tantrum, "That little nurse must be young and pretty! You must have enjoyed it when she changed your dressing."
Roger laughed.
He pinched her cheek, "Are you jealous?"
Linda loved him deeply and didn't really suspect anything. She forgot about it as soon as he comforted her and leaned on his shoulder sweetly.
Mr. Huo made his move on the chessboard while saying, "Girls should be more reserved!"
How could parents not know their children? Eric had reminded them that Linda was too straightforward and would easily fall for Roger's tricks.
However, Mr. Huo felt that his daughter was innocent and finding someone like Roger who could plan ahead was actually a good thing.
Roger passed through smoothly; there was a slight curve at the corner of his mouth.
Just then, Mrs. Howard came over with a smile: "Let's eat first since Eric isn't back yet. The servants have already prepared the dishes."
Linda pulled Roger up affectionately by holding onto his arm.
The couple exchanged smiles with each other.
The atmosphere in the dining room was good; Roger spoke well and everyone in The Howard family liked him very much.

After dinner, Linda took him upstairs to her bedroom.
She closed the door behind them and kissed him passionately... wanting to get intimate with him.
But Roger had injuries all over his body from earlier today when he did it with someone else; how could he handle another round now? Besides, he wasn't in the mood either so they just settled for several kisses.
He teased her in a hoarse voice, "Wait a few more days, okay?"
Linda blushed.
She hugged his waist and breathed in his scent, "I really want you to take a shower and wash off the perfume smell. But I won't hold it against you if it's from the nurse."
Roger's gaze darkened slightly.

The engaged couple took a nap.
A car engine sound came from downstairs; Eric must have returned. Roger gently moved away from his fiancée's embrace and walked over to the balcony to look down below.
It was indeed Eric.
The temperature was high in the afternoon so he had taken off his coat. He wore only a deep blue shirt and trousers while holding onto his phone as he spoke. He stood directly under Roger.
"Um! I went back to the mansion first. I'll pick you up around five o'clock!"
"You pack your luggage first."

Roger tensed up all over; he knew that Sierra was on the other end of Eric's call.
Sierra... is she going to live with Eric?
Suddenly, Eric looked up at him and their eyes met each other for four seconds before Eric smiled lightly.
He spoke very tenderly into the phone: "Nothing much, just saw an acquaintance! Gotta go now... things that can't be brought along will be bought on my way back."
After speaking, he hung up immediately.
Roger's face turned extremely ugly!
At this moment, Linda woke up too and walked over to hug him by wrapping her arms around his waist while trying to kiss him again but Roger wasn't in the mood anymore, "Your brother is back; let's go downstairs."
Even though Linda was naive, she could sense that something was wrong with how cold he suddenly became towards her which made her feel disappointed.
Roger comforted her briefly before they went downstairs together where Linda became happy again upon seeing Eric sitting on the sofa reading a magazine.
"Brother."
Eric pinched her face, "You're still clinging to me even though you've grown up. Be careful not to make Roger jealous."
"He won't be." Linda hugged his arm and acted coquettishly, "Brother, didn't you say that you have several projects? It's better to do them yourself than for outsiders."
Eric looked at Roger with a meaningful smile, "Dad said that girls shouldn't stay too long; this is really true."
"Brother." Linda acted spoiled again.
