Chapter 14 Miss Adler, Are You Short of Money?

Roger was ruthless and took drastic action. In just two days, the entire Adler family's assets were frozen. Two properties and stocks under Sierra's father's name.
Roger was confident that Sierra wouldn't last long!
When the court came to seize their assets, Olivia was so angry that she ended up in the hospital. When she woke up, she went to Roger's company to make a scene but didn't see him at all. She almost got herself into trouble with the police.
Sierra coaxed and lied to bring Olivia back to the hospital.
Olivia lay on her sickbed worriedly: "It doesn't matter if we are homeless, but we still need a lot of money for your father’s case. Although Mr. Rodriguez is an acquaintance, we still have to pay what we owe!"
Sierra comforted her softly: "I will find a way."
Olivia felt sorry for her and gave Sierra her savings book in the afternoon which had over $1 million inside it.
Sierra knew this was Olivia's retirement fund.
She held onto the savings book and choked up slightly: "I'll use it first, then I'll..."
But Olivia interrupted her: "I have a small apartment in the suburbs; although it is old-fashioned, it can be used as our temporary home. Sierra... you must do everything you can to help your father win his lawsuit."
Sierra nodded.
After being discharged from hospital, Sierra brought Olivia back to their temporary rental house located in an old community area - a small two-bedroom flat measuring only 60 square meters with shabby decoration compared with their previous high-end residence.
Feeling guilty about using too much money elsewhere; Sarah helped find two part-time jobs for Sierra despite not agreeing initially due to how busy she already was working full time herself.
Sarah guessed where most of Sierra's money was going and ended up lending her all the savings she had accumulated.
Sierra remembered this favor. She worked part-time at a restaurant every day after work, although it was tiring, she could earn $50 per hour.
She looked good and played the piano well; the manager was happy to have her there.
Eric met Sierra again in this restaurant but he wasn't alone - he was with another charming woman who seemed like a colleague but also had some ambiguous relationship with him.
Sierra wasn't surprised that someone as outstanding as Eric would not lack female companionship.
She knew they were from two different worlds and chose not to disturb him even when they bumped into each other in the restroom. She just nodded slightly: "Mr. Howard."
Eric smoked in the smoking area and frowned when he saw Sierra.
This woman had lost weight; although beautiful, she looked fragile enough to break if pinched too hard.
Eric knew that Sierra's training center didn't allow teachers to take on private jobs outside of work hours.
He exhaled smoke rings slowly between them before asking: "Miss Adler, are you short of money?"
Sierra was taken aback by his question.
She couldn't believe Eric would condescend himself to talk to her like this until she murmured softly: "Yes, I am."
Eric immediately guessed it must be Roger's doing.
Although he didn’t stand up for her against Roger’s actions, his eyes scanned over Sierra's body critically.
Even picky people like Eric had to admit that if Sierra wanted quick cash, it would be easy for her since she not only looked good but also had a soft personality which no man could resist!
The fact that she took on part-time jobs despite being able to endure hardships surprised Eric though.
But Mr. Howard respected women; he simply raised his chin slightly with an air of sophistication indicating permission.
Sierra knew he had given her the green light and hurriedly went into the restroom.
When she came out, Eric was gone along with his beautiful companion who had come with him.
Sierra thought that Mr. Howard would probably have a wild night.

Sorry Mr. Howard
